Hariri was one of the leaders of the revolution against Syria which for a very short time made Lebanon an independent state again rather than Syrian property. The syrians have had enough of playing the diplomatic game of we want to be friends with Lebanon now its down to come clean and say we want Lebanon back. Syria has never recognized Lebanons right to exist anymore than they recognize Israel. The Assads believe that both Lebanon and Israel are provinces of the Greater Syria that existed before WW1. I hope that Saad Hariri has made his funeral arrangements and Assad has put together a good story on how he is going to pin the killing on Israel.
