1. Just move to the US you worthless jerk
Edgar ,   Tel Aviv   (10.07.10)
"Declaration of Independence"!!! This guy is worse than useless. He's a public menace. What country would adopt such cloying, self-deprecating wording?! Sorry your ashamed of who you are Ehud but please realize the rest of us are not.
2. edgars talkback
arnon ,   tel aviv   (10.07.10)
Hi Edgar, First of all, accordng to the report it was Bibi who refered to the declaration of independence not Ehud. Secondly, If there is wisdom in somethng widely accepted in the world (and here too), why not use it? what makes it wrong?
3. p.s. to edgar
arnon ,   tel aviv   (10.07.10)
in his reference to the declaration of independence Ehud was refering not to the american declaration but to the israeli one (megilat haazmaut) which also holds liberal views concerning non-jews living in israel (and as such good enough :-).
4. Sultan of the W Bank= democrat?
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (10.07.10)
He wields enormous power in the W Bank, power in a place that is antithetical to anything remotely resembling democracy, its values, its morality. It takes 'beitzim' to demand a redraft of this disgusting loyalty oath, and honesty. Barak may have the former, but he lacks the latter. This is just political sour grapes and opportunism. He's as right wing as the proponents of this bigotry.
5. What use is this? Just more Beaurocracy for new Olim
Naomi ,   Netanya   (10.07.10)
They will have to go to a special office and find some clerk who will give them lots of forms to fill in. Then they will have to fax those forms to another bureacrat who will post them a letter inviting them to come over to visit him to give the oath. Just more confusion and billbulatzia that will need more tax money to finance.
6. @arnon: read it again
Edgar ,   TA, Israel   (10.07.10)
It does not say anywhere in this article that it was proposed by Bibi. Maybe you read that elsewhere and maybe it is even true, but it is not stated above. Either way, the sad fact is that half the population here seems to spend most of it's time and energy tripping over itself trying to show a hostile, brain-dead world that we are "enlightened". Why are the hollow and hypocritical opinions of Europe and the US so important to Israel?
