1. War crimes?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.14.10)
Okay, two can play the same game. Israel should submit an amicus curaie brief to the ICC on behalf of the Kurdish people of Turkey. What has happened to them is truly a war crime; what happened to the terrorist scum aboard the MARI MARMARA is nothing more than fumigation.
2. What " human rights"?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (10.14.10)
The only humans on board were the Israeli commandos and what about their human rights? They were attacked by a pack of rabid animals and had the right to defend themselves. Did the turks think they were unarmed kurds or cypriots waiting to be massacred? The hell with relations with turkey, let us demand that the i.c.c. investigate and try the turks.
3. Comoros is under ICC jurisdiction, but not Israel
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.14.10)
It does not matter that Turkey and the Comoros are signatories to the ICC treaty. Israel wisely chose not to participate, so the ICC has no standing to adjudicate the case. The US also wisely chose not to participate, though the current (Obama) administration is reconsidering that position.
4. Palestinians are assclowns...
Paolo O. ,   Ramat Gan, IL   (10.14.10)
... asking to the Hague assclowns to accompish their farsa.
5. Now IHH terrorists claiming to be victims
john   (10.14.10)
The Comoros Island should sue Turkey and the IHH terror group for misusing the integrity of The Comoro's Flag or any other flag for the purpose of terror.
6. Re #3 - Raymond in DC you are wrong
Frank Smitty ,   California   (10.14.10)
Israel does fall under the jurisdiction of ICC. Because Comoros is a signatory, and the ship boarded was flagged as such. That being said, nothing will come from this, but probably more bad PR for israel.
7. Turks accuse Israel of war crimes at ICC
Norway   (10.14.10)
I wonder how the Turks would have reacted if Israel sent a flotilla to Turkey with aid for the opressed Kurdish people?
8. When the case gets thrown out
Danny   (10.15.10)
will AP report that?
9. The pot calls the kettle black
Harry Arakilian ,   Worcester, MA   (10.15.10)
Hello Turks, how many Armenians did you kill? Wasn't the so called Grand Mufti one of the soldiers who carried out Turkish Genocide Holocaust on Armenians Shut your mouths filthy Turk murderers
10. #5 even being terrorist is not enough
observer   (10.15.10)
justification for extra judicial murder

hebrew prophet ,   israel   (10.15.10)
Firstly the two Arab Israelis who were onboard the Mavi Marmara must take their places in the Turkel Committee investigation into the Turkish IHH flotilla and answers questions but they won,t appear in Israel for obvious reasons(death threats ) secondly Turkey must answer as to why they,re punishing the Kurds for wanting a separate homeland up North?

john   (10.15.10)
According to the boat's captain the Mavi Marmara , the top deck been taken over solely by a certain group (now we know it's the IHH terror group)The I.D.F naval commandos been violently attacked by these terror thugs. the naval commandos initially used every restraint, only after there life were in great danger that they have used enough force in self defence to subdue these thugs.I do not accept your argument about an extra judicial murder,to kill a terrorist who came to harm you is not murder.
13. #12 was their Jewish intention detector put on?
observer   (10.15.10)
14. #13 - Another Muslim apologist for war crimes
William ,   Israel   (10.15.10)
Sorry Observer, the intentions of these "activists" were well-known since they left port...by their own admission, and again by testimonies from IHH themselves, to the boat captain, and to the Egyptian MP. There are endless years of precedent that pretty much proves when one will be attacked and can defend one's self, which is built into law enforcement programs. According to military and police analysts, the IDF acted no differently than a NYC policeman or NATO solider. I find it hilarious how your ilk expect violent Muslims to be arrested, at the risk of the policeman's life and others around him, but consider killings of civilians by your friends to be "self-defense". Here's a question for you: when with the ICC take up the case of the war crime committed by Hamas in the slaying of 4 civilians in West Bank, one of them pregnant (making the total dead 5). The PA has already made known they accept the ICC's jurisdiction on cases in the region (why, I have no idea because they are neither a sovereign State nor a functioning govt).
15. 14, 4 settlers among thousands transfered to WB is war crime
observer   (10.15.10)
"the transfer of parts of the civilian population of an occupying power into occupied territory" IS a war crime. Israel has already created the crime by transferring its civilians into the internationally recognized occupied West Bank. That is the International Law.
16. How do you go to ICC? With a pack of lies?
Eran ,   Singapore   (10.15.10)
In a TV interview, Turkish journalist Şefik Dinç, who was on the Mavi Marmara and wrote a book about it, said that no shots were fired from the Israeli helicopters and that IDF soldiers did not open fire until their lives were in danger. The interview clearly contradicts the IHH narrative. Dinç’s descriptions as well as additional remarks given in the book he wrote and in the interview are consistent with the testimonies of the Israeli soldiers who boarded the Mavi Marmara. They completely contradict the narrative constructed by the IHH about the flotilla events, which relies on the biased testimonies of activists who were on board the Mavi Marmara. Those testimonies were the basis for the prejudiced, one-sided report compiled by the UN Human Rights Council and, we assume, will be key in Turkey’s report to the UN fact-finding mission. Read his book; "Kanli Mavi marmara" (in Turkish- being translated to English as we speak).
