1. Not to worry.
Linda ,   Poltava, Ukraine   (10.11.10)
Bibi has just handed over to the Pals a state-of the-art hammer with which they had no choice but to hit the last nail into the coffin of "independent Filistin" .
2. Why does the right vote Likud?
Steve Klein   (10.11.10)
The head of the Shomron Regional Council said, "Judea and Samaria are an important part of the Land of Israel, and it is our Zionist right and duty to build here; this is why the people elected (Netanyahu)." Why vote Likud when Likud has a history of surrendering Jewish land? Why vote Likud when Likud has a history of retreat from our land; a history of uprooting whole Jewish towns and villages? Likud is not a land of Israel Zionist party. If Jews on the right, voted for Netanyahu / Likud, believing Likud supports our Zionist right and duty to build (without exception) everywhere in the land of Israel, we were sorely mistaken. When has Mr. Netanyahu or his party put forward our right to build in our land? When has Likud presented our rights to Barack Hussein Obama and the international community? Obama says Jews building homes in Judea and Samaria (in Israel's heartland) is illegitimate. In the face of this falsehood (dare I say, bald-faced lie?) Prime Minister Netanyahu is silent, as is Likud.
3. Bibi's clever trap for Israelis
RayS ,   USA   (10.11.10)
Rather than outfoxing Israel's enemies, in order to appease Obama, Bibi's offer is made to tempt Israelis to accept another paper "agreement" in return for land and settlements vital to Israel's security and future .
4. How long
Moshe ,   US?   (10.12.10)
will you Israelis sing the old refrain that compromise will convince the world that you really want peace and the swee, murderous, treacherous palestinian Abbas will then be forced to show what he is really made of. The world will be very happy if they don't find themselves forced to contend with your difficulties. They want you out of their sight. And the sooner the better. That is, unless they can oversee your demise. Ask yourselves whether the palestinians ever gave you something you didn't force them to do. Netanyahu, I am afraid will sell you out, given the chance. So much for his promises.
5. Bibi should stop making concessions
Mike ,   Oxford UK   (10.12.10)
It's time for the PA to make concessions. They are the ones who have an vested interest in negotiations. If they genuinely want a state that is...
6. Backwards...
Gabriel ,   Tel Aviv   (10.12.10)
It is the settlers who endanger the Jewish state, trying to blur the lines between Israeli and Palestinian and doing their best to ensure that there will never be a peace deal, ensuring that a single-state deal is the only way forward. They care more about living on some hill-top near Hebron than they care about having a safe haven for Jews.
7. Palestinians
PAL   (10.12.10)
What makes me laugh is these guys roll the dice and go to war the winner takes the prize and then they want the land back like it never happened and they threaten to roll the dice again to get. If you did not try to drive them out of Middle East and accept a UN deal at the time Israel did you would not have these problems probably the biggest strategic blunder and the Palestinians still listen and take orders from the Arabs. If had sided with the Jews, you would have been far better off, but instead you keep suffering for the cause of others. All you are trying to get now is what you could have got when Israel did, what is 10 months you have wasted generations.
8. Settlers Love Arab Voters
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (10.12.10)
...why else would they steal their land? Or is the plan to transfer the Arabs in boxcars to resettlement camps?
9. The fanatical and violent 4% hold the country to ransome
Avi ,   Israel   (10.12.10)
As usaul andy demand of theirs comes with the threat of violence as that is the only language that the settler thugs understand. They failed to notice that they do not have public support and they know that if their was a public referndum tommorw they would loose, desperate measures from desperat people who only care about their real estate.
10. Head I Win, Tails You Win
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (10.12.10)
There is the short and tall of this. Look, the settlers have a point, they were enticed to move from other places in Israel, to achieve certain state goals. Now, the state is saying, hold everything, you might be forced back, to turn back history. To the Arab, there is no history, just the present . All the wars lost mean nothing to them. Had they won one, well, read Michael Orens Six Day War. There was blood in the eyes of the Arab armies..which were grouping throughout the Arab world and concentrating on the borders. In 73, they unsed Russian tactics and were stalled at the Canal..but they wanted to make a point and frankly did. Now Israels overt enemies have changed..to Iran Hez, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and a potential 5th colume. From the long view, Bibi is right, a Jewish state for a few more months freeze. Israel gains.,.However, it is all moot, the Pales have rejected this outright, before the ink was dry. So why bother? One of two things in the future:a withdrawal from 99% of the W. Bk and Arab East Jerusalem, OR, a stalemate with its consequences. Eithe rway, the settlers lose. Thats M.E. politics, partly thanks to Obama's penchant for being non-biased or baised.
