1. Settlers in action.
Ali ,   villanova -PA- USA   (10.11.10)
This is NORMAL for these thieves.. They make all the Jews look bad.. The IDF should not provide security for these bandits..EVEN with Stones, the Palestinians will Chase them out.. Eventually, they will RUN out of the West bank with their TAILS between their legs...

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.11.10)
Oh, please. Arab history of theft and vandalization of Jewish settlements goes back nearly 100 years. Leopards don't change their spots. You are still thieves, you still pillage and ruin and you still engage in violence. You are fooling no one.
3. Harvesting olives
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.11.10)
For the uninformed, permit me to educate you on how olives are harvested. They are not picked. Picking olives bruises the fruit. Harvesting olives basically hasn't changed since people started to harvest them. You take a large stick, and beat the trunk of the tree, which allows the fruit to shake loose from the tree without bruising the fruit. It's pretty hard to do that without attracting some attention -- it is noisy, to say the least. The "Palestinian" claims are completely without merit. They need a new scriptwriter.

8. #2 Sarah B, back nearly100 years? not the 3000 years?
observer   (10.11.10)
The Jews conquered the land in 168 BC and ruled it for 100 years until Palestine was liberated by the Roman general Pompey the Great for they killed and pillaged the natives overmuch. Another 100 years later, there was not a single Jew in Jerusalem. The native dwellers of Palestine were called “Palestinians” by Herodotes in 5th century BC, 2500 years before (modern) Israeli statehood; but Herodotes never heard of Jews, though he walked across the whole land.
9. In Sympathy with Palestinians and Jews
Elizabethlynne ,   Dallas, TEXAS!   (10.11.10)
This conflict is harming both Jews and Palestinians, when it causes them to behave in miserable ways towards each other. As a Jewish woman myself, I deeply regret any harm to the Palestinian people, sad that their lives such be made miserable by misguided and angry Jewish people. The best choice is to be kind and generous to each other, avoiding unnecessary unkind acts. If we don't like unkind acts in others, we should not tolerate them in OURSELVES.
10. #2 #3 Sarah...You do not speak for the NICE Jews..
Ali ,   villanova -PA- USA   (10.11.10)
You BARK form the COMFORTS of your Florida Hideout..You should move and live with the LAWLESS settlers.. But..You are a COWARD to even get on a plane to go there..They can use your help to STEAL the OLIVES....
11. Israel agreed to honor all Ottoman/British land titles
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (10.11.10)
While that leaves the Jordanian issued land titles in question. Many Muslims and Christians lost there land in the Northern border and Galilee areas from 1948 to 51 at gun point with many still living in Israel or force to Lebanon. This was for security reasons since only 12% was Jewish in area at the time but they were never pay for land. Yes Jews lose land in W. Bank during that time but the Israeli courts are giving that land back now but not land non-Jews lost in Israel. Will the US,EU or Vatican stand up for the Christians who lost land in Israel? If not who will, surely not the Arabs or US Jews.
12. prove it wasn't palestinian thieves..
Ita ,   israel   (10.11.10)
of course the son is going to say it was settlers.. they know that this will get media attention.. even if the people were dressed as settlers.. could still be palestinians.. sick that they are doing this to sway the world. Shame on them.

15. prove it wasnt jews!
Helen ,   Canada   (10.11.10)
the article said the jews called it no mans land and they took the olives. this gives you a very good clue about this act of theft. but of course you managed to skip that part didnt you. there has been many documented cases where jews claimed th eolives for their own. many of those olive trees are over 2 humdred years old. are you trying to tell us that the jews owned those olive trees over 2 humdred years ago?

You should run for village idiot; you'd win in a landslide. Not that it is any of your business, but I spend my time equally between New York (not Florida) and Saviyyon. I served in the IDF. I'm no coward. You, on the other hand, appear to be posting from the relative comfort of Pennsylvania. Why aren't you in Ramallah helping to build a viable Palestinian state? Huh? Why?

You get a B+ for creative writing. However, as what you write is not consistent with history or the Koran, you get an end mark of F.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.11.10)
No, dear, the accusations are made by someone who must prove that it was Jews. Sorry, dear, that's just how the law works. Innocent until proven guilty, got it? Ever wonder why these cases never get to court? It's because the "Palestinians" cannot provide evidence or proof -- mostly because they are sabotaging their own harvest. I wouldn't go to court with that, either. As to ownership of the olive trees -- since the so-called "Palestinians" are relative newcomers to the area and the Jews have lived there for over five thousand years -- well, you tell me. By the way, does the word "punctuation" mean anything to you?
19. To: No. 11
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.11.10)
Will the United States stand up for all the native Americans that lost land in the present-day United States? If so, you better start looking for a new home. Why would you think that Israel would be subject to a different set of rules? Besides which, the land has always been Jewish. The Arabs are relative newcomers, they were a nomadic people, and have no claim to Israel with proven provenance. As opposed to some native American tribes with really good provenance. Methinks, sir, you best shut up. Your arguments do not hold water and, if turned against you, will result in a whole lot of restructuring in the United States. Are you prepared for that? Didn't think so.
20. from what I heared due to intense heat wave
ghostq   (10.11.10)
the olive season ended already two weeks or more ago, this year was tough, and this is just palis who want money conpensation it got nothing to do with setlers, just another attampt to show how clueless everyone is, not only olives suffered from low fruit this year but also other agriculture around the area, BUT palis do what palis do best, try to trick others to believe they were robed. in reality climate is cause of that. duh, the season started in the end of July, and only in the end of season they complain? and that is the truth, the timing is not coinsidence. winter is coming and many palis got no income.

Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (10.11.10)
So how about letting the Palestinians return too, are they really all Arabs or only part?. I had one grandmothers half American Indian/half German and the other Dutch Jewish while one of my Grandfathers was Scottish and the other of Scottish/Norman blood that came to America(Virginia) in 1627. I am an American and very proud of it but my family history leaves many questions, both good and bad.
25. :: Harvesting olives for the uninformed
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (10.11.10)
If anyone tried to beat the trunk of the tree with a large stick (as Sarah BS claims) to get fruit they would be considered mad. Have a look at the methods used in harvesting olives on Google: http://tiny.cc/e3cmo As you can see there are several ways to harvesting olives: 1) Picking by hand while up a ladder 2) Using a form of rake while standing on the ground 3) Shaking the branches to let the fruit fall 4) On an industrial level using a special machine/vehicle to which causes the entire tree to shake thus causing the fruit to fall These four methods are used to harvesting olives - you do *not* go around banging tree trunks with clubs!

For a so called observer (of what ) you know nothing Philistia ,the name of the Roman Emperor,s wife at the time of Judah and the Maccabees ,Jewish protectors of ancient Israel when the Roman empire ruled most of the world and tried their utmost to eradicate Jewish life, tradition ,religion ,customs from the region ,the descendants of the Romans ,Britain anglicised the name from Philisiia.to Palestine just like they renamed Mumbai/Bombay Kolkata/ Calcutta etc.
