1. East Jerusalem is occupied land and is illegal
Haim ,   Tel Aviv   (11.10.10)
East Jerusalem was captured by the Israelis in 1967 and under International law it is illegal for the ocuupiers to build there. Israel seems to think it can pick and choose which laws it wished to obide by and which not, the very same International law it quotes whenever it is seem to Israels advantage. East Jerusalem will be the capital of the new Palesinian state despite what the state of Israel thinks.
2. you mean the talks pali were forces to attand
ghostq   (11.10.10)
against their wishes, yeah some achieve that is they will do anything to stop it even fals pretence of setelments building, all the building is in not new setelments, but since the idiot say jerusalem will be devided, than this catastrophy will blow in his face.
3. It just shows how stupid Obama is
DT ,   TA Israel   (11.10.10)
If he has only just realised ME peace is problematic after two years in office he should be "serving the coffee" . He can blame his "advisers" as well as himself for having such dumb stupid and anti Israel ignoremuses
4. I've writen it many times Obama
Al   (11.10.10)
is no friend of the Jews. When he talks about 'just' he talks about cutting Israel down to nothing. The Jews of America are not that bright. They were lucky..but that luck is running out. Obama may be a lame duck for the next two years, but I venture to say he will be re-elected in 2012 thanks to the Jews of America. Israel..its time to seek a divorce from America. America under Obama will actively seek your destruction.
5. # Haim...not so fast, matey!
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (11.10.10)
Who owns Jerusalem? by Dr Jacques Gauthier. International lawyer, researched this issue for his doctorate over 25 years..He surely knows better than YOU! ...as do many others. http://ctstv.com/ontario/player.php?ctsvidID=17133&show=On
6. president Obama, Don't talk too much!
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.10.10)
move before it's too late. Jerusalem is not a settlement; it's our capital ......create a fait accompli in Jerusalem can't create legal/moral claims for "Israelis"... Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine; it is the symbol of the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people . Before the 1967 war, West Jerusalem covered 53 square kilometers and had 195,000 inhabitants. the maps of the city have been change and develop over the years. There are Palestinian villages and towns that don’t appear on the map. Following the 1967 war, the Arab municipality of East Jerusalem was dissolved by force and was annexed it to the "Israeli municipality" of West Jerusalem. Under international law or any international resolution no country can annex territory by force. The entire world has never recognized the unilateral annexation of East Jerusalem by "Israel".

10. PALESTINE WILL BE CREATED DURING OBAMA'S PRESIDENCY
SINGER ,   SINGAPORE   (11.10.10)
THE PALESTINIANS WILL GET JUSTICE.
11. What a screwed up Orwellian languge!
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim,   (11.10.10)
B"H There is no "Israeli-Palestinian dispute" that can be resolved. There is a massive block of Muslim rejection of anything non Muslim, called Jihad, and the Arab-Israeli conflict is just one aspect of it, specific in space and in time.
12. Obama is Talking about stolen or occupied land
Dani ,   Amsterdam NL   (11.10.10)
We did not steal anything from anyone, Israel is OUR land and Jerusalem is OUR capital. English, Americans, French, Spain, Holland etc.. where colonialist powers we are not, we went here because there is not other place for us and Jerusalem before 67 was a Jordan controlled area. No more bullshit on it.
13. #6 Salma, Palestine
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (11.10.10)
What do you want to say? That Germany will also get back the territories it lost after WW II? Come on. You started several wars against Israel and lost each of them. And as a consequence, you lost part of it. Get over it.
14. The biggest obstacle to peace is Israel
jason white ,   afula,israel   (11.10.10)
refusing to commit national suicide for a rabid jihadist sitting in the White House. This jihadist does not understand, this is our JEWISH holy land given to us by G-d. Let him return all the land that was stolen from the native Americans first.
15. @6 before 1967 jerusalem was Jordanian
(11.10.10)
16. Singer = very empty slogans.
(11.10.10)
17. #6 no country can annex territory by force
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.10.10)
You are right. All of Israel and what is now called Jordan were given to the Jews to reestablish the Jewish homeland. The British Empire was entrusted to help this dream come true. The British Empire encouraged unlimited immigration of foreign Arabs while using force to prevent Jewish immigration and allowing the Arab immigrants to use force to gain territory and ethnically cleanse areas from Jews (think Shiloach, Simon the Just). According to you, and I agree with you, the violent British/Arab theft of Jewish land is illegal. Peace and justice will only be achieved when the illegal Arab immigrants who moved in since 1920 go back to their homelands. Do you agree?
18. I see the phoney ''charm offensive'' is over.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (11.10.10)
That's it - the elections are over, nice words to calm the liberal Jews are now replaced by the same old BS. Obama is back to the same old, same old. Now that sane Americans have tied his hands on the domestic agenda, Obama will focus on his equally disasterous failed foreign policy. I just read a nice article about Indonesia & if you want to see just how much of a hypocrite Obama is, then click over to SULTAN KNISH blog & read about just how ''moderate'' Indonesia really is. Of course, Obama has no interest in the genocide in East Timor or the Indonesian occupation of Papua New Guinee. Does he care about atrocities committed by Muslims? No, of course not. Death & destruction, intolerence, persecution of minorities, genocide, just not important. No, the only important thing on his agenda are building homes for Jews in their own capital city.