11. These leeches need all aid cut.
morbid ,   usa   (10.12.10)
and they will learn very fast how they last on their own. And see if Hashem saves them or if they are "chosen"
12. Boo hoo.
David ,   Los Angeles   (10.12.10)
As is there usual cycle, the settler crybabies have gone from arrogantly lording it over everyone and celebrating to being unsure whether to whine and cry or to threaten.. They are so disgusting.
13. Bibi never disapoints time and again of
Al   (10.12.10)
what kind of poor excuse of a leader he is. He is useless in the extreme and will out Sharon Sharon. Lousy leadership seems to be an Israeli plague. I pity the Jews of Israel.
14. "Israel"
James Kendall ,   San Rafael, CA, USA   (10.12.10)
Some of my very-best friends always have been Jews. Yet, ISRAEL is going-to-Hell; at its own well-deserved volition.
15. PA may reconize Jewish State for permanent freeze
Bloodyscot ,   Dallas, Texas   (10.12.10)
until borders set, if US guarantees that it will not effect refugees right of return. Another freeze is coming, Netanyahu wants to stack talks in his favor before they get too far.
16. Settlements Must Halt
RudyHaugenederCanada ,   Canada   (10.12.10)
The Yesha Council's comments, if implemented, will be viewed by the non-Jewish world as Israel's version Lebensraum uber alles. With Western sympathy for Israel gradually eroding because of settlement expansion, it is time for a new tactic. The occupied territories and its Palestinian people must become part of greater Israel and full citizenship given to all Palestinian people living within those borders. It is the only way to bring true peace, even though Jews fear this will eventually mean Israel will then eventually become a Muslim majority state, due to the high Palestinian birth rate. However, if Palestinians become prosperous, it is likely they will become like everybody else where prosperity is common, and their birth rate will quickly decline to below replacement level -- and the Jewish majority will be maintained. It is worth a try. Otherwise, war of one kind or another will continue until everybody is crushed.
17. Zionist right and duty to build here?
observer   (10.12.10)
so it has nothing to do with the bible.
18.  poor Netanyahu, misunderstood again !!
Salma ,   Palestine   (10.12.10)
19. Where is the loyalty to the leaders of Israel?
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (10.12.10)
Put the oath of allegiance on those rebel settlers. Let them know that Israel is a democracy, and their minority group is not running the country.
20. Laughing at Oath, Okay Laugh at the IDF
Dav Lev ,   BurbankCAUSA   (10.12.10)
An oath has nothing to do witgh the talks, Abbas is right about this at least. /But extortion is extortion. The Pales have committed a criminal act by demanding the freeze to begin with. Its extortion, plain and simple. Either you give us property (teh W. Bk) or we will launch another Intifada, commit violent acts, have drive-bys, blow ourselves up, or place remote controlled bombs. Israel's mistake goes back years, when it agreed to give up the land for peace ( with threats of vioilence by Arafat, etc.). This policy is continuing. Americans are laughing at Bibi so says the Pales. I havent heard anyone laugh, have you? The joke is on the Pales. They have nothing but empty promiese to offer we Jews..we hold the high ground..and can secure th eStrip if needed. I say to Bibi: okay, give in to their extortion, drop the oath as a pre-condition..call their bluff and show your hand eventually. Dont wait too long. Require the thugs in Ramallah to duke it out with your IDF. Guess who lsoes? ?they use children...thats their problem and responsibility We bombed Germany/Japan...to win. Israel needs to win.
21. Brilliant move
Gila ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.12.10)
I think this is a brilliant move by Netanyahu. I don't think he expects the Arabs to agree for a moment, but it shows how one-sided and unfair the whole process is to Israel, and that the Arabs are simply not interested in making a realistic peace with us. This should then end all sympathy for calls to extend the freeze as there is no reciprocal goodwill gesture forthcoming from the Arabs. After all, why on earth should we support a 'Palestinian" state on land in Judea and Samaria that after all was originally part of our Jewish homeland, when the Arabs will not accept that ANY part of Israel is actually Jewish? If amazingly the Arabs DID accept, that would be a key acceptance and show that they do seriously want to make peace with us after all. But frankly I won't hold my breath......
22. #9 Avi. Most Israelis support Judea/Samaria building.
