1. East Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine
Lynx ,   Palestine   (11.14.10)
So how is it possible or indeed logical to exclude EJ (Occupied Territories) from the so-called building freeze? Well, the US says settlements are illegal on one hand, and on the other falls short of totally rejecting new construction in EJ which is Palestine's capital. The US will eventually have to go along the universal consensus: EJ is Palestine.
2. pals are critical of everything
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.14.10)
they offer nothing constructive to any negotiations and don't accept anything that doesn't meet their absolutist demands. this is why conditions must be placed on any charity money the west gives them. if they refuse to be flexible on things involving other opinions, then they don't deserve the aid they receive. with them, it's all take and no give.
3. What about West Jerusalem Dr. Erekat ?!!!!!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.14.10)
Can you tell us , for what PLO gave up West Jerusalem ?! Faisal Al-Husseini made it clear when he said in an interview ...."We are not ready to give up [any] of our rights in West Jerusalem, let alone East Jerusalem. We have property there, as well as holy places and history,.our rights there [in West Jerusalem] are not to be compromised because we own 70 percent of West Jerusalem on both the popular and the institutional levels. Part of the remaining 30 percent is governmental land Israel inherited from the British mandate, which does not mean it has become part of their right, because West Jerusalem is not rightfully" Israel's"... how much do we today miss Faisal Husseini .
4.  Jerusalem east,west,north,south..
Anna M Sedda ,   italy-Rome   (11.14.10)
is Capital of Israel like Rome-New York-London east, west, north and south are Capitals of their relative Nations...
5. @1 Capital of would-be Palestine?
(11.14.10)
6. Salma, remember Jabal Abu Ghneim?
Nour ,   Palestine   (11.14.10)
Isn't amazing how so many Ynuts here go around babbling about "Israel's right" to expand Jerusalem suburbs". Remember Jabal Abu Ghneim and when that beautiful hills separating Beit Sahour from Al-Quds was grabbed despite private Palestinian ownership. The very same people who cheered for that land grab are citing "a natural right" to natural growth in that illegal "suburb". They think our memory span is 3-months! Funny is it not? You're spot on..But I might add that Palestinian rights go beyond West Jerusalem. They go to Yaffa, Lid, and Akka. Bir el-Sabi' and Safad. Deir El-Qassi and Umm-el-Fahm. Palestinian rights span the whole of Palestine from river to sea. We can only thank the idiotic settlers for giving us our homeland back!
7. Salma, don't waste your breath.
Avi ,   Israel   (11.14.10)
You'll never see any of it. You are allowed to have your dreams, but even they are illegitimate.
8. No such thing as "palestinians"
Jordan = Fakestan   (11.14.10)
on March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said: The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa, Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine, we will not wait even a minute to unite Palestine and Jordan.
9. ...negotiating with the Arab League
Warren ,   Israel   (11.14.10)
...makes it seem as though their is no such thing as palestinian leadership. They seem to just be the errand boys relaying messages between the east and west. How can the world blame "Big, Bad, Israel" for not giving the page boys land, when in reality it is more like Israel trying to negotiate a state from all the arab league. The idea of poor little palestinians seems false, when they are in fact just another part of a very large arab bloc.
10. #7
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.14.10)
All your letters are full of hatred against the Jews who refuse to accept your Leftists "peace plan". Yet when Salma tells you the truth, that the Leftist "peace plan" is acceptable only to the Israeli Left you condemn her? For telling the truth?
11. #8 You don't find that boring !!
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.14.10)
plz change the cassette, It's boring and repetitive .
12. Salma and Nour
Eyal ,   USA ISRAEL   (11.14.10)
Let's not for get Tel Aviv and Haifa, no? Funny girls. Too bad you aren't a stand up comedian, you would have made a lot of people laugh and made money at the same time.
13. Salma and Nour
Madeleine ,   Israel   (11.14.10)
Salma and Nour flatly refuse to acknowledge history, and like all their Pali friends, are intent on rewriting. The greater land of Israel, including much of what is today Jordan, was the Jewish homeland for several thousands of years. Then the British, along with the agreement of the then Arab leader, took all of Israel that was on the east bank of the Jordan (note, ladies, east, not west bank), together with parts of what is now Iraaq, Syria and Saudia and called it Trans Jordan (trans = Latin for "across"). that was to be a Jew-free country for the Arabs. You lot were referred to by the British as Arabs and the remaining Jewish population of Israel were referred to as |Palestinians. You didn't like that, so we then got the partition plan, carving up Jewish Israel into Pali regions and Jewish regions. You didn't like that, so you started a war, lost it and the rest you know. you've lost every war since then, get used to it. You have no rights whatsoever over sovereign Israel.
14. #13 We Lost the Battle but not the War.
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.14.10)
Madeleine , Our war with you not come to an end , get used to it, the war continues in different forms till we can restore our full rights.
15. #12 he he he !
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.14.10)
Eyal , who told you that we can forget Haifa or Tel Al Rabea ?!!
16. Salma no 14 & 15
TAHRIR QUDS ALYAHUDI   (11.14.10)
Salma admits they lost the battle.Salma get over it and relax.Your full right will be in Arabia. For sure, you can forget our HAIFA,TEL-AVIV,RAMAT GAN, PETAH TIKVA,and all the land of Israel. You will restore NOTHING,and NOTHING.
17. 14 - yeah, you're doing SO well and making GREAT progress
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.14.10)
just keep up the great work you palestinians are doing. heck, maybe another intifada would produce the same magic as the last one.
