31. Turkish Army uncivilised
sam   (11.01.10)
they beat and sentence minors to jail, sentence a mother of six to jail , kill defenceless frail old men and women, this is absurd, monstrous. why would Erdogan open his rabbit like teeth to accuse Israel over hamas.
32. I think the jews here are probably living in another planet
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.01.10)
The article is provocative also the comments. There are 20 million Kurds living in Turkey in peace except 3-4,000 terrorists. These terrorists are financed by some countries that we all know. If somebody starts to crash the glasses of the shops, damages cars etc.. what kind of a treatment should our police can do ? One thing is giving more rights , one thing is giving a land. Do not mix this. They will never have a land in Turkey but for sure more rights in time.
33. Re #22
Andrew Brehm   (11.01.10)
Kurdistan doesn't need a coast. Aid can be sent via Iraq. Let's see if the Turks allow the transport in without checking it and let's see if the Turks don't fight back if the activists attack them!
34. Emre
Ehud ,   TA   (11.01.10)
Can you explain why 20 million Kurds in Turkey do not have a right to political and territorial independence, but 3-4 million Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza do? Is there one standard for Turkey and another for Israel?
35. Same because we have shared enemies us and turkey
Omri ,   Israel   (11.01.10)
Turkey may be abusing its power alittle here but their war on PKK is justifide. That should have been enough to let us understand each other, too bad islam got in the way. By by ataturk legacy, hello old crumbling-rusty-corrupted ottoman empire.
36. Kurds were promised a country in 1919
Sami ,   New York, USA   (11.01.10)
Kurds were promised a country in 1919 at the Treaty of Versailles. Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq stole their land.
37. #34 OF COURSE I CAN EXPLAIN
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.01.10)
Ehud The kurds were and are always lived with Turks for centuries . We lived in peace, we have fighted together against enemies etc.. The population is not the case, the spirit is different. We never see them as hostile like you do to Palestinians. There were many Kurd presidents in Turkey. The only things we should improve is to give them more rights. If they would like to be educated in their language we should give them. If they want Kurdish TV we need to give them, which we already did. If the population is the case there are 3,5 million Turks living in Germany. Should we start crying to have land in Germany tomorrow ? Please be a little bit rational and do not mix things...
38. Re #32
Andrew Brehm   (11.01.10)
And why not land? The world says the Palestinians have a right to have a state, despite the fact that they are not a nation but part of the Arab nation which already has many many countries. The Kurds have NOTHING. Instead the Turks and Arabs are occupying their land. Why is that legal? Why don't have the Kurds even a small percentage of the rights Arabs and Turks have? Palestinian terrorists are also financed by some countries that we all know. Until a short time ago those were the same countries.
39. #32 - but why criticize Israel's actions against "Pals"?
William ,   Israel   (11.01.10)
Let's look at your post. You claim that 20 million Kurds live in peace with you, except for 3000 that are violent. We have a good number of Arabs that live in peace with us, except for many more thousands who target civilians and work for our destruction, under the names of Hamas, PA, PLO, PFLP, PRC, etc. So when your handful of Kurds act violently, you feel justified to treat them harshly, despite their break windows of shops, and damaging cars. But when our police react the same as your's against "Palestinians" who instead target buses full of civilians, coffee shops, playgrounds, etc. you get upset. Truly, your people are incredibly hypocritical and uncivilized.
40. There were never a Kurdistan in History
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.01.10)
Andrew Palestinians had a land in the history where Israel is now. With all my respect i should say after Israel built her country, they lost their land. And everyday they are loosing a part because Israel's policies. But in the History Kurds had never have a land or country. They always lived as a minority in some Countries. And we are living together in peace even right now. Do not believe the articles in the news, they are trying to force the people think in their way. Look this article , look Erdogans picture. I think they have found the worst picture of him to serve :)... I always respected Jews as human being, because they are all wise people. But it doens't mean that we confirm all the actions we find wrong....
41. #39 AGAIN HUMILIATION ?
