2. The F16 is an American piece of junk
Israel shuttered the Lavi project thanks to Rabin who undoubtedly was paid off by the Americans.
As a result Israel became dependent on American made junk.
The Americans cant sew a pair of pants, what makes you think they can build a plane.
Two young lives lost unnecessarily thanks to greed. So much for your St hero.
The families ought to sue...There are 50K lawyers in Israel..make them busy.

4. Probably someone taped an NIS in the turbin
When I worked in San Diego in the 1970's and early 1980's, many jets crashed at Miramar Naval Air Station (now called Marine Corps Air Station Miramar after Senator Diane Feinstein got offended at jokes by Navy pilots at a party there). There were a lot of widows and speculation was that a quarter was being taped inside the turbine, a fatal flaw in jets that can bring down even a big one. Mechanics get p.o.'d at pilots and kill them.

11. Sad and unavoidable when you are a superpower
For a country that is forced to train non stop... accidents unfortunately will occur, in the same way that the more you drive on the road the higher the risk for an accident.
I hope one day the Arabs choose peace over war, so that we don’t have to experience accidents like these anymore.

now, it's duty of rescue workers to catch the pilots alive. Rabbis say its the wrath on the soldiers for not observing Torah. Settlers say its G-d's punishment for Israel because of not supporting building in illegal settlements. Israel's military says it's the safety of F16I and responsibility of the US to provide field training and compensate for casualties.
Alarming rumors of heavy Israeli casualties were circulating in Israel, which the Israeli government did nothing to allay until the fourteenth of October, 1973. Then it issued its first casualty figure, admitting to 656 dead so far, which hardly stemmed the mounting anxiety within the country, especially as no figures of wounded were given. This figure obviously did not include the casualties of the battles of the fourteenth. Israel's Politicians underestimates casualties, but foremost they hide the actual cause; sabotage by enemy.

the F16 super hornet is the
most advanced air superiority
fighter in the world. all avionics
experts agree. tragic incidents
occur. Israel IDF agreed the
expense of a purely Israeli
fighter was prohibitive(the engines were to be US built!). Funds were
needed for other projects
and Israel given a good deal of
input to development and fitting
to our needs.
to say the US cannot sew pants
you fool examine our submarines,
aerospace, missiles, raytheon's
ballistic defense, et al,( a 'payoff!!!) you are
sadly biased and ignorant.
