1. Make it mandatory to receive the degree
William ,   Israel   (11.17.10)
Same as with artists, if academics want to choose where they can teach then they don't deserve the degree or the State support, pure and simple. Whether they like it or not, Ariel College is part of the Israel university system and as such is part of the training process. I know that if I objected to taking part in certain trainings during engineering school, I was failed and couldn't get my degree. Besides, if these students are so rabidly Leftist anyway, who would want them to be teachers in our school system anyway?
2. Give them an F for this project
Ron S ,   SF, USA   (11.17.10)
Give them an F for this project. Since they did not show up.
3. I Salute them
Steve ,   United States   (11.18.10)
I salute those courageous students , Ariel and all colonies in the occupied territories are illegal All settlements violate the International Law, Violate the Fourth Geneva Convention and constitute war crimes All settlements must be evacuated and Israel must end its illegal occupation
4. #1. To be in the right is OK?
Ariel ,   Tel Aviv   (11.18.10)
All around the world to be on the right, means fascism. Here in israel, doesn't? We should have better memory and act accordingly. Discrimination
5. Big deal - 2/3 Support The Project!
Pastor Leo ,   San Diego, USA   (11.18.10)
What's the big deal. Two -thirds of the students support Ariel! What's wrong with the editors of Ynetnews? Don't they know a majority when they see one? Only ten disapprove 20 are for it? I think someone is trying to sell newspapers. HA! Got-Ya!
6. Students misguided some notes to you
carlos ,   San Diego U.S.A.   (11.18.10)
YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DEFEND YOUR COUNTRY. READ ABOUT THE BATTLES IN GOLAN IN 1967. The effort, the cost in lives for your soldiers. POLITICAL CORRECTNESS WILL BE THE DEMISE OF ALL OF US. And I am being polite, you fools!
7. "educated" students or brainwashed students?...
Nick Sporek ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (11.18.10)
You'll NEVER see a Muslim boycotting other Muslims living, working or learning on our side of the green line. In fact they don't want you to have a side of the green line at all. Get it threw your thick "academic" heads. ***News Flash*** Jews aren't wanted anywhere, not even in Israel. Canada currently has a PM (Stephen Harper) more pro-Israel than most Jews/Israelis. But let me tell you something, Canada is FAR from being a country free of ignorant anti-semites. So if you want a place to call home, you better get some self respect and fast. Without Israel being the Jewish home base we're as good as dead. BTW, Tel-Aviv is also a "settlement" so boycott that place too if you dare. Hypocrites!!! :^P
8. One goes, so do the rest, just like sheep
Mark C   (11.18.10)
9. oh no! not the the educ. students! will anybody notice?
dante ,   uk   (11.18.10)
will anybody notice? of course, not. this is the most easily dispensible faculty. they are an impediment to education. their absence will be a gift.
10. This shows that the university education WORKS!
m   (11.18.10)
Indoctrination, just like the Soviet children who called their parents traitors for wanting to leave for Israel. Kol ha kavod!
11. who cares it was ten students?
pini ,   usrael   (11.18.10)
are israelis forgetting what israel was like in 2001?
12. They get an F in History and Geography
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (11.18.10)
The "Green Line" is not an international border, nor has the land beyond it ever been the sovereign territory of any entity named "Palestine."
13. Fail them....immediately
Julie ,   Israel   (11.18.10)
Next thing we know they will be teaching this anti-Israe,l anti-Jewish, leftist drivel to our students. The ISRAELI college, funded by the State of Israel sets the agenda and if they don't like it......tough. They can bloody well go to a school in Ramallah.
14. Traitors fighting for arabs
Arik ,   Guivat Yearim IL   (11.18.10)
They deserve to live in Gaza, their arab "brothers" will show them.
15. excellent
israeli ,   israel   (11.18.10)
offer them the alternative to participate in a similar project in Gaza.
16. "education student" as appose to dumb students?
(11.18.10)
17. Fools
El-Nakam ,   TA, Israel   (11.18.10)
"The students, who are completing their studies in the Informal Education track..." In other words, a bunch of vaguely "creative" losers with nothing substantial to offer society have made an inconsequential decision.
18. There is hope.
Matt ,   UK   (11.18.10)
Is Israel forming a conscience ? These student are a light onto Israel.
19. YES WE CAN !!!
Gregg ,   Haifa, IL   (11.18.10)
I totally support those students and future teachers :) They stand up for their belief of freedom and are against occupation !! A bit of normality in this country is not luxury
20. When they look for work we will remember
Ilan ,   Ariel   (11.18.10)
Someone should keep a record of this. If they can boycott for political reasons than employers can and should refrain from hiring them.
21. weird the Ariel residenses pay for these students paycheck
ghostq   (11.18.10)
sound like these students will join the unemploy line soon.
22. to #19 lol freedom, palis last problem is
ghostq   (11.18.10)
Israel, after corrupt system the only freedom they will ever have is under Israeli athorities, we all know election is just an act in the pali area, and they will use guns against each other for power. so you see you just buy what they say but it's not Israel they should be worry from.
23. Ariel
sharon ,   Israel   (11.18.10)
Good for them!!!
24. education students boycott Ariel University
Judith ,   rishon, Israel   (11.18.10)

Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.18.10)
26. beit berl
chaim ,   pt israel   (11.18.10)
let these 10 students try and find one arab leader who will go on record and declare that beit berl is not in occupied territory.
27. The Significance of Ariel Settlement to Palestine
Muayyad ,   Palestine   (11.18.10)
Ariel belonging to the new state of Palestine is critical to Palestine's contiguity and its tourism industry. Those who think that Ariel's strategic value to Palestine is limited to water and hilltop advantage are mistaken. The struggle is over the ancient ruins and old village of Sebastiya. The PA regards the array of civilizations ruins there a huge asset in terms of tourist potential. The ruins are not limited to Israelite and Roman legacies. That is a lie constansly fed tourists who arrive on Israeli buses (illegally anyway). The old city also includes Crusader, Byzantine, Ummayad, Ottoman fortifications and structures. The Israeli guides are constantly spreading a lie that history stopped with the advent of Christianity! The same guides also prevent tourists from accessing the old city, which has been rehabilitated by the PA with souvenir shops, art and crafts (including a mosaic school), and neat cafes. The new city of Ariel must come to terms with its presence deep in the heart of the Palestinian state. Its dwellers have a choice. Accept Palestinian sovereignty or be moved accross the green line. There's simply no other way.
28. #27 The green line is meaningless.
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (11.18.10)
All the green line signifies, is the former border with Jordan, and has absolutely nothing to do with today's Palstinian people. Since Jordan lost the West Bank in the war, these territories weren't theirs to give away to anyone. Many areas inside the green line (like Maale Adumim, Ariel, the Dead Sea, Har Adar, etc) have only Jewish population, and should therefore be annexed to Israel, while towns and villages outside the green line (like Tira, Um El Fahm) are Palestinian, and should be annexed to the future Palestinian state instead. This is the best division to ensure two demographically distinct states.
29. #3 #18 why the hypocrisy
(11.18.10)
Tel Aviv University is built on the ethnically cleansed ruins of an Arab village. Haifa University is a racist organization that refused Hanin Zouabi the right to speak only because she is an Arab. Be'er Sheba University is built on traditional Bedouin grazing lands. How can you salute these students?
30. Education
howiej ,   NJ/USA   (11.19.10)
As long as they are assigned to an area under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, they must be made to go where they are told or resign from their school. What if a group refused to work with Ethiopians, or Mizrachi, etc.? Those students who were willing to go to Ariel should refuse to be assigned elsewhere. Politics should not be a part of educational assignments.
