They travel in taxis rather than buses, they pay prostitutes, do you see any black hats look like they're starving? I personally know of many ultra Orthodox people who claim benefits but travel abroad six times a year. The whole thing stinks!

How can 5 live on 3,000? Bring it down to 4 for a start. These guys just keep on having babies saying that God will provide, but it isn't God providing, it's we secular citizens providing for them!

The same happens here in our community, in Boro Park, Brooklyn, NY. By writing it in Hebrew makes it a evil secret. Every body knows it is fraudulent. Same with the food stamps scam.

34. it is against the law in israel for yeshiva students to work

anyone who is interested in the history of why the Israeli yeshiva student (as opposed to yeshiva students in other countries) needs government support should definitely read this: http://www.azure.org.il/download/magazine/1329az_11_rebibo.pdf ...
i came across this remarkable article investigating this same topic for my own blog (unfinished, maybe some time in future, nonetheless at: http://supportyeshivastudents.webs.com/apps/blog/ )
the uniqueness of the Israel situation regarding yeshiva students is that early on the state made a ruling that, in exchange for not enlisting yeshiva students in the army, they could remain learning on condition that they never work … i wish i can underline that …. the conditions for opting-out of being drafted is that they can never work!!! that is like giving away your G-d given right to earn a living just because you don’t believe in serving in the army …. for a number of reasons (not tzniusdik, forced to evacuated Jews from Israel land, etc…) this prohibition to work also was applied to going to college, trade school, living or working on a kibbutz or moshav .... anything that can improve a person's financial status ... the gov't of Israel has legally denied to the hareidi ...
so, because of this ruling removing kollel students from the G-d given right of earning a living and enrolling in schools of higher education (how come the U.N. never investigated this as a major human rights violation issue???) these people have been forcefully deprived of a lifelong income in Israel and they have become …. through no original interest of their own … supported so as not to starve to death …. it happens no where else in the world but in Israel … in America, kollel students run businesses, work and sell Judaica out of their homes, go to college, work part time as computer consultants and psychologists, etc, etc… but in Israel … it is against the law for kollel/yeshiva students to work or go to college… simply because they have not served in the army …. it’s that simple…..