18. #14 Salma
Madeleine ,   Israel   (11.14.10)
Slama, your miserable leaders, along with the participation of the UN, have kept you lot in misery since 1948. Your leaders don't want it any other way because then you can hoowink the world into perceiving you as the underdog. You know full well, all you have to do is renoucnce terro, stop teaching your kids to kill and maim, stop teaching them to hate, stop glorifying jihad, and you could have peace tomorow. You can learn a lot from Israel in every field of life. What can you teach the world? Even the West is beginning to realise your sham history. Even now you say "our war with you will not come to an end". Well, if you are determined to fight eternal war, you will not receive anything. As for full rights, you have none: refugees don't enjoy refugee status for decasdes as you Palis have done. Less than three quarters of a million Arabs fled israel in 1948, most at the behest of their own leaders, who promised they would drive us into the sea and that they - the refugees - would return and take over all of Israel three days later. You know the rest. And as for your churlish, childish post in not 14, you have NOR RIGHTS, Get it. You have no rights to even one square inch of Eretz Yisrael. Oh, please tell me, where did you live in Israel? not your parents, you personally. Only those who fled could even begin to claim anything - not their children or grandchildren. What lies you are all fed
19. Salma @ 3
Moragh   (11.14.10)
if your faisal husseini is dead long may he be happy with his colleague satan.
20. Nour @ 6
Julie   (11.14.10)
Just one little suggestion... please Nour read a Bible, not your koran and if your geography is of any use to you and you are capable of understanding what you read (i.e. if you can read) then you will clearly learn the exact vast territory that REALLY belongs to the Jews. You have no idea and I can only assume that your schooling was NOT up to standard (at least).
21. 12
zionist forever   (11.14.10)
Salma your problem is your people keep rejecting offers and then crying and come back looking for a better offer. In 1917 the arabs rejected the Balfour Decleration which was calling for a binational state that would encompass all Israel within the green line, Judea & Samaria, parts of Lebanon & Syria and all of what became Jordan. The jews loved the idea of this binational state the arabs didn't and it never happened. In 1947 the UN offered partition an arab state would have 45% of mandate Palestine plus Jaffa as an autonomus arab zone. The jews got 55% of Palestine minus Jaffa and Jerusalem remained whole under international control. The arabs didn't like that idea so thy decided was time to drive the jews into the sea so they could take it all and so they started and lost the first of many wars. Result Israel was left with 78% of mandate Palestine, Jordan & Egypt got the remaining 22% between them, Jerusalem was divided for the first and last time in its history and about 600,000 arabs became refugees and neither they nor their decendents will ever be given any kind of right of return. In the 80s the US came up with a proposal for the creation of a palestinian state and it would have given the palestinian state more land than oslo offered. Arafat rejected it said it wasn't good enough. In the 90s he finally went along with oslo ( 22% of mandate Palestine at best ). In 2000 Arafat rejected Baraks off 97% of Judea & Samaria and Jerusalem Old City split 50-50. Each new proposal the palstinians are made they reject and then cry that its not fair and then the next proposal is even less than the previous one. The worst enemies of the palestinians is not Israel its the palestinians themselves who don't know when to stop saying no.
22. Salma + Nour .
Harvey ,   London   (11.14.10)
You have to be the worst card players in the history of betting . You remind me of the guy at the blackjack table [21] .Always chasing the deuce on 19 , drawing the 5 of clubs and then demanding his stake back from the house . In 48 you rejected the partition plan ,declared war and woke up to find you lost the hand and the land .Now you demand a return to the starting line like nothing has happened . Even worse you want the whole pot ,Tel Aviv ,Haifa, etc . Each and every one of us in life is responsible for the decisions and actions we take. You the Palestinians are no different .You made your call in 48 and again in 67 .Your call and no one elses and you struck out. Get over it and build a nation on what you have got just like everybody else. Get some self respect and build an economy instead of taking perpetual hand outs off the EU and rest of the world . You are the only people after 62 years who choose to play the martyr card . That is why you are in truth reviled by the other Arab states who use you as scapegoats in order to deflect attention away from their own despotic totalitarian regimes .
23. #6 - you lost the war YOU started.
William ,   Israel   (11.15.10)
and many afterwards, so go pound sand. There is no argument for "let's be fair" when you had no intention of letting Israel even exist, let alone allow Jews to live in peace in THEIR holy city. I refer you to the Land records of the Ottoman Empire which cite only 5% of the entire land mass was in private hands, the rest in State hands. And since the British didn't sell any land, you must have illegally squatted on it which makes you both a thief AND a liar. But you still believe in the narrative of "native Palestinians" and the PLO themselves debunked that myth.
24. #13- um, yeah, you did lose the war, many of them
William ,   Israel   (11.15.10)
you just don't know it yet because you're still stuck in the alternate reality bubble spoon fed on global welfare funds. Can you even brush your own teeth or is there a UN mission for that too?
25. #22 - we need to give thanks for Nour and Salma
William ,   Israel   (11.15.10)
Because seeing their hardened rants, based deeply in racism and historical revisionism, simply underscores Israel's stance and allows us to explain it very well to outsiders. "Palestinians" play the victim but often let their true intentions show, and it does get noticed. In the US, over 75% of the population support Israel and over 50% believe "Palestinians" want to destroy Israel. 37% believe they are all terrorists. Not surprising.
