A U.N. Resolution to create a new terrorist "Palestine" in the heart of Israel would be as meaningless as the hundreds of other U.N. Resolutions condemning Israel. Israel survives and thrives and the U.N. keeps passing hostile resolutions. Soon the Western World, which funds the U.N., will tire of misuing their money on it. The UNRWA is just too good at distributing birth control, and the PA is just too lousy at running an economy. There would probably be even less cooperation between the competing capital cities of Ramalla and Gaza City, with both Hamas and Fatah claiming to be the government. The Palestinians already had one civil war that Hamas won in Gaze. Do we (or they) need another?

The Palestinians will always try to look like they are in control or they will go to the UN. You noticed how they didn't use Jerusalem this time? This is after Natanyahu said that there may be a possibility to halt on construction in the West Bank only, should peace talks continue, not with Jerusalem though. This is to show their people (Pals) and their arab brothers that they are calling the shots. Funny how the Pals didn't use Jerusalem this time? The ability to enforce and defend one's borders is part and parcel of what makes a state "sovereign". Either Erekat forgets that or thinks his bluster will bend the world to his will. But the PA isn't capable of enforcing those borders. Heck, the PA can't venture into some neighborhoods of the West Bank, never mind Gaza. Does he think the UN "blue helmets" will swoop in to take over IDF positions? They won't get within 100 miles! Or perhaps he thinks NATO will do his bloody work. He can forget that.
