1. Spitting in the face of taxpayers
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.06.10)
We pay taxes and we are entitled to equal treatment from all public funded services. Anyone is free to leave the publically funded repertory groups and find employment in the private sector. Their choice.
2. definition of lunatics
Michael ,   Haifa   (11.06.10)
Maybe the true lunatics are those who pretend that there is Culture in Ariel
3. Ariel didn't belong to Palestinians before the war!
michael redbourn ,   Arad - Israel   (11.06.10)
These so called artists are mostly only remarkable for their ignorance. Fact! The West Bank was not part of a sovereign country before "occupation"—thus, in legal terms, there is no "reversioner" for the West Bank. This means that sovereignty of the West Bank is currently suspended,
4. What a disgraceful bunch
Alexander ,   NJ, USA   (11.06.10)
They are making other Israeli's suffer just so they can go back to the disillusion '67 boarder of "peace." There is a reason why the 67 boarder is no more because the Arabs waged WAR. They were not conquered or occupied, they were defeated. This letter is a self defeating cause it will not bring anyone any closer to peace. Creating an Arab state in Israel would be disastrous. Terrorist would operate freely from their and Israel will not have the ability to do anything about it without severe backlash from international circles because they will be a Sovereign. As a Sovereign they can tell Israel to F-off and then what? Either they will have to live forever with terrorism or they will have to make war on them. They are turning a blind eye to the worse case scenario and frankly it's not worth that kind of risk for Israel.
5. #2 - have you been to Ariel ?
michael redbourn ,   Arad - Israel   (11.06.10)
I worked with actors and actresses for over 30 years and they are nearly all insecure lost souls seeking an identity. Who else would want to pretend to be Napoleon one day or Jack the ripper the next? http://redbourn.notlong.com
6. enough already stop funding and attending.
ralph   (11.06.10)
7. Stop funding the illegal settlements
Avi ,   Israel   (11.07.10)
There we now we have this ridiculous issue in proportion. Well done to these artist at least someone has a concious !
8. How outrageeous to have another point of view
Haim ,   Tel aviv   (11.07.10)
Natuarly in true right wing mentality anyone who has a different point of view is branded a traitor. A pathetic attempt to cover up their crimes of justifying the occupation. Talking of laws maybe MK Yariv Levin (Likud) and his royal holliness MK Michael Ben Ari should check out international law they might discover that the settlements are illegal according to UN resolutions. Their hypocracy knows no limits.
9. Let the complaining "artists"
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.07.10)
10. Let the complaining "artists" work only in gaza and pay them
Bunnie Meyer   (11.07.10)
the prevailing wage there. They would soon love to perform in Ariel.
11. aren't those "lunatics artists" taxpayers as well?!
Steven ,   Sweden   (11.07.10)
MK Levin should be put to sleep.
12. Blind deaf and dumbsters
Ussishkin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (11.07.10)
Of course the Beer Sheva Theatre should boycott it! And we should stand with them andf all the othyer actors who will not be cowed by those who would call them traitors, and insist on cutting their budgets if the don't go to Ariel, and whokeep on denying the word occupation, as if by doing so it won't be, and we must blunt the raging fascism of the Im Tirzu mob and their red-neck supporters who are blackening our name, our values, and what is left of our integrity. It's time to take our nation back from those who would take it and all of us into the abyss and leave us there. HiTzilu Et Artzeinu! Save Our Land!
13. Stop funding lunatic artists - Here , here
DT ,   TA Israel   (11.07.10)
What good are people who can only create images and use a paint brush. Time they went out and got a real job
14. # 8
Linda ,   Poltava, Ukraine   (11.07.10)
Haim, you might be very surprised to learn that your beloved "palestinians" consider Tel-Aviv as an illegal settlement as well. Actually, you might want to travel to the "palestinian territories" and try to discuss that with them. But make sure your life insurance is up-to-date, because they may decide to treat your car in the same way as the ambulance vehicles, i.e. according to to rules of their national sports game called "stone-throwing".
15. to #7 those setelments also pay taxes
ghostq   (11.07.10)
oh and you will have to cut back in the militery funds, cause Israeli militery got music bands as well. mmm
16. The vast majority of these social chameleons
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (11.07.10)
are lack of any artistic talents. Their devotion to "piece" is a way to survive. The only exception is Chaim Topol - a Real Talent, who never belonged to the left mafia, yet earned International recongnition.
17. Citizens stop funding 'lunatic' MKs!
(11.07.10)
that should even things out don't ya think?
18. These "artists" are not very smart
Zev ,   Israel   (11.07.10)
I guess that is why they are artists. The future of the area is being negotiated but these artists are willing to give everything away before any agreement is signed.
19. #11. For your knowledge, the majority, if not all
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (11.07.10)
Israeli theatres are not profitable. They receive money from the Government, our money.
20. #10 I don't think so...
(11.07.10)
and the reason I don't think so is because we (the state of Israel and all of us left wing taxpayers) paid the Jewish settlers of Gaza to leave Gaza and they are (in some cases) still completely unwilling to go and live in Ariel! (What's that about? nevermind back to my point) My point is that using your logic the right wingers of Gaza should have had no problem moving to Ariel and so since they did how on earth do you expect the artists to want to go and perform there?!
21. A PERSPECTIVE FROM OUTSIDE ISRAEL
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (11.14.10)
WE IN CANADA LOOK AT THIS INTERNAL ARTIST SQUABLING AS A TEMPEST IN A TEA POT. THE ARAB, MOSLEM WORLD IS ALLIGNED AGAINST ISRAEL. THE E.U., U.N., OBAMA ARE AGAINST ISRAEL. FROM CANADA , WE SEE THAT THERE ARE ISRAELI " ARTISTS " AGAINST ISRAEL. THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS, AND THE ARTISTS AND BOYCOTTERS ARE DELUDING THEMSELVES TO THINK THAT THEIR CAUSE IS A LOFTY OR IMPORTANT CAUSE. LASTLY, IT IS NOT A "HEALTHY " CAUSE AS IT PROMOTES RESENTMENT, HOSTILITY AND HATRED TOWARDS THE " TERRIBLE ISRAEL " .............. AND THE ARTISTS HELP TO SUPPORT THIS VERY UNHEALTHY SITUATION.
22. ARTSIST - GIVE THEM UNIFORMS AND GUNS
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (11.14.10)
AND SEND THEM INTO THE ARMY TO DEFEND ISRAEL. WILL THEY BE OF ANY USE TO DEFEND ISRAEL ?
23. THEY DENY FREEDOMS TO ARIEL CITIZENS
ABRAHAM ben JACOB ,   CANADA   (11.29.10)
24. Boycott
Michael Pielet ,   boca Raton. usa   (05.10.11)
Dear actors I am calling on you to listen to your conscience and do not perform in the settlement, TEL AVIV. Remember that there are arabs living in close proximity to TEL AVIV, living in dire poverty. Furthermore according to the Geneva Convention and those of us who consider and honor arab rights TEL AVIV is an illegal settlement and you should not perform there. I am inviting you to come to Boca Raton, Florida. You will be welcomed and treated royally because here in Florida we are real zionists and we know what is ours and what belongs to our enemies.
