31. 2 interesting points
Paul ,   Israel   (10.23.10)
1. While I do not condone settling in the West Bank and abhor the disgusting way the Right Wing settlers behave, these soldiers protect these very same artists and their families from mass terror attacks. Remember what it was like in 2000-2004? THAT is why they are there, and they have to behave like they do, because the Palestinians have no conscience in exploiting (and to being exploited) "humane" problems in order to infiltrate terrorists. Their ambulances carry C4 and weapons. Their pregnant women have been caught smuggling bomb belts. What would they have us do, lie down and die? 2. Funny how there are never ANY dissenting voices heard fom the side of the Palestinians regarding THEIR attacks and brutality, isn't it? The fact that we allow these dissenting voices and have HRW movements proves that we are a democracy and it actually is our strength!
32. instead of observing & criticizing...
(10.23.10)
may-be they want to take coffee, cookies and cake for EVERYONE and then maybe they could just listen to what each side is saying as opposed to deciding what each side is or isn't!
33. The *IDF* is an army of evil? What planet are they on?
Zvi   (10.23.10)
The Hamas is an army of evil. The Syrian military too. Hezbollah. The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. The IDF is the ONLY army in the region that tries to protect innocent life. The ONLY one. And these hypocritical liars, most of whom did not serve themselves but are protected by the IDF nonetheless, dare to complain?
34. from the article, i still dont understand what the "beastly"
eporue ,   europe   (10.23.10)
behaviour was... looking at the passengers, as if they were "cockroaches" ? the sit/stand-thing sounds a bit like a misunderstanding, no ? what please was "beastly" and "evil" behaviour ?
35. Israeli artist- enemies of israel
avi ,   israel   (10.23.10)
the need is to get rid of these artists and transfer them to west bank and gaza so they could continue their cause from the other side.that would be accepatable.

You need to do more looking at the picture. Try re-reading this article again.
37. Actually, "Matty" #5, I have viewed the entrance
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (10.23.10)
on innumerable occasions. My question is, "Why haven't you?" Wait, it's your job to sit in your swivel chair pretending to know something without ever having the experience. Your credibility is lousy, "Matty", and our posters have now become thoroughly acquainted with your drivel. You really showed yourself for the ignoramus you are when you tried not long ago to deal with history and culture. You didn't like it when I showed how foolish you were when trying to deal with anything but the compilation of (selected) facts. I suppose that's why you are trying to put me down. Sorry, "Matty", we do know you for the (poor) propagandist you are.
38. IDF's detractors never condemn actions of those who IDF face
DR ,   UK   (10.23.10)
Having served in the British military my colleagues and I have always held a massive respect for the IDF. It's presence in the midst of so many hostile entities - within and outside the country - needs a multitude of strengths/abilities. I would direct critics to the comments/youtube videos of British Col. Richard Kemp who was a senior officer commanding in Afghanistan. Although not perfect by a long chalk, for a largely conscript army the IDF remains one of the best trained, best equipped and most experienced militaries in the world. Israel usually has to fight with 'one hand tied behind it's back' in case it causes too many enemy casualties, too much collateral damage - usually against enemies operating from among civilians - or in case it imposes upon international borders (eg in 1973, after nearly being overwhelmed by the surprise, combined attacks of the Arab world, the Israelis were within range of both Cairo and Damascus when the Russians stepped in with threats of world war 3 if the Israelis didn't stop). They have been forced to stop mid-flow by diplomatic pressure in virtually every conflict that they have engaged in. Arab/Islamic enemies have displayed an almost uniform level of barbarity when facing Israeli soldiers. Hezbollah, Hamas, PLO et al have shown a total disregard for the normal rules of warfare. The treatment of Israeli prisoners, body parts et al were a forewarning of what was to come in Afghanistan and Iraq. Even combat soldiers allegedly fighting on the same side have been known to turn their weapons upon their allies. Facing such unqualified barbarism towards their own kind the Israelis learned never to leave a wounded or dead colleague behind if possible. Against an adversary who doesn't respect normal levels of morality, despite their possession of any qualitative or quantitative advantage, surprise, deception, or whatever, there are no points for second best and they cannot afford to lose one major conflict. Ineed it was not for nothing that British soldiers were taught, when facing similar foes, to keep the last 'round' for themselves and avoid capture. Very few countries have had much experience with direct major conventional engagements until recent years and often heavily relied upon the experience of the Israelis, even in dealing with suicide bombings, IED's and attacks by irregulars such as in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Israel Air Force has outshone Western air forces in numerous mock air combat from the 1970's to the present day. It's performance in actual combat against Arab enemies is historically documented for all to see. Like many national forces in the public eye, attention is garnered by the world's media upon the slightest alleged wrongdoing of any serviceman/woman, whether corroborated or not. Their Arab/Islamic enemies have seized upon this for their vilification. Such has been the case with the US, UK, IDF and other forces. Far worse offenders are largely ignored as is the conduct becoming those in the Arab world until it affects the former entities. This report indeed is based upon uncorroborated allegations. In other arenas it wouldn't see the light of day because of this, but such is the nature of the 'beast' facing Israel, that totally disproportionate publicity is bound to ensue. Conspicuous by their absence here among Israel's detractors are any condemnation of the conduct of those who the IDF face on a daily basis. This puts things in their proper context.
39. Another case of Stockholm Syndrome ...
Lee ,   Manchester UK   (10.23.10)
either put this individual in a psyche ward or strip him of Israeli nationality, drive him to Nablus or the Gaza border and shut the gate behind him. These are your most dangerous enemies Jewish anti-Zionists that have no clue of reality. They don't get it that Zionism has kept their ancestors ALIVE. I pity them all. Why does Israel single herself out as weak by it's indifference to offences like these?
