So they are offering an alternative to the U.S. for weapons. The fact they are giving aid to Lebanon is interesting. Although don't expect anyone to whine about free aid from Russia. People only whine when the U.S. offers aid to Israel, when Arabs get free stuff it's OK. Strange isn't it?

The T72 is an old tank and these probably was an old surplus Russian army ones now retired and probably no match for the Kornet anti tank rickets that Hizbollah have. Helicopters are always a weak point because they fly low and slow so don't count on them not getting shot down. Anything not destroyed Hizbollah will take. If there is any good news to all of this TZ2s & MI31 helicopters unless as part of some pre emptive strike are no threat to Israel because the IDF can easily destroy those. The only thing we really have to worry about is the ammunition because the more ammo for their cannons they got the more shots they can fire at Israel.

Until Lebanon gets mobile radar systems that are hard to jam, like newer S-300, then there is limited danger to Israel air power. Even then the AGM-88 harm missiles will likely destroy their radar units unless they exercise tight emission control with multi antennas and dummy targets but it could cost Israel some air craft early on.
