1. My foot!
Cynic #2   (11.11.10)
seadog1946 ,   Shooters Island, NJ   (11.11.10)
Bibi was raised to believe in a greater Israel. Bibi was raised to understand that US politicians could be manipulated because the US electoral system is based on campaign contribution$. Politicians lie... all the time.
3. Nothing whatsoever "embarrassing" about building in capital
A Nice Fellow ,   Montreal   (11.11.10)
YNET has some strange notions.
4. "another embarrassment for Bibi" - nonsense ..
michael redbourn ,   Arad - Israel   (11.11.10)
The announcement was co-ordinated and the AP writer has next to no idea about what's going on. Bibi said quite clearly, "Jerusalem in not a settlement".
5. The Destroyer of Oslo Accords is "serious" about peace?
Nour ,   One-State   (11.11.10)
Nonsense. Just search "Netanyahu 2001" on youtube and see what this devil is all about!
6. A real leader would foster unlimited Jewish building.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.11.10)
It is pathetic that Bibi is "embarrassed" by Jewish building in our own Eternal Capital. This is yet another sign BIbi is unfit to lead Likud and Israel. A real leader would put no limits on Jewish building. A real leader would foster massive Jewish building througout our land.
7. i would love to stuff my foot in their arsses both
8. Nour
Jane   (11.11.10)
You are such a two-faced lying fool. You well know that you could have had a state since 1947. You well know that you've had several opportunities since. You well know that you never had a state before.
9. Islam's Frightening "Peace"
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (11.11.10)
In Islam, peace agreements are temporary cease fires. Islamic peace is where a hated non-Muslim nation's people are mass murdered and conquered by Islam. Jihad is an obligation in the Koran and calls for ALL nations and peoples to be conquered and subjugated under extremely cruel Islamic sharia law where defenseless non-Muslims have no human rights. Arab nations have repeatedly gone to war against hated infidel, Israel. Imam Rauf, leader of the 9/11 victory mosque at Ground Zero wants to implement sharia law in America-destroying our freedom-the U.S. sent him on an all expenses paid trip to Middle Eastern countries to represent America.
10. to chaim #6
fady egypt   (11.11.10)
it is the media opinion not bibi bibi said that there is nothing wrong with building in jerusalem as it is not settlement but israel united capital shalom and god bless israel and bibi
11. #5 Nour the 'One-State' Palestinian
Yehuda Cohen ,   Brooklyn, NY   (11.11.10)
I have a great suggestion for you Nour.In fact, it is being considered by members of the Kenesset right now. It concerns One State for you and your fellow Muslims. Except that state will never be Israel - but rather Jordan, which is where you all originated from, and which is 75% Palestinian and 95% Muslim. Why not go there and leave us alone???
12. Will Bibi Sell Out His Country......
Dan ,   USA   (11.12.10) a weakened U.S. administration that has no more than two years left ?
13. 5 hrs. with clinton, I bet Bibi's private parts are black
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.12.10)
and blue and really swollen.
14. Two States (Both already exist!!!)
JAN ,   houston, USA   (11.12.10)
Easy, simple solution...and when Bibi says two states, I hope he means what makes the most sense. Israel for the Jews, Jordan for the Muslims! Problem solved!
15. Bibi walking atop a fence
John DeLancy ,   Alaska, USA   (11.12.10)
Benyamin, how long will you halt between two opinions? Either the Torah is the Truth or it is not. The Torah says that G-D Almighty gave the entire Promised Land to the children of Israel. NOT to Arabs who didn't have a country there, ever. Either you believe it or you don't. if you don't, it's okay - we will find a righteous person to replace you. But if you do believe the Torah, please don't pretend otherwise to please the enemies of Israel. The Arab states that surround Israel will simply agree with the PA and the B. Hussein Obama Administration that Israel must cease to exist: there is NOTHING to talk with them about. If you want to talk, visit the Western Wall and talk to HaShem. He alone will give you an answer to this mess!
16. hiliary
kate ,   atlanta usa   (11.12.10)
hiliary is running for prez here in 2012 as a "moderate." hope Israel is not expecting much from her.
17. #2 Nobody believes Hillary
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL/USA   (11.12.10)
U.S. Jews comprise a mere 2% of the American population Non-Jews the other 98% You tell me who can contribute more, Jews or the or the vast majority ? It's simple math, take out your calculator if the answer is too difficult for you to figure out by yourself Unions are among the major contributors, they don't have much of a Jewish membership do they?
