1. How did they photoshop this one?
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (11.18.10)
Seriously, how can they expect to be believed when they have been proven to fake results in the past? In this case they hit a target that they knew was coming with a system that they already had. So how is this news? Are we supposed to believe that in under a month they figured out how to build or upgrade to an advanced system like the S-300?
2. Round Two!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.18.10)
"We have developed the system by upgrading systems like S-200 and we have tested it successfully using all our potential and experience in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the Army and the Defense Ministry" What potential? What experience? Unless you count its genocide against the Kurds, the Ba'hai and the Zoroastrians (innocent civilians all), the only experience Iran's Revolutionary Guard can claim is its experience during the Iran-Iraq War, when it did not acquit itself terribly well and was withdrawn from active duty and relegated to guarding the ayatollahs and assorted mullahs. I'd say, therefore, that there isn't much potential either. The Revolutionary Guard is real good at shooting down demonstrators and mowing down innocent civilians, and not much else. And the Iranians wish us to believe that in the several months since Russia cancelled the sale, they have managed to achieve an upgrade that took four years to devise? Yeah, right. The fact is, what's in the Iranian arsenal isn't all that good. For that matter, what's in the Russian arsenal isn't all that good. (Witness the debacle in Chechnya.) The weapons stocks that Israel seized from Hizbollah and Hamas on the ground and those weapons seized aboard interdicted vessels are considered either museum-worthy or suitable for sale. They rate as antiques compared to what's in the Israeli arsenal. And yes, there are those that say that Russia illegally shipped an S-300 battery to Iran. Not possible. Satellites are trained on both Russia and Iran constantly (how else do you think Israel knew each time Iran attempted to ship arms to Hizbollah and Hamas?) Israel even knew about the one that was transhipped via land in Sudan -- remember what happened to that convoy?) No, this is more of the usual rhetoric out of Iran, very much along the lines of its previous "successful" missile tests and its "second generation and third generation centrifuges" that are superior to any centrifuges used in the West. Wonder when the photoshopped "evidence" will be published.
3. Another Succesful Test Fire.....
Warren ,   Israel   (11.18.10)
...it seems as tho they never do anything wrong. Everything is "Victory" this, "Successful" this, "Destroy" the enemy this. When in reality down here on earth. We all know that nothing is 100%
4. tested against the unidentified intruders.
rebecca ,   Modiin   (11.18.10)
Worked really well, didnt it.
5. Iranian expertise
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (11.18.10)
The brand new Iranian "Ambassador of Death" cruise missile looks like a refurbished German V1 from 1944. And they want to tell us that they are able to reverse engineer a Russian S-300? These guys are completely nuts.
6. the real question
tom ,   toronto, canada   (11.18.10)
the real question is why? why is iran telling these tall tales? on the one hand, it is possible that they are so paranoid about an imminent attack, that this is a pathetic attempt to scare off the israelis and the americans at their door. the other possibility is that all this is for domestic consumption. the vast majority of iranians have had enough of the mullahcracy, and this is just a tactic to bolster the regime. inventing external threats and imaginary weapons might just be signs of political desperation. but military bluster and sabre-rattling like this only make it more likely that someone will call their bluff. by puffing themselves up larger than life, they are in fact inviting an attack. perhaps by starting a war that they cannot win, they are trying to bring about mahdaviat, which would mean the destruction of all of iran. with crazies like this running the asylum, maybe it's time to join with the iranian opposition to overthrow the mullahs.
7. BIG DEAL, UNIMPRESSED
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (11.18.10)
The Brigadier General Mohammad Hassan was quoted: "using all our potential and experience in the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, the Army and the Defense Ministry," The same guys that fought Saddam to a stalemate after 8 years. Is that the experience you mean? The army that gave "keys to heaven to kids and used them as human mind sweepers, is that impressive experience you have? Save the bluster General you have a paper army. As noted by the U.S. military just recently Israel would defeat your army in 3 days. Much like the LAF in Lebanon. Why do you guys need to keep rattling your sword? What are you afraid of?

MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.18.10)
With your comprehensive talk-back which keeps you happy when you read it yourself.Iran is making steady progress in its missiles capability and don't tell me that your military analysts are all wrong. The very reason why your clowns are going in circle without making up their minds about how to deal with Iran clearly indicates the problem.Whilst you go on blowing trumpets about Iranians inability to do anything. It does not matter to us but you need to be told,no doubt. If the weapons in the hands of Hizbullah's are worthy of museum, why are your clowns expressing their continued worries?Or are they pretending to do so?Anyway, we shall still read the same comments from you..............................next summer?Ha! HA!
10. SO DID THE MISSILE HIT ANY MOVING TARGET???
stude ham   (11.18.10)
NO! OR ELSE THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN SHOWN PUBLICLY... LIKE THEIR EXECUTED PEOPLE.
11. TRUE,WHY ARE YOU AFRAID THEN?.....#7
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.18.10)
Of finishing off this deal by attacking the Nuclear sites?Sounds that you are sitting on the wrong side of the fence, aren't you? Your friends have been rehearsing for the last three years or so trying to find out the best way to deal with Iran. What is stopping them, for a change?
12. OF COURSE NOT................................#10
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (11.18.10)
Why should we know if it hit a moving target? You have enough of USA tax-payer paid weapons at your disposal. What are YOU waiting for, sir?

