Switzerland is a civilized country and ALL citizens join the army for a mandatory period. Other countries that have mandatory military service: Albania, Armenia, Austria, Belarus, Bermuda, Brazil, China, Colombia, Cyprus, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iran, Israel, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Russia, Serbia, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey, and Ukraine.
