1. and
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.04.10)
Imagine if the Iranians asked Obama to reduce some of the pressure on Iran in exchange for not attacking the Straits of Hormuz in December. Would Obama risk +$100 / barrel oil at the height of winter?
2. "Buying in"
Hal ,   Usa   (11.04.10)
The only people that buy into the crimminal regime's bull is Mahmood of UKistan, Pietro IL Viennese and the Catnip addict of the Persian persuasion. La regime crimminal has a shelf life that is rapidly coming to it's expiration date. The socalled Islamic revolution in Iran would have gone nowhere without the help and push by the bazzari's {shopkeepers]. When the middle of society goes againt the regime, it is toast! Sayonara Nanodinkeyjad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Oil is UP
Ron ,   OC, USA   (11.04.10)
And, If Iran is still hurting the best way to press Iran is to buy a Prius, Focus, Fiesta, Insight, Sentra, Cube, Civic or anything but an SUV and Iran may eat grass to get the bomb. But, this regime will cave under its own weight.
4. Iran`s economy should collapse faster
Nora Tel Aviv   (11.04.10)
Before a Hizballah " Coup d`Etat " transformes Lebanon into Hizballahstan.
5. Wishful thinking
IRAN#1   (11.04.10)
The cut in subsidies has been in works for the past 5 years. It is going to finally be put into effect next month. Stop lyingto your readers, the sacntions have not affected Iranain petorl supply, Iran shifted production from other petro chemiclas to gasoline, problem solved. France however is runnign out of petrol :)
6. Wishful Thinking
W. ,   Beirut, Lebanon   (11.04.10)
Iran will never give up on its nuclear ambitions, peacefully. North Korea was, and is still, boycotted to starvation, where people ate tree bark and cannibalism became rampant, and still the tyrannical regime of Kim never yielded. Now, it's even worse, N. Korea is making money out of exporting WMD technology to rogue nations. Iran is in, a much, better situation and on the verge of detonating its first A Bomb, so whoever thinks that the Ayatollahs will give up, easily, is day-dreaming.
7. Yeah right..We've been hearing this for 30+ years.
Piruz ,   France   (11.04.10)
Iran is drying up?Because it's cutting subsidies? At least they don't go on sympathy trips in the US and EU begging for aid. They earn their keep. If you're betting on the downfall of Iran, you'll be holding your breath for a very ,very long time.Oil's going up to $100 bucks.Guess who'll be "drying up"...
8. Our Beloved Aryan motherland Iran
mithrades Aryan ,   USA   (11.04.10)
What you dont tell your poor misinformed readers is that Iran is an Industrialized nation in possession of advanced technologies. Iran is expanding on already huge petrochemical and refinning capacities to nullify the childish and absurd "pressures" that the west is putting on iran. I got news for you, the last hurdle is the construction of Turbine Jet engines for planes which is in the works, once completed, Iran has absolutely NO NEED for the outside world
9. Why doesn't Israel ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.04.10)
... which knows full well the extent of Iranian aid to terrorist organizations, which numbers in the billions of dollars, and can document it irrefutably, share some of what they know with the rest of the world? In a very public manner. That would make some countries sit up and take notice and it would most certainly have a profound effect within Iran, whose citizens probably do not want to sit in the dark four to six hours every day just so that Hizbollah can have some military hardware. At the very least, it's worth a try. Not necessarily the most sensitive intelligence; just the items that are sure to irritate Iranians back home.
10. To: No. 7
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.04.10)
Why are the French so stupid? Why not purchase oil from Nigeria, at deeply discounted prices? The quality is better than that of Iran.
11. Iran NOT QUITE DRY YET!
John ,   London, UK   (11.04.10)
Some of the information here is fact, but lets not write it as if the government and the system is about to crash or pack up and go home! They are challenged, but they have been ever since 1979! We should move on from looking for excuses and blaming others for our problems which are all the fault of our own governments! WAKE UP CALL! ! !
12. but there's plenty of money for the terrorists
dante ,   uk   (11.05.10)
the terrorists in gaza, lebanon? no problem. no shortage of funds.
13. The Pro-Iran Faction
Rob ,   USA   (11.05.10)
It is always very enlightening to see how an article like this strikes a raw nerve with the distorted minds out there who throw their support behind the abominable perversion called present day Iran. It is difficult to conceive that the best this pathetic ilk of crackpots can do is harness the obvious visceral frustration of their present lot in life by aligning themselves with the plight of the insane Ayatollah's But then one has to realize that they do, in fact, have much in common and their fate will likely be the same.
14. to #6
Barney ,   USA   (11.05.10)
great, is this what the poor innocent iranian people have to look forward to? cannibalism and tree bark. go monkey man! you are the best. i bet your people love you. same problem over and over-primitive islamic extremist mentality
15. Iran is a steaming cesspool of hatred
Alan tarko ,   Los angeles   (11.05.10)
The gov't is using the same tactics many Arab states use to hide the incompetency. Blame the Jews and israel Its all they can do to explain where the oil money is going. They rob the poor and run a Shia theocracy.
16. Very well then, #5 - #8...
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (11.05.10)
You have all successfully convinced me why economic sanctions on Iran do not work. And in so doing, you have laid the case for the military strike which these sanctions were meant to avoid.
17. Analysis
Sid ,   USA   (11.05.10)
Iranians are extremely shrewed when it comes to survival ... they have done it for thousands of years. Sanctions has only helped them to become self sufficient. I can assure you neither they nor us or israel will do anything ... this is all just a ploy to sell billions of $$$ worth of weapons to people who can barely read the instructions ... good for Israel/US/Iran ... bad for the A-rabs who dont know who is stealing their money faster .... haha.