Ah, spoken like a true Iranian patriot from the safety and comfort of London. You do, of course, realize that it is impossible for ANYONE to take seriously boasts about having developed second generation and third generation centrifuges that is far superior to anything in the West. You do, of course, realize that it is impossible for ANYONE to take seriously boasts about having successfully test-fired an intercontinental ballistic missile when the sole proof of it are obviously photoshopped documentation. You do, of course, realize that it is impossible for ANYONE to take seriously boasts about having driven off imaginary intruders into Iranian airspace. You do, of course, realize that if Iran unleashes Hizbollah and Hamas upon Israel, there is no power on earth that can save the mullahs. I think you must realize it. Or you'd be living in beautiful, downtown Teheran, now, wouldn't you? Be a little realistic -- Iran cannot even refine its own oil, and we're supposed to see it as a serious military power? Come on. We've seen your military in action. A standing military six times the size of the Iraqi military and with ten times the firepower needed eight years to achieve a humiliating draw against Iraq. Lost nearly a million troops in the process (although the mullahs admit to only 500,000). But those mullahs are signing their death warrant. Israel takes existential threats very seriously -- although since Stuxnet, Iran has been very, very quiet with nary a single word about the "Zionist entity." I guess Iran's so-called "leadership" is very afraid of Israel -- and justifiably so. Heaven alone knows what the next shot in Israel's cyberwar against Iran will bring. I'm guessing the mullahs really don't want to find out. Israel brought Iran to its knees without firing a single cruise missile. Hey -- I note for the record that as of today, Bushehr, Natanz, Qum and Isrfahan still haven't come on line. The rhetoric has largely disappeared, too. Gee, what could have happened?

"the other possibility is that all this is for domestic consumption. the vast majority of iranians have had enough of the mullahcracy, and this is just a tactic to bolster the regime. inventing external threats and imaginary weapons might just be signs of political desperation" Exactly. "but military bluster and sabre-rattling like this only make it more likely that someone will call their bluff. by puffing themselves up larger than life, they are in fact inviting an attack" Exactly. But they are making the same mistake that the Arab states did in 1967 -- they fail to take into account the fact that Israel takes existential threats very seriously. They would like nothing better than to provoke Israel -- their internal fragmentation and widespread displeasure with the Islamofascist regime is quite serious; the sanctions against Iran have hurt -- they think that goading Israel into an attack will unify the people of Iran behind strong support of their government. It won't. But Israel has proven itself capable of taking down Iran's command and control systems and all four of its nuclear installations using an elegant and sophisticated computer worm. You can bank on the fact that Stuxnet is not the only cyberweapon in the Israeli arsenal and, if push comes to shove, there is no shortage of more lethal weapons at Israel's disposal. The mullahs are playing a VERY dangerous game; one that they are not terribly good out. They are simply too stupid to recognize how devastating the consequences will be for Iran.
15. i have also test fired one today
Iranian Jew ,   LA   (11.19.10)
Mahmood! I successfully test fired one of my very S-300's. The whole neighborhood is up in flames. You should concentrate on keep the hijab on the Persian Cat than test firing BS.
16. #11; MAHMOOD, NOTHING
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (11.20.10)
Israel will pick the time and place if it is necessary. Don't misinterpret the fact that the world is trying various non-violent ways to achieve their goal. The fact that Iran is to stupid to understand that isn't anybodies fault but the leaders of Iran. Saddam thought the same way, yet they pulled him out of a rat-hole, hiding like the coward he was. General Noriega of Panama felt he was untouchable, yet he sits in a Federal penitentiary in Miami Florida. It just seems Iranian leaders need the bluster to build their ego. Do you really think Iran can stand up to a serious war from the U.S. and a international coalition? Or even an Israeli attack? BTW do the people of Iran really want their leaders dragging Iran into a war that in any event would leave their country in ruins? If so, why does Iran put down protests by their people in such a brutal fashion? Would those Iranians help and assist a coalition force to remove the crazy leaders they now have who only want a war? Your the expert Mahmood, is that what the average guy on the street wants for Iran?
