I'm afraid I don't follow, Ms. Hartley... Sometimes I'm kinda slow. ;-)
32. Israel is not canada
Mike ,   Sydney, Australia   (11.03.10)
The world set us up as a Jewish state, and then perversely, cynically and shamefully expected - and to this day - expects us to rather be just like them. I don't care if Herzl dreamed it too- he was wrong: we are not like them. We surely have Gentiles living with us recorded in Talmud, but note that they are expected to behave in accordance with the Jewishness of the state. This is as it should be. Zohar, just like so many others that make up Israel's unwitting - if well meaning - 5th column, makes the mistake of listening to the Frances and Swedens of this world. Tsk. We GAVE the world human rights- dont look to others to tell us how to behave. Israel is uniquely for the Hebrew nation. Stop thinking more European than the Europeans - be Jewish, be Israeli. It is irrelevant what israel signed if it contradicts the nature and purpose of our country. Israel is not a place for the permanent settlement of refugees other than Jews. How many pieces of us can be taken before there's nothing left? In Torah, you can't feed a poor person if that means your own family goes hungry that night. To do so is stealing from them! We have every right to prioritise ourselves with the tiny sliver of land finally 'allowed' to us.
