1. Nice story

Finally, a nice story following all the recent problems between Israeli Arabs and Jews in Safed, Carmiel, and other cities.

Hope to see much more high tech companies in my hometown especially with the wealth of unemployed college graduates (from Israeli university) who do not get hired by other Israeli companies just because of their ethnic background

People working together as equals, will do more for peace than anything else. I sure the radicals on both side will not be happy with this.

This is the real future of Israel and how peace can win. Think about ! Don't just react, think ;)

Instead of bashing Israel, try to be positive and ask yourself what can YOU can do for that happening in Nazaret. Stop complaining on yourself, move !!! And I talk to you the way I talk to my son, gently but firmly ;)
7. My perspective
Israeli   (11.05.10)
I work in high tech for many years and yes, there are Israeli companies that have defence contracts that do not hire anyone who was not in the army (so Arabs are automatically disqualified). However most companies I know and worked for do not care about the ethnicity of their employees, they only want good employees. So, why aren't there more Arabs in high tech? A big reason is geography- software companies tend to be in the centre of the country away from Arab populations. I also have met many Arabs with defeatest attitudes who are sure the Jews won't hire them because they are Arab. There are racists here but the majority are not. So Arabs send their CVs and never get a response assuming it is because they are Arab. Not necessarily true- I never got a response from sending a CV either. Which is the most imporant issue: in Israel we get jobs through people we know. Arabs are not part of the social fabric of society so don't know as many people who can get them jobs. That is the main problem.

You really don't know why people don't get hired and you can't just assume it's their ethnic background. This is something black people still say to this very day while there's a black president in office... that the white man is keeping them down. What I'm trying to say is that this is a self defeating view point that will get you nowhere and until you know 100% that it's because of discrimination don't go making assumptions. You know what they say... when you assume you make an ass out of u and me.
9. Don't assume discrimination
Diana ,   Haifa, Israel   (11.05.10)
My husband, a talented software engineer, was recently laid off, and sent at least 200 resumes. Not a single company answered. For a while we started to think he was being discriminated against because he's nearing 50. In the end he got a good job from a recommendation from someone he use to work for. It is really hard to get a job! Don't assume that discrimination is the problem.

It's a shame that more Israelis don't contribute to peace.
11. #10 untrue...
Alexander ,   NJ, USA   (11.05.10)
Patrick that's just a hurtful thing to say and it goes to show that you've never been to Israel, otherwise you wouldn't be making such untrue remarks.
