1. Good!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.10)
It's amazing that the "Palestinians" are the only non-nation with observer status at the United Nations and membership in United Nations organizations, something reserved for sovereign states. It's about time Israel started to cut its ties to the United Nations. The organization was hijacked by anti-Israel, anti-Jewish and anti-Zionist members long ago. Why the hell is Israel still even a member?
2. If islam were to build a mosque over Washingtons tomb
Galut ,   Selah   (11.03.10)
.......and UNESCO can in and said to america you can no longer claim this a a national heitage site.... what do you suppose the american people would say?
3. they have it all backwards
Barney ,   USA   (11.03.10)
it is the mosque that should be removed as it is only to hijack a Jewish site as well as the gold mosque that is to hijack another important Jewish site.
4. Thank you Mr. Ayalon.
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (11.03.10)
It's long overdue for Israel to remove itself from the stench of the international organization of antisemites.
5. I don't get it - the PA says the same thing,
Schreiber   (11.03.10)
so why doesn't the government cut ties with them as well? But, no. The PA is allowed to say anything they want and the government does not take offense. Au contraire, it can't wait to give them some extra Jewish land for a state of their own. Truly, I don't get it.
6. #2: Not "If", but "When"
Charles ,   Paris, FRANCE   (11.03.10)
It's not "If islam were to build a mosque over Washingtons tomb" but rather "When" This country (France) is a lost cause, but the US is not -- yet. Let's hoped America shows some spine, something that's completely lacking in Europe, and stops funding anti-Semitic and hate-filled UNESCO.
7. Thank-you Mr.Ayalon / As for #2
Simcha ,   So.Cal.USA   (11.03.10)
Pres.Obma would try to ram it through congress and jam it down our throats.
8. it is a fact that the site is not in israel!
giving up hope ,   state of dwarfs   (11.03.10)
when on thinks it can't come worth, our statemen are farting another' chuchme' making us facing disastrous consequences. Tell me, what is the problem that a site is valuable to 2 religions?? Nevertheless it is a fact that the site is NOT situated in Israel.... What is this arrogant elitistic behaviour ? It is typically for the political discrimination of moslem values in this country. (By the way I am jewish) Since the last elections, diplomacy is being reduced to minus zero. Our foreign minister seems to be something between a frightend rabbit and a agressive hamster
9. Unesco need a big NO!!!!!!
Anna M Sedda ,   Italy   (11.03.10)
10. israel must demand arabs remove mosque from all jewish site
ralph   (11.03.10)
11. Sharing is okay
Daniels ,   TA and DC   (11.03.10)
The time has come for Israel and Muslims to totally share these sites. Israel should construct places of Torah study above the tombs of the Patriarchs and Rachel's Tomb and start construction of the Bet Mikdash OVER the mosque in Jerusalem. Never denying the Muslims the right to worship on these holy sites but forcing them to completely share them.
12. More intresting and relevent question is
Victor   (11.03.10)
Can Islam claim it as national heritage?....
13. #1 FYI Puerto Rico has observer status @ UN!
Aliza Cohen ,   Jerusalem   (11.03.10)
Presumably as someone who lives in the United States you are aware of the fact that Puerto Rico is the oldest colony in the World having spent over 400 years as a colony of Spain and over 100 years as a colony of the United States. Despite its status as the oldest colony in the world Puerto Rico has a permanent representative in the United Nations. In other words Sarah Bee please learn history before you speak otherwise it comes out weak! ;-)
14. and this action is helpful diplomacy...because...?
Sally Forth ,   Jerusalem of course!   (11.03.10)
15. Very good!
Kjell Andersen ,   Kristiansand Norway   (11.03.10)
Very good. A wise and correct decision. At the time that Israel rejects Palestinian cooperation with pro bodies that do not excite for a purpose other than to smear Israel.
16. :: Sarah BS - #1
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (11.03.10)
Sure go ahead, I’m sure nobody will protest, you can join the likes of Taiwan, Kosovo and Vatican City. Heck why don’t you leave and start your own little ‘united nations club’ with a membership of less than five? Wouldn’t that be nice?
17. suspending ties.....?
les ,   canada   (11.03.10)
good morning dear israel! you have just realized that the United Nerds, of israel and jew hateing, arab collection of beggers, are just using you as a punching bag? can you imagine this outfit would have voted for the establishment of a jewis state? is there any good reason to waste time and money to even be there? PLEASE DO NOT ANSWER.......
18. I raise my middle finger to UNESCO!
shadoil ,   Jerusalem   (11.03.10)
19. no.8 - What'u smokin?
Ram ,   London   (11.03.10)
20. The UN like the League of Nations is irrelevant!
UN=Arab League2   (11.03.10)
21. Kick the UN out of Israel all together!
Jason   (11.03.10)
22. Israel's Heritage
Moragh   (11.03.10)
I am so glad to read that Israel is finally beginning to stand on their two feet. Tell the loathesome muslims to get the hell off Holy Ground.... isn't that what the Lord G-D calls His land which he gave to His beloved people, the people of Biblical Israel which have stood the Tests of Time. From Genesis One can start to read about the land of ISRAEL.
23. To number 8. You must a be a leftist or a stupid Jew or both
Ari ,   Romania-Israel   (11.03.10)
Yes those sight are valuable for the two religions, so what if it is declare a Jewish Heritage site? Nobody said(for now), to destry the Mosques. The real fact behind this, is that Moslems where ever they go they want to rewrite History special in Israel to erase all traces of Jewish Tradition,History or Rights. To insinuate that there is no Jewish connection to Jerusalem like the WAKF afirmas is not elitist? When the Jordanians came into the OLd City and destroy Synagogues and Desecrate the Mount of Olives Cemmetery, and then declare East Jeruslem Judenrein, what was that, not elitist? You are such self jwe hater, that it makes me puke
24. The UNESCO is only a tool of the Arab
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.03.10)
propaganda...The UNESCO is pure b.s....
25. site of a mosque?
had enough   (11.03.10)
rachels tomb is on site of a mosque?? so tell the arabs to take down al aqusa on the temple mount because its the site of our holy temple!!
26. To: No. 16
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.10)
Yes, it would. Hey, Batty, how'd you like the outcome of the U.S. elections yesterday? You know; the ones whose outcome you were convinced would be a strong show of support for the policies of Hussein Obama and the Democrats? Well, you're wrong a lot, Batty. I'm sure you'll take it in stride.
27. Maybe he was right after all?
Johnny ,   Stockholm Sweden   (11.03.10)
Dear...
28. #16 - The day will come when all the
Arthur ,   SF, CA   (11.03.10)
worms of the world will be crying and begging to be accepted to our "little" club. Your plea will be answered with your stupid posts on Ynet. Enjoy the darkness....
29. $50 says that #8 (giving up hope) is NOT Jewish.
sk ,   USA   (11.03.10)
He certainly is unintelligible. In fairness, though, the site is properly part of Judea (Yehudah) not Israel. What Ayalon and his fellow Israelis really need to do is give Jewish land to Medinat Yehudah.
30. Eliza (13)
sk ,   USA   (11.03.10)
The "Palestinians" are not a nation, which is why "they" are the only non-national group to have observer status. One can argue that Puerto Rico is a nation. Thus, #1 was correct. Anyway, who cares about Puerto Rico? The question is whether you care about Jews.