19. Overblown?
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (11.10.10)
Why would Palestinians care that their people are having homes demolished and that their people are being inexorably cleansed from Jerusalem? Why would Palestinians care that their holy sites, Christian and Muslim, are being undermined and "modified" to fit Israeli Jewish desires and standards as tourist attractions, not places of worship? Why should Americans care that every effort of our President to bring Palestinians to make a deal are being deliberately destroyed by the Israeli government?
20. Palesstine
hebrew prophet ,   israel   (11.10.10)
During last night,s interview between Hala Gorani and Amre Moussa the Arab League mouthpiece said that he doesn,t want to hurt Obama by demanding that the international community recognise a Palestine state soon or the matter will go to the UN etc for a vote ,so what does the Arab League mouthpiece mean when he says he doesn,t want to hurt Obama anymore as the American electorate has already voted Obama out in 2012 and a Republican govt. due to take over in less than two years will not put up with Palestinian obfuscations and other nonsense ,we shall see ?
21. Haim No. 1
Madeleine ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
Jerusalem - east, west, north and south - is ONE CITY and that city is the capital of Eretz Yisrael. No occupied, not illegal but recognized as our capital in the 1922 San Remo Treaty. Go learn your history Haim or do you just spout left-wing propaganda? Lots of truth in the adage: with friends like you, we don't need enemies."
22. Nope, only 3-state solution is possible today
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (11.10.10)
Hamas is on the record - they will not agree to a peace treaty with Israel. Obama cannot change that reality with his words, nor via negotiations. Hamas is just not interested. The only possible solution is a 3-state solution: Israel, Palestine in the west bank, and Gazastan - either as an independent country or as a province of Iran.
23. #6 Salma
Madeleine ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
Stop rewriting history Salma. You don't have a capital, nor do you have a state. For over 3000 years Jerusalem has been the undivided capital of Israel. The only time it was divided was when the Jordanians captured it in 1948 and occupied it until we liberated it in 1967.During all this time there was always a Jewish presence, regardless of who conquered the city down the years. Of course, the Jordanians totally destroyed the Jewish Quarter of the Old city, leaving the Mosolem, christian and Armenian Quarters intact. I know, I was there in 1968, walking through the Jewish quarter. Except, Salma, it wasn't a question of walking through it, but over it, since it was totally reduced to rubble. I even have photos I tolok, to prove it, You will never, never have a foothold in Jerusalem, our holy city. It is meanlingless to you lot. Not even mentioned in the Koran.
24. Liberate Jerusalem from illegal occupation
Hunt S. Cross ,   England   (11.10.10)
in a defensive war. That's the sort of language that Netanyahu ought to be using. to state what Israel did in 1967 and the start of the status quo. He needs to go on the attack and point out, over and over again, the Palestinian violence, incitement, repeated flouting of agreements made and prevarication. Apologetic language, like attention being "overblown" is simply wrong. It actually legitimises the attention being given to municipal administrative decisions in Israel's capital. Categorising terms, e.g. "incitement" aren't enough, as they resonate at the intellectual level, not at an emotional one. Give examples, examples, examples. The Palestinian media and religious and political leadership aren't exactly ungenerous in that respect.
25. Learn this :-
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.10.10)
To us, Jerusalem is a home & an integral part of each of us, to you it is but another construction site, for he who loves a city would not destroy it as you are doing right now with Jerusalem... Palestinians stood in Jerusalem all the time unlike Jews.
26. If there is an obstacle to peace, it is BHO, that is...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.10.10)
...Barack (derived from the Arabic Barakah) Hussein (the Imam, grandson of Muhammad) Obama (an African-Muslim last name), and not because of his name. The reason, to date, the present US president refuses to even utter the concept of "two-states for two-people", a Palestinian nation-state and a Jewish nation-state. In refusing to accept Israel's right to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people, Mr. Obama sides with the Muslim-Arab world whose on-going struggle against Israel's existence has been based on the same concept that Obama now attempts to veil from public eyes. Thus, we must demand of Obama to accept Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the nation-state of the Jewish people.
27. #18 Terry
Reuven ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
Thanks for your suggestion to go into Sultan Knish blog. It's even worse than I thought. Obama's beaming smile in Indonesia really does give the game away. I thought how could only I see it? My cousin in NY voted for Obama because she is a bleeding heart. Now we are all bleeding.
28. Enormous obstacles to peace: 300 million Arabs
Frank ,   Canada   (11.10.10)
29. Jerusalem is the unified capital of Israel forever
robert renders ,   belgium   (11.10.10)
30. Salma
Z ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
Do you actually believe the nonsensical bull that appears on this website that you write? Jerusalem wasn't always occupied by Jews? Are you insane? Jerusalem was started by King David, a Jew, 3000 years ago. It didn't come into existence in 631 ce, better known to you as year 9. Israel is the heart and soul of the Jewish people, your claims of the reversal prove the unrationality of your people, and better yet, yourself; but we already knew that. You are part of the reason there is no Palestinian state. You refute all aspects of the Jewish history. A simple acknowledgment by the PLO and the Arab people of our history, our right to the land as it has always been occupied by Jews for the last 3300 years (there is archaeological proof of this), and the fact that Israel is immovable from the map will go a long way in peace. Peace is two sided, your rejection of it or at least your inability to come half way is evidence enough that peace is impossible.
