Just like the Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel as the national homeland for the Jews, we refuse to recognize "Palestine" (a country that never existed) as the national homeland for the "Palestinians" (who as a people also never existed). we could have had peace in 2002 with the Arab/Saudi initiative but we ignore it. We are in no hurry to sign a peace agreement with anyone. things are going well, the economy is good, terror is down. The government is building around Jerusalem to ensure Jerusalem is mainly Jewish and not given to the Palestinians. The alternative is giving east Jerusalem in an agreement and losing security control of the WB. That is not in the interest of the government. So in the meantime, we play the US to get what we can. I don't agree with this government and want them to sign a fair agreement with the Palestinians so we can end this and move on.

Mr. Friedman is kinda correct. Bibi SHOULDN'T want peace; "This land is OUR land." It need not be given away to Arabs. They've already got their own lands - there is no pal people - no state is needed. Israel- stay the course! Give NOTHING away. He is a dedicated man and believes in peace. I will not fault him for that. I just think he has become an unwitting danger to Israel. I agree with what he has said, it might look to some people that Obama is bribing Israel to the peace table. But as stated in another post it ignores that facts. 1) Palestinians murdered 4 civilians during the recent talks (including a pregnant Mom of 6 children) 2) The Pals held a victory parade after the murders calling them "heroic acts of resistance" 3) Hamas stated they would not honor any agreements made by Fatah and Abbas. 4) Hamas stated the Palestinian people were NOT bound by any agreement made during these talks. 5) Hamas continues to fire rockets from Gaza at civilian targets. But it is Israel building house's in the settlements that is the problem. So it is an act that takes no human life (building house's) that is the obstacle to peace. Somehow I just can't buy that. Call me crazy. I think Murder and attempted murder to be more of a threat to peace than House building.

Actually the United States can't afford to lose it's only true ally in the Middle East. obama might grovel to his moslem pals who do nothing more than kick him in the teeth, but every other U.S. president has recognized the strategic importance of Israel. The monetary aid the U.S. gives Israel has to be spent on military purchases within the U.S. so that's hardly a liability. You people just love to hate Israel.
