If the Jordanians were so interested in a free "Palestine", they would have left the West Bank in 1948 and set up a Palestinian state along the '67 borders. This, of course, flies in the face of almost 100 years of treaties, international law and the reality that Jordan is itself the de-facto Palestinian state by means of sheer demographics. Jordan is 80% of mandated Palestine, and Israel (from river to sea, is the other 20%. The San Remo conference recognised the international, legal right of Jewish settlement from river to sea. Jordan can "continue supporting the Palestinians" by conferring Jordanian citisenship on them. They can continue to live where they are, as foreign residents of Israel, and get on with building a constructive economy and futrue for the region...

I am palestinian american, under the age of 30, with a degree from u.c. berkeley. i want peace. im tired of arguing about this conflict. i just want to say that currently, nearly 70% of democrats in the u.s. want a palestinian state. Do israeli's not understand this? Do you understand that my generation, the new generation of americans see each other with rarely a hint of racism when it comes to real issues? Obama is just the start of the new democrats.do not test the ire of my generation. i see democrats in power for at least 70% of the time for the next 50 years. We are the only superpower left. If americans want a palestinan state, we will make it happen. I do not hate jewish people, i consider them to be brothers and relatives. We all come from the same region and forefather abraham. I respect the right of the people of issac to have their own nation.
