31. Who the hell needs Erdogen?
Spencer ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
What is Israel wasting time talking to this piece of trash Erdogen for? It's Turkey who needs Israel, not the other way around. Israel should immediately break off all diplomatic relations with this terrorist-supporting state and only when their government has been replaced and they come cap in hand asking to renew relations should we thimk about it. Whatever it has been costing us to keep our embassy going in Turkey can be better spent.
32. "First surrender your honor. Then we'll talk."
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.10.10)
Israel has repeatedly made clear that there will be no apology, and no compensation. This incident was staged with the support and cooperation of the Turkish government. And, as everyone knows, the Mavi Marmara was not an "aid" ship as there was no aid to speak of on that vessel - only a few hundred political activists. Yet Turkey - a country that refuses to acknowledge its own heinous acts and troublesome history - won't even discuss repairing future relations until Israel tosses honor aside and behaves like a proper dhimmi. Won't happen.
33. ER DOG EN
JUDAH THE LION   (11.10.10)
NO WAY ISRAEL TO APOLOGISE. THERE IS NOTHING YO APOLOGIOSE FOR? Turkey can go straight to HELL !!!!!!!!!!
34. :: So don’t apologize...
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (11.10.10)
If Israel doesn’t want to apologize and pay compensation for gunning down 9 unarmed Turkish civilians then that is fine after all Israel can afford to lose Turkey as an ally can’t it after all Israel has lots of allies like... like... ..?
35. Israel is not responsible for his state of mind.
Jonathan   (11.10.10)
36. This reminds me of :
Barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (11.10.10)
The kids that wanted attention - so they did something bad and got some attention. Guess Erdogan, et.al, want attention.
37. Turkey=Turkey- Leader is a moron !!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (11.10.10)
As always, muslims lie , lie and lie. Turkey started the problem and as always, the muslims got their asses whipped. Erdogan is pathetic !!!
38. Erdogan likes to remind the world how stupid he is.
leo ,   usa   (11.10.10)
39. No 13

After suicide bombing in restaurant or pizza bar,or bus, they celebrate and throwing candies.
40. Chek-met
salman   (11.10.10)
ERDOGAN HAS CHECK-MET ALL: THE ARMY , THE LEGISLATIF , THE JUSTICE, BUT HAS NO POWER TO INTIMIDATE ISRAEL BECAUSE THEY DONT GIVE A DAM, THAT MAKES HIM FURIOUS. .........BARKING, CARAVAN IS PASSING.
41. Apologies won't change the orietation of this regime
Joe ,   Canada   (11.10.10)
The ideological inclination of the political party in power in Turkey is definetely turned towards the worst elements in the Middle-East namely Iran & Syria & its sometime mentioned pretext, the economic factor, is just that , a pretext. An apology from Israel will not change such a major political decision to turn away from the West until the Turk voters empower a different government.
42. Reflection
Jordan ,   Chicago   (11.10.10)
Remember, Turkey sided with the Krauts..then lost Palestine to the Brits..which created Israel..which was denied by the Arabs, who now want to reverse history and 10 wars. I never knew much about this until that turkish bloke condemned israel for defending herself, I then heard about it through the net, its shocking and Turkey should acknowledge it and make ammends if it claims to be a fair and decent society.
43. Never Ever
Brazen   (11.10.10)
tayyip YOU can go pound sand.
44. #34
Ram ,   London   (11.10.10)
Ah Matty. I guess the 9 unarmed must have had make up bags and brushes that were mistaken for weapons. The IDF has to insure that future missions include only soldiers with certified 20/20 vision.
45. Israel is right and the entire world is wrong.......wow!
christianpalestinian ,   las vegas, nevada   (11.10.10)
The arrogance and ignorance of the israeli people is astounding. Israel cannot possible survive for the long term without making peace with the Palestinian people. Without a real peace arrangement, israel is doomed.
46. to #11 salma your prophets r jews.
ghostq   (11.10.10)
sound like you lil lost. now try to apologize infront of your phrophet mussa. he was more than jewish, he was from the levi tribe.
47. Blockade is legal & Israel had every right to sink or attack
Isaac   (11.10.10)
The blockade is perfectly legal and Israel had every right to attack and/or sink the ship. (P.S. Turkey needs to coordinate her double talk with the UNHRC a little better; otherwise, Israel can sit back and let the two shoot (figuretively) each other - which sound like a good idea.
48. Erdogan: Israel must apologize
(11.10.10)
You make me vomit, Mr. Erdogan!
49. Turdogan - Shut Up!
Menachem Ben Yakov ,   Yerushalayim, Israel   (11.10.10)
Every time you open your mouth you disgrace your country.
50. #11 Salma your always entertaining
Alexander ,   NJ USA/Israel   (11.10.10)
Salma we apologize when we are wrong, and in this case the Turkish government should not have allowed these ships to set sail for an internationally recognized military blockade of the hostile territory of Gaza. What kind of responsible government allows it's citizens to go against a military blockade? Turkey should never have allowed it's citizens to place themselves and others in harms way especially when there is no need for it. There is no crisis in Gaza and whatever aid is sent to there is allowed in after inspection for illegal weapons or lethal materials. Gaza is under a blockade because of the constant attacks from the terrorist group Hamas on innocent civilians in Israel. Where is the apology from Arabs for the rockets being fired on Israel? Where is the apology for the 4 Jews killed by terrorist in Judea and Samaria?
