After being held in jail many people will admit to anything. I'm sure he had no expectations of a fair trial. We must no give up. We have to fight to protect this land from ourselves. Arise and Build

In most countries, he would be summarily executed. Even countries that have abolished the death penalty for all crimes have retained a "special circumstances" provision whereby treason and/or espionage on behalf of the enemy during time of war is a capital offense. Ten years is nothing, considering Makhoul's crimes. Upon completion of his prison term, I hope he will be stripped of Israeli citizenship and deported.

The difference is that Makhoul did it for ideological reasons; the ones that spy for Israel against Hizbollah do it for cold, hard cash. People who commit treason for ideological reasons are by far and away the more dangerous of the two.
10. we could learn some lessons from Hezbollah
zionist forever   (10.27.10)
When they arrest somebody they claim to be an Israeli spy they execute them. they don't do plea bargains and let them off easy. Its all he deserves. If we are not going to be copying Hezbollahs example then he should have his citizenship revoked and given a life sentence not 7 years because he did a deal. If we are going to let this traitor get away with only 7 years for conspiring with terrorists then I dread to think how easy Anat Kam is going to get off... probably a slap on the wrist if this example is anything to go by.