18. #5 Nour, YOURS is the nonsense
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL/SUA   (11.12.10)
Arafat promised, at Oslo, to remove the clause from the PLO Charter that called for the destruction of Israel I defy you to show a revised Charter that has deleted the clause Arafat didn't have a sincere bone in his carcass when he made that promise Seventeen years have elapsed since Oslo, so stop the BS that it's Bibi's fault
19. #5 Nour - A chance to prove your claims
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL/USA   (11.12.10)
Just answer the easy questions you've been ducking for so long When was the country of Palestine founded and by whom? Where did the Palestinian people originate from? What were Palestine's borders? Who were its neighbors? What language did the Palestinians speak? What writing did they use? What manuscripts or records did they leave whether written or engraved? What was their religion? Where are their temples? What monuments attest to their existence? What was the name of their capital? Name its other major cities. What was their currency called? Are there any coins that attest to their economy? What was Palestine's form of government? Name its kings or rulers. What are their achievements? With which other peoples did the Palestinians interact? Where can one find any records where in the name of the country of Palestine or its people are mentioned? Just answer a couple, that's all I ask
20. "PEACE deals???????????
tiki ,   belgium   (11.12.10)
As long as ISRAEL has to be 'weaponed to the teeth' for to make PEACE DEALS, that's exactly what it is...... a DEAL, not PEACE. It's about time to take some TIME OUT and rethink this 'forced marriage// PEACE FARCE, because this DEAL is a bad one and no good will come of it.
21. Every Other Country is Allowed to Build Where It Wishes
Mark ,   Toronto Canada   (11.12.10)
It's called exproporiation. It's done by all countries. Israel has the same right. Do not fall for Palestinian propoganda. They are the ones that came up with the name 'illegal settlements'. Stop copying them. Start calling it expropriation. Defend your act.
22. #21
Nour ,   One-State   (11.12.10)
"t's called exproporiation. It's done by all countries. Israel has the same right. Do not fall for Palestinian propoganda. They are the ones that came up with the name 'illegal settlements'. Stop copying them. Start calling it expropriation. Defend your act. Excuse me? We came up with this term? You're dead wrong. All nations are in agreement that the settlements are illegitimate, from a legal point of view. Even Sharon the cucumber saw them as such, otherwise why would he have evacuated Netzarim, Gush Katif, etc.? Your attempt to downplay the international dimension of your rebuttal is downright silly. There's no controversy around the issue of illegal settlements, they are ILLEGAL.
23. "The issue is not the settlements". Indeed!!!
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (11.12.10)
"Settlements" did not exist in 1920 when the Muslim-Arabs initiated their war-of-attrition-through-terror against the Jewish community of the country, one that is yet to cease, and that was 28 years before Israel even came into being, before the "occupation" as a result of the Six-Day War, 1967, before "Gaza", before the "peace process". "Settlements" were not the issue when five Muslim-Arab countries initiated the 1948 Middle East war aimed at the wiping of Israel off the face of earth, one day after Israel was proclaimed based on UN resolutions. "Settlements" were not the cause of the Six-Day War, 1967, initiated by three Muslim-Arab countries against Israel, aiming to achieve what they failed to do 19 years earlier, and in 1973 when two Muslim-Arab countries set out to achieve what they failed to do in 1948 and 1967. It is time intelligent people look at reality in the face and realize: The core issue of the Arab Israeli conflict, local and regional, is the categorical refusal by the Muslim-Arabs to accept Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the independent nation-state of a people, of the Jewish people on ANY parcel of land between the River and the Sea. And until the international community, US included, doesn't demand of the Muslim-Arabs to accept Israel's RIGHT little can be expected in terms of peace-making.
24. is the whitehouse a carnival or a joke...
ROBERT ,   FARMINGTON,USA   (11.12.10)
This is the biggest joke for a whitehouse we have ever had , and I pray that the nightmare we begone in 2012 , this whitehouse and leaders does not have israels best interest in mind at all , from the president all the way done the line is a freakin joke the world laughs at them no one takes them serious. what a would get more done with five year olds......
25. #22 Palestinian riason d'tere : occupation
26. The photo accompanying this article shows a "before" the
seadog1946 ,   Shooters Island, NJ   (11.12.10)
meeting photo-op. Haaretz has a more candid "after" the meeting photo... Bibi looks like he got a verbal spanking.
27. Wil they? Wont they? Will they? Wont they?
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (11.12.10)
Whilst Netanyahu and Abbas behave like two innocents on their first date - we all look on askance.. First Netanhayu seems to have an innate sense of being able to foot in it when it comes to Settlements - wants to show hes not being coerced I guess..but hardly diplomatic Then theres Abbas with the ability to masterfully paint the PA into a corner with all or nothing demands of Settlements The result? Stalemate But as the Talkbacks show - The result is they both are are seen as childish silly tiresome antics that dont serve either Palestinians or Israelis and indeed the Peace Process (remember?) well As far as Settlements though are concerned - Im fairly circumspect on the issue - because when all said and done - no matter how many houses Netanhayu wants to build - will not have an iota of bearing on the final status anyway....
28. 2 states
Emel ,   Stowe, USA   (11.12.10)
I agree that the 2 States should be Israel and Jordan. It's the perfect solution from a logical point of view. Once the idea is accepted, the boundry lines will be simple to draw.
29. To Nour#5
