1. What a bunch of bunk!
Sahul R ,   USA/Spain   (10.14.10)
Spain is by far the most anti-Semitic country in Europe - just look at the latest statistics. HMKJCI does not deserve this medal either for his actual or symbolic role.
2. Spain finally got a worthy king
Cameron ,   USA   (10.14.10)
His majesty has stood high in my books since he directly told Hugo Chavez to shut the f*** up.
3. J Carlos & Queen Sofia: friends of the Jewish people
Sue ,   Los Angeles   (10.15.10)
In 1987, in a Sephardic synagogue in Los Angeles, King Juan Carlos became the first Spanish monarch to apologize to the Jewish people for the Inquisition and Expulsion of 1492. Years before his visit to L.A., his wife, Queen Sofia, was the first Spanish monarch to attend a synagogue service (in Barcelona).

The way he told off Hugo Chavez was awesome. He deserves an award just for that.

I went to Jordan and I saw big pictures of King Carlos and king abdulla hanging in the walls. Both are antisemitics and King carlos is an Hypocrite.

Never trust EUROPEAN ,   Governments.   (10.15.10)
They will never support Israel because of their own interest such as,OIL,Investments, and the most important many muslims in Europe and they are scared from them. One day Europe will be ISLAMIC with SHARIA LAW.
7. To #6
Thomas ,   Norway   (10.15.10)
Europe has always been supporters of Israel. But some idiots think because they support the Palestinian state, they don't support Israel. But investments in infrastructure in Palestine brings stability for Israel. See who Isreal's main export partners are. See who gave Israel heavy water for its nuclear program. Educate yourself.
8. The King of Spain
Daniel ,   Kiel, Germany   (10.16.10)
Well done by the Spanish king - and well-said by my almost-neighbor in Norge. Why is it that the morons have the loudest voices?
9. I admire King Juan Carlos
Susan Kfar Saba   (10.17.10)
Some talkbackers might be too young to remember. Back in the 1970s, Juan Carlos was Franco's protogee and designated successor to be dictator for life. After Franco died, Juan Carlos said no, we are going to be a democracy and about a year later Spain proceeded to hold their first election in 40 years. Once a very poor country, it is now more prosperous and free.