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.01.10)
We all know nowadays that some Israelis have some humiliation culture. Uncivilized.... what a wonderful self polishing word ! William if somebody crashes the windows and cars even you are a jew you got jailed. It is not depending on Nationality. Palestians are living in their land area, if you go there with a panzer and tear down their houses it is something different. What i was explaining was happening in our country and cities. I always rejected the self destructing (live bomb) culture of palestinians and i strongly against it. And i was in Israel working for a Turkish company at that time. I know this pshycology, i felt it like a jew.
42. To Emre #40
marucho ,   Bs. Aires Argentina   (11.01.10)
Mr. Emre, I should remember you that the land where Israel, Gaza, The West Bank, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Irak, Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and so, are nowadays, it all belonged to the Ottoman Empire up until 1918. Can you tell us where the palestinian nation was located in that time?
43. Hypocrite Turkey - so true
S_B ,   Spain   (11.01.10)
I am from Turkey, although from a different ethnic group. Turkey is a land of several ethnic groups, yet people don't tolerate each other. I don't know how it used to be in the past, but now the Sunni citizens are full of hatred against all non-Muslims, mainly Kurds due to the media 'efforts'. Because Kurds want better living conditions, health and education services is a reason enough to demonize them. A few months ago Turkish soldiers shot two Kurdish villagers just because they looked like "terrorist". It turned out they farmers, collecting oregano. And it was only one day news in the big newspapers! Another thing I don't understand is the heavily media hatred against Israel. Any little wrong thing Israel does gets exaggerated as if Israelis are the devils on earth. But, USA or Germany or other EU countries are tolerated. And of course no negative commends are written about the Muslim countries! If one gets to ask to some random people on the street in Turkey why the poverty is increasing so much, I am sure Jews will be one of the most popular reasons.
44. To Emre the Turk
S_B ,   Spain   (11.01.10)
The most popular belief about the PKK is that it is supported by some outside powers who want to hinder the development of Turkey. Everythime I hear that I want to laugh my a.. off. It is like a fairy tale. The question that should be asked is that "So what if they are supported by others?" They still have every right to have their autonomy. In Spain, Catalan people live under Spain and still keep their own language and laws as an autonomous community. It works in Spain so why shouldn't it work with Kurds in Turkey?
45. To: No. 40
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.01.10)
There was never a "Palestine," either. So, by your standard of measurement, the "Palestinians" have as much right to a country as do the Kurds in Turkey, right?
46. Emre - you are mistaken
Dina   (11.01.10)
Sorry , but the Palestinians land is not in fact Israel, and they did not loose their land when Israel became a state. The Palestinians, were in most part , what is known today as Jordanian . And would not have lost anything if Jordan had not attacked Israel. We can argue about Geography , but that must be settled with talks , I hope very soon. Gaza is in fact Egypt, got any idea why the Egyptians don't want them back...? So if Kurds were never a nation, then what happened to Kurdistan? and why are they not Turks? how come they are Kurds? Strange..........
47. To: No. 41
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.01.10)
Six wars, all started by the Arabs; all won by Israel. We get to call the shots, whether you like it or not. And then there is the little matter of nearly seventy years of "Palestinian" violence and terror. What would you have Israel do?
48. To Emre The Turk: In the History Kurds did have countries!
S_B ,   Spain   (11.01.10)
Kurds had their own lands and kingdoms just as Palestinians. Mervaniler (Marwanid:990-1085), Sheddadiler (Shaddadid: 951-1199), Luristan Atabeyligi (Hazaraspids: 1148-1424), and last but not least Kingdom of Kurdistan (1922-1924) are among the dynasties and kingdoms that Kurds had in the history. So now, are they more eligible to settle their own autonomous community?
