It seems as if Seeger has made an important stand in saying he supports a single institution, but then his call for the complete boycott of an economy seems ridiculous. Is it possible that every one of these industries practices tyrannical oppression or perhaps it is just the outsider making claims with a vague familiarity of the situation. Like his assessment of Zionism, Pete Seeger is wrong. The entire world should take a good look at hat the peaceful surrounding Arab nations are not doing to resettle their own displaced persons population. A single Jewish nation, in a sea of hostile enemies, that has universal rights for all citizens, even those who do not enlist in compulsory service is not the problem. And a nation that allows government representation, even to hostile members of minority groups who call for the destruction of the state is not a violent aggressor.

His motto - even today -held that if you were strong you had to be wrong. Obama says much the same thing.

Seeger did not denounce Stalin until quite recently. He sucks up to dictators and fascists, as long as they are anti-American. His opinion on Israel is tainted by his history of hypocrisy.

Seeger like many others is missing the point, these are people who have waged war on Jews just for being there even before 1948. They have been waging war on Israel and the West for 60 years now. These people have had many many many occasions to have their own state and each time they turned it down to make more war. What is so unreasonable in telling them no when we all know their not-so-secret Phase Plan of annihilating Israel. Making a Palestinian state would be the worse decision Israel could ever make, this will not bring peace. Where were these peace lovers in 1948 when the Arabs attacked Israel or in 1967 when they were calling to wipe out all the Jews from the river to the sea. What was triggering them back in 1967, there were no territories and the Arabs controlled Judea and Samaria. Why didn't the Arabs make their own state for themselves then? Israel didn't choose to be in the West Bank the Arabs made us go there. You don't start a war and lose then start whining for a redo. People like Seeger really need to stick to what they are good at - making music - and not telling people how to live their lives.

"Wimoweh", or the "Lion sleeps tonight" was composed by a black South African composer. Seeger stole the tune and did not pay a cent in royalties etc. Nothing! The composer eventually died in poverty and only in recent times was his family able to mount a successful court action to claim royalties, but whether they got what was rightfully theirs is another question. I'm in my sixties and I've loved Pete Seeger as a performer alone and as a member of the Weavers--who were very popular once in Israel. However, although he has a good heart, like other performers, he does not have a very good head. Peace is not something you can pull out of a hat when others want to simply wipe you out. By boycotting Israel products he shows that he is at heart an anti-semite--for he is not boycotting those that purposely target and murder our civilians. An intelligent observer without an anti-Jewish prejudice would not come to boycot Israel. The Chamas targets Isreali kindergardens with Google maps. They want to add to the 2 million Jewish children murdered by the Nazis. How anyone with a functioning brain could blame us for defending ourselves is still a great mystery to me. We don't have to march into our murderors hands just to make closet anti-semites happy with us. Does he agree with Ghandi that all the Jews should have just walked passively into the gas chambers? Pete Seeger, a good voice, a good heart except for Jews, not a great mind by any means.

You stated minority Jews cannot rule majority Arabs forever, but you are mistaken Israel is nearly 80% Jews. The Jews are the majority. And the Arabs still have full legal and civil rights and protection under the law. If only the Jews in Arab lands were afforded the same protections as the Arab in a Jewish land. In the West Bank, an Arab is subject to the death penalty for selling land to a Jew. It makes me fear what a future Palestinian state may look like