18. About the media
R ,   Israel   (11.05.10)
Interesting article. I don't understand why the media isn't reporting it. You report every boycott, every slur against Israel but ignore this - we deserve some good news now and then.
19. Tell us another one...
Scott ,   USA   (11.05.10)
20. Doesn't know what he's talking about
Max   (11.05.10)
A recent segment on 60 minutes showed miles of trucks transporting gasoline from Kurdistan to Iran. So much for the boycott.
21. Hard to believe, but I agree with Iran #5
m   (11.05.10)
Of course it's wishful thinking and fantasy on top. Bechor is trying to lull our fears into compliance of not acting.
22. ARE YOU TELLING US.................#9 AND #10
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.05.10)
That Israelis Intelligence has more than the world combined together? What is it that you will share that is unknown to others?Stop making a futile attemp on the talk-back as you are getting nowhere for the last four years. And by the way, you state that the Iranian crude is inferior to the Nigerian one!!Really, then the Nigerians are fools, aren't they Sarah? Only you happen to be an intelligent person around.Stop it Sarah as we are getting tired.
23. Iran will never be poorer than North Korea.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.05.10)
The author may be correct that Iran is drying up due to sanctions. However, Iran will never be poorer than North Korea, and North Korea built nuclear bombs. The sanctions do not change the fact that Israel must destroy Iran's ability to build nuclear bombs and fast.
24. HAL GETS AN OPPORTUNITY..........#2
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.05.10)
To scribble a para or two every time there is a news item against Iran.Happy lot you belong to,Hal.If it was not for you, where would we look for 'humor in uniform'.Oh yaa!! The Iranian Government is strong enough although your clowns have been trying for long to somehow disrupt it in many ways.So long as these types of articles appear,we remain assured of your frustration.Keep up the good work..............as we know, you hardly have anything else to do.
25. YOU SHOULD DIRECT YOUR............#8
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.05.10)
Attention to the likes of Sarah and Hal,who are confining to the narrow field of knowledge about Iran and pick their stories from Fox.................their favourite channel.Well done and thank you for your talk-back.
26. #'s 22,24 & 25 MooMoo
Hal ,   Usa   (11.06.10)
If it wasn't for you Mahmood, the rest of the posters here wouldn't have you to laugh at. You carry water for a crimminal regime and seem proud of it. What a complete idiot you are. Frustration is another way of saying Mahmood. You also post as an expert on your favorite subject, the crime syndicate govt of the Islamic Revolting Republic. From your vantage point as Pakistani Ambassador to Pickadilly you can see Tehran from your back door. Also Mahmood, in every attempt at humor or attacking me you infer that there are more than one of you. You always use the word "we". Why? Are your personalities multiple or are you seeking consensus for your ridiculous comments? If by "we " you are aknowledging Peter from the Vienna Woods, I am happy for your lack of isolation. Then you imply that I watch Fox[not news]. Wrong! That might be Sarah's pastime but hardly mine you dolt. If you check the rest of the site Mahmood, you will notice that I tend to comment on many subjects besides Iran. Unlike you I have something to say. Getting back to your choice of "frustration" as a term you use to define me. I would substitute the word "elation" when you respond to my comments. I love it when you attack me Mahmood. You prove to all what a nincompoop you are. Putting Sarah and me together is a bit much as I have ribbed her as well, but being obtuse and angry keeps you from noticing details like that. As far as your paradise Iran is concerned, you know as well as I that they [the crimminal regime] is circling the drain, your delusions not withstanding. The truth is that the good people of Iran are hurting on many levels, but being a butt-boy for the Nanodude, you don't really care. How incredibly shallow of you as you come from another failed state, Pakistan that is full of misery. Show some compassion Mahmood. It will help you at your day job at the pizza pie shop. Maybe you could start by being nice to your customers, or are you the pizza nazi of London? No slice for you for two weeks!
27. Iran choking
joe guest ,   fort Worth, U.S.A.   (11.06.10)
Iran is choking because they have the strong hand of God holding them back. Israel has to do what they need to do , when they must and they don't need interference from the U.S.A. Don't go against God, Obama!
28. WELL TRIED HAL.................................#26
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.06.10)
The rubbish you have directed towards me on a personal note makes it no good. Iran is not drying up,Hal.You hardly discuss the subject and always direct your talk-back to me on a personal note.Once again a hearty laugh...........yes,by us.
29. Iran is literally drying up
Cynthia ,   USA   (11.06.10)
Iran is currently experiencing the worst drought in 64 years with severe impact on Southern and Central Iran. Not only is this damaging domestically grown agriculture which Iran depends on as a food source, but also Iran's #2 export product, pistachio nuts. Iran's loss in the pistachio industry is a US gain as Central California growers embrace the market, particularly the Asian market. Back at the ranch, Ahmadinejad tries to stop the bleed with his subsidy cuts. As if he hasn't done enough damage. While he's caught shipping weapons of destruction all over the world, he increases the price of food and energy costs to the people.
30. The Right Path
John Prophett ,   USA   (11.06.10)
Israeli capitulation will not bring peace, it will only bring the end for Israel. The evil that's slithering around Israel will not be sated by capitulation it will only be emboldened by it. The right path requires Israel to crush the head of the serpent, failure to do so will end Israel for good.