51. #34
Yaron ,   USA   (11.10.10)
Matty....you are a tool.
52. I wonder if
Paul ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.10.10)
this man really doesn't know that Turks during his lifetime committed genocide against the Kurdish people, that the Turks have continually denied independence. About 300X the amount of Arab deaths that occurred in all Israeli wars put together. I also wonder if he is aware of Cyrus being occupied by Turkish Imperialists, to this day. Some people are just not redeemable from their bull-sh-t.
53. #34 - like (Here are some examples)
Isaac   (11.10.10)
Russia whom Israel has just signed a military cooperation agreement, like China who is courting Israel for one, like almost all the Stans (Turkistan supplies Iran with most of its gasoline), Thailand, the US congress, Canada, Brazil, Poland, Hungary, Germany, France, Cuba whom Castro has just apologized for persecution of the Jewish people, Honduras, Haiti, the Neverlands, Denmark, Norway, etc... ARE THESE ENOUGH EXAMPLES?
54. :: Ram - #44
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (11.10.10)
Ram show me a credible report which states that the nine civilians who were killed by the IDF were armed and posed an imminent threat to the soldiers? You can’t can you? Do you know why you cannot cite a credible report - because there is no evidence to show that the nine civilians killed by the IDF were armed or posed an imminent threat to the IDF soldiers.
55. Criticise Erdogan HERE.......
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (11.10.10)
.....because you won't be able to do it in Turkish on-line newspapers. I've tried it but never once got published. That must say something about the present state of Turkey and its Erdogan government. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
56. #11 - hmm, still waiting for apology for 1920 massacres
William ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
and those in 1929, and those in 1936-7, and the genocidal war in 1948, and the cross border terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, specifically women and children between 1948-1967, and the calls for Israel's destruction when offered peace in 1967, and the attacks on civilians between 1968-1982, and for the PLO attacks from Lebanon (which I believe the Lebanese also deserve an apology from you), and the attacks on Israelis during the Yom Kippur fast in 1973 with the goal of annihilation, and the lie of Deir Yassin, and the historical revisionism attempts to cancel Jewish ties to the Temple Mount, Cave of Patriarchs, and now Rachel's Tomb, for the 1994 Oslo Accord which your side admitted to signing in order to destroy Israel, to starting Intifada in 2000 after being offered peace, to slaughtering Israeli civilians in buses, pizza shops, street corners, dinner gatherings, to snipering toddlers in the arms of their fathers, to shooting pregnant women at point blank range, etc. I haven't once heard an apology to any of those atrocities - ALL of them human rights crimes and war crimes. And that's just to Israel. You still have to apology to Jordan for trying to take over their country in 1970, to Lebanon for being a massive burden on them especially in 1982, to Kuwait for siding with Iraq, to the US for blowing up their diplomats who arrived to deliver Fulbright scholarships to your students, to the UN for hijacking their more important agendas for your cause, to the world for siphoning billions of dollars that could have fed many starving people in Africa and caused the entire world to fear flying. Let me know when you "normal people" are ready to make the announcement.
57. The problem with "needing" an Arab State
William ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
Once Arabs feel "needed", whether its for its oil or as a NATO partner, they will extort money, power, and concessions ad nauseum. A great article on Rachel's Tomb yesterday cited local Arabs extorting money from Jewish visitors to the site in the 19th century under threat of destroying it. The same site they claim they revere because of the false claim of it being a mosque. The US can easily solve this issue - end the need for Turkey as an ally (though it never really acted like one anyway) and end EU support for a bid to EU membership.
58. #54 - both IDF, activist videos prove it...
William ,   Israel   (11.10.10)
as well as the investigative story by Panorama. But since it doesn't meet your agenda - which I believe mimics UNHRC - then it can be ignored. "Credible" to you means "follows logic that Israel is always wrong".
59. #54
Ram ,   London   (11.10.10)
You'll be honoured to know this will be my last post at Ynet because of their humourless moronic censors! My reply to you is "read the testimony by the ship's captain". Best regards
60. Turky has never been good .
viva ataturck ,   occupied bulgari   (11.10.10)
Well said. Also the arabs of syria for occuping parts of northan syria and killing its people. Subsequently, at the beginning of July 1913, Ottoman armies crossed the Bulgarian border on the line Midiya-Enos, which was settled by the Treaty of London in May 1913. As most Bulgarian forces were deployed fighting against Serbia and Greece, the Ottomans faced little or no opposition as they advanced westward. At the end of the war, numerous accounts were given of atrocities and ethnic cleansing perpetrated by the Turkish regular army, Ottoman paramilitary forces and partly from local Greeks. About 200 000 Bulgarians were displaced, leaving their homes and properties, seeking salvation in territories controlled by the Bulgarian army.