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.13.10)
#9 Avi. You live in a world of delusion. Have you not read the recent polls showing a large majority of Israelis oppose the racist building freeze? Are you not aware the leftist (anti-Judea/Samaria) Labor and Meretz Parties are being voted out of existence? Do you live under a rock? The vast majority of Israelis support building in our ancestral heartland of Judea and Samria. This is not a matter of opinion. It is fact proven by consistent polling and election results.
23. #10 Dav Lev. Status quo INFINITELY better than deal with P.A
Chaim ,   Israel   (10.13.10)
Dav Lev, you write about a "stalemate" as if it was a terrrible thing. So terrible is it better for Israel to cede Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria to our enemies and trim our waist to just 8 miles. That is crazy. The status quo is INFINITELY better than any deal Israel could strike with the P.A. The vast majority of Israelis support our right to build up our ancestral heartland of Judea and Samaria. The solution is simple. Annex Judea and Samaria. Pay Arabs to leave.
24. To Chaim: I Agree But Take Exception
Dav Lev ,   Burbank.CAUSA   (10.17.10)
To Chairm, I generally agree with your analysis. But this time, I have to take exception. Most Israelis from what I read, will allow for the 2 states. Am I incorrect? That said, some believe like crime, there is no solution. Perhaps, but crime can be mitigated. Ask yourself, w/o US support (30b in aid and those F-35 Eagles, not to mention UN support, how would Israeli Jews fare? The UN holds the purse strings..and Israel is miniscule. Heck, my county of LA has 10m people alone..in 1,000 square miles. No fighting here. Land disputes?..settled in courts..Okay, apples and oranges. But J St has influence as does Americans for Peace Now. Obama is listening to THEM. Forget the bible..(hear Admiral Zinni). The Pales also have a bible interpretationS. This is horse trading, that is all. What does Israel gain by the status quo? What does it stand to lose? I still believe, Israel should give in to another freeze, then let it walk out, if the extortion continues. And what about Hamas/Hez/Iran/Syria,Turkey? Can Israel fend off 500m Arabs and growing.Think about it. In part payment TAX arrangements..there is a good faith pmt but its the remainder to be collected. Israel should lower its standards..give them the freeze..then, brace itself. The Pales are winning fellow Zionists. Think back before Oslo 1 and 2..before Madrid, when Israel controlled the territories. Rabin/Peres were tired..thus Oslo. Look since.
25. To Chaim:More Nukes and More People
Dav Lev ,   Burbank.CAUSA   (10.17.10)
To Chaim: I reread your comments, and generally agree. Avi doesnt know what he is talking about. As far as the stalemate..how much longer can this go on? Iran is one year from a few nukes..and a bastion in Lebanon, maybe Gaza? Hez has 80,000 rockets..and Scud Ds. Flotillas are annoying the IDF. In the long run, a stalemate is against Israel's interests I believe. Yes, make sure any withdrawal leads to better, nor worse security. Syria already mentions those F-35s, knowing its impact. Maybe the status quo is better than the alternative? This is something Israeli military leaders and population will have to determine. Like you, I am pessimistic, if the "disengagement" is any proof of Pales perfidy and goals and Abbas extortion is pressuring Israel to its doom.
26. To Avi: 2 States But Genuine Peace and Nukes
Dav Lev ,   Burbank.CAUSA   (10.17.10)
To Avi: I read the Israeli news online constantly. To my knowledge, most Israeli Jews approve the 2 state solution but for a genuine peace. Bush accepted the 5 major settlements, plus a few small ones., which house most of the so-called settlers. Look, they were promised a lifestyle in the suburbs..cheaper, and with more room to grow. Were they wrong in accepting, Were they deceived somehow? What now? Are 500,000 settlers going to move? I doubt it. This conflict is not about greedy settlers, or townhouses..its about your future in a hostile Arab-Muslim world. The problems are difficult and old. They want it Judenrein..no Jews or dogs allowed. Israel is the Western bastion of colonialism..which stole Arab land. Ask most goyim here...I have. Bibi draws red flines then backs down, time and time again. Livni is a jerk. Housing projects are proposed, then cancelled. Israel is made the fool. What if one unit were to be built instead of 250? Would that change anything? The Pales have an agenda..listen to Fayyrad..and Ahmad. Israel needs defensible permanent, recognized borders..and a strong (er) army...with as many NUKES as possible. That is Israel's salvation.
