I have long explained in these talkbacks how America could arrange an open-ended truce with the al-Qaeda resistance. The results of the recent midterm elections, however, proves that the American electorate learned nothing from the recent past. They have increased the Ziocon contingent in Congress. So the attacks will continue, regrettably. Many, I trust most, will be thwarted, but enough of them will succeed to inflict pain on us for our obstinacy.
