1. Decent Authors should speak out against cultural boycott
citizen   (11.12.10)
I would ask these two writers if they have ever written anything to counteract the vicious attacks against Israel. They can write, can't they? As to Banks, I was a fan until I read his letter in the Guardian where he urged writers and artists to “simply having nothing more to do with this outlaw state (Israel)”.
2. they can help in PR for Israel in their writings
pini ,   usrael   (11.12.10)
3. I THINK NOT
Ahmad ,   Nablus   (11.12.10)
Authers, Academics, artists and all thinkers must and should boycott Israel and its insitutions for its war on culture, literiture, and academia on the Palestinian territories, for example, the IAF had attacked Gaza two univeristies citing "terror labs" to turn out there was no labs in there. a boycott should continue and floursh against the ISraeli academia and universities for their refusal to sign a pettiont to allow freedom of edcation and free pasage of university students and academics on the Palestinian side, 90% of Israeli academia faculties and thinker stil refusing such basic human rights for freedom of education and thinking, so why would anyone with any fairness would break such an embarog and boycott to Israel? I wonder?
4. I have to disagree with Mr Finder
David ,   USA/ISRAEL/EGYPT   (11.12.10)
The media and the state of Israel failing to provide understanding of the true situation are nothing but excuses. Every human has a brain to use, you do not follow what other people do. You research before taking action. All those who are for the boycott are simply brainless followers. Sooner or later they will come across as stupid it never fails
5. where israil is standing ?

7. Money money money
juliette ,   jerusalem   (11.13.10)
of course they want to be translated!!! they need bread on the table! shame on them!
8. Authors, Naivete and Boycotts
Alex   (11.13.10)
It's rather naive to suggest that anyone who objects to the illegal occupation and settlement enterprise should boycott the Israeli government. The agenda of any elected government reflects the wishes of the electorate, even in a theocracy like Israel, and it's the electorate who should be held to account, not their government or the International Media.
9. Iain Banks
Alex Shilo ,   USA   (01.23.11)
Somebody shoulg translate his book "Wasp Factory" into Hebrew and let him come to Israel to collect the royalties