49.  TURK EMRE #40 there has never been a palestinian nation
john   (11.01.10)
May i remind you there has never been a land known as Palestine governed by palestinians , even during the brutal occupation by the Turkish Empire.Palestinians are Arabs indistinguishable from Arabs throughout the middle east.It was only after the jews re-inhabited their historic homeland of Judea and Samaria that the myth of an Arab Palestinian nation was created and marketed worldwide. Please note much of the Arab population in the area actually migrated into Judea and Samaria from the surrounding Arab countries in the past 100 years.
50. #40 - um, "Palestinians" had a land in history??
William ,   Israel   (11.02.10)
Exactly when? Palestine was a region that was never sovereign, but under Byzantine, Roman, and Ottoman rule before the British Mandate. Little acknowledged fact (for good reason) is that most Arabs who claim themselves as "Palestinians" arrived illegally in the 1930s as economic migrants. The British census cited 20 languages spoken among this population, even Bosnian, but you claim they are natives to the land. The only sovereign piece of land called Palestine in history was in Syria and cited by Herodotus in 5th century BC, far away from Jerusalem. Conversely, Kurds had years of autonomy over their land, including Hasanwayhids, the Marwanids, the Shaddadids, followed by the Ayyubid dynasty. They have a coherent distinct language and a history of governance. Produce the same for "Palestinians" and we'll talk. Right now, they can't even produce a land deed beyond some rusty key with a lyrical fantasy about grandfather's olive tree and loyal donkey.
51. #41 - was the use of "panzer" and Freudian slip?
William ,   Israel   (11.02.10)
Are you equating Israelis with Nazis by using the term "Panzer"? Quite childish and indicative of a culture of mass disinformation. There are only two reasons any Arab's home would be taken down - 1) it was built illegally, or 2) it was used to plan a terrorist attack on civilians and the family there was part of the plan. If neither are proven (and I mean really proven) the demolition is cancelled. What I see as hypocritical is Arab demands to stop Jewish building but give free reign to Arab building all over the place, without permits or supervision. BTW, if a Jew built without permits it too would be demolished.
52. @ jae , lynn usa
MikeyMike ,   United Kingdom   (11.02.10)
Sorry Lynn, which school did you go to? Arabs have no History??? For your information Arabs are also Semetic so how can they be ANTI Semetic? Furthermore, Theu do have a history, they lived happily with the Jews before 1947. It was only after the Askanazi Jews decided you wanted someone elses lad coz God "gave" it to you.
53. HISTORY LESSON FOR YTNET JEWS
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.02.10)
Dear all ,Palestine was a land before 1516. After Yavuz Sultan Selim has conquered Palestine, it connected to Ottoman Empire for 400 years. After the conquer ,Ottoman has divided Palestine into 3 regions: Jerusalem (Kudus), Gazze and Nablus. In 1917 the British army has conquered Palestine and comprimised to build a Jewish land etc.. So there was a land of Palestine but inside Ottoman Emperor.
54. #48 VERY FUNNY
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.02.10)
Kingdom of the Kurds :) . I said there was never a Kurdistan. Of course there was some lands in the history which the lurds were living like they are today. But what is the Kingdom of Kurdistan. Who was your king :)
55. #44 You may laugh with wherever you want this is the Truth
EMRE THE TURK ,   ISTANBUL   (11.02.10)
We had a livebomb 3 days ago in the heart of Istanbul and it was a bomb origined Austria ( Osterreich). Whether you believe or not Europe do es not want a powerful Turkey , so it is the same for others like Israel, Greece, Armenia etc..But the reality is whatever they do it will not effect us. Once we get used to live in hard conditions we never fear from such stupid actions. And You my friend will never have a land in our country. You like spain ? Stay there with Catalans !
56. To: No. 52
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.02.10)
Okay, go back to bed and take your pretty colored little pills. Cretin.
57. #'s53 & 54 Emre
Hal ,   Usa   (11.03.10)
So smart guy, name a Palestinian King or Leader before Hitler's Grand Mufti Husseini, Arafat's uncle? You cannot because, Emre, it never happened. You say Palestine was a sovereign country and not a territory? How did Turkish people end up in their present land, by flying saucer? Your historical analysis is in a word bogus.
