Of course you can criticize Israel in the U.S. But when anyone says "get the hell out" you're a "brutal occupier" and so and so forth, you've crossed a line by promoting intolerance - not to mention historical inaccuracies - and must pay the consequences. So, when you go on air and say "you can't survive if you criticize Israel" you are simply adding more intolerance and falsities to the list. Israel is under a severe de-legitimization attack. Actually, in the United States, her comments exceeded the constitutional protection of speech under the First Amendment. She crossed the line -- it was "hate speech," which is why she was fired from Hearst. Hearst is one of the largest media corporations in America -- and, needless to say, staunch defenders of the First Amendment. Her comments were not protected, which is why she lost her job, lost her reputation, and why no one wants anything to do with her and she is reduced to begging AM radio stations in small-town America to interview her.
