31. Does anyone remember Jabal Abu-Ghneim land grab?
Nour ,   One-State   (11.09.10)
Back then, the illegal settlement named "Har Homa" was a beautiful hill separating Beit Sahour from Jerusalem. Today, the lunatics on this talkback forum insist on calling it "a legitimate suburb". While I still hear the bulldozers clearing the trees in the late 90's to my dismay and horror, people on this forum insist that settlements should be built and expanded everywhere in the West Bank. Hey, the Hasbara campaign to legitimize one land grab after the other has been incredible indeed but it WILL backlash on the Zionism movement sooner than most think. In fact, Palestinians everywhere should insist on the Palestine solution now. One democratic country with an Arab majority. Settler-trash, good doing business with you.
32. It is also unhelpful that Obama: 1) Refuses, consistently,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.09.10)
to call for a "two-states for two-peoples" solution and instead only calls for a "two-state solution", implicitly not accepting the Jewish people's universally accepted RIGHT to exercise national self-determination and independence. 2) Keeps insulting, knowingly, the entire Jewish people by telling Jews, only because they are Jewish and against Israel's Supreme Court Decisions, to refrain from moving into and residing in certain neighborhoods, which is clearly a form of racism, anti-Jewish racism. Jews, it is time for a change...!!
33. No surprise
Rickey ,   NY, NY USA   (11.09.10)
You knew this was going to happen after mid-term elections. Obama would not have DARED opened his mouth last week before elections. It's only going to get worse!

39. Obama Joining the Attack on Israel
Robert Leckie ,   Fernandina Beach, US   (11.09.10)
President Barack Obama would do well to tend to the many troubled affairs he has brought about within the United States and butt out of matters involving Israel's sovereignty. For Obama and others to attempt to bargain away Israel's right to construct housing in Jerusalem, in the name of peace and/or under the guise of a "peace process," is absolutely and ridiculously wrong. Any thinking individual who does not see where this is heading is either blind to or ignorant of history. One of the surest ways for the U.S. to insure peace is to honor its treatys and stand by its allies when they are being attacked. It seems to me that Israel is being attacked from all sides and that Obama has joined that attack. Quite frankly, this American is not surprised. "Out dammed spot! Out I say!"
40. Earnest, sustained and counterproductive
ahad ha'amoratsim ,   Columbus USA   (11.09.10)
Let's see, Mr. President -- what help have your earnest and sustained efforts produced? After 10 months of a sustained freeze, were you able to get any of the Arab or Muslim states to recognize that Israel is and will continue to be a Jewish state, as contemplated by the League of Nations Mandate and the UN Partition Resolution? To recognize that Jewish presence in Israel dates back millennia and not just -- as you implied in your Cairo speech -- to the period after WWII? Were you able to get the PA to end its own anti-Jewish and anti-Israel incitement? To sit down at the same table with Israel and talk? To even get the PA to have "proximity" talks? Some help. Hilfen vi a toyten bankes would be an improvement; at least it doesn't do the patient any harm.
