31. The traitor shall die in jail
IRAN#1   (11.20.10)
Americans don't like traitors. Rosenbergs were a warning to all jews in the USA that they can't be traitors and expect clemency.
32. let him rot
marko ,   tel aviv   (11.20.10)
let him rot for the rest of his days in jail,he is a traitor
33. Same rule applies to Muslims as well, #31
Cameron ,   USA   (11.20.10)
Whether you roll into a synagogue or mosque, keep your nose clean.
34. what is us tryng to hide?
bernard ross ,   st anns bay jamaica   (11.20.10)
as with Noriega, the us is trying to prevent the release to hide something.
35. to seadog@#2;
Jennie ,   Us/ISrael   (11.21.10)
You writing is disgusting and disshonest...You know nothing about this case, but you just love to hate Polllard. Do youv have proof, that he got money for his informatin ? If not, this makes you the creep... Be careful,a wishful thinking may end up haunting you..
36. American CRUELTY Shocked even the Europeans
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (11.21.10)
The European Parliament Resolution on Jonathan Pollard September 16, 1993 The European Parliament, 1. noting that Jonathan Pollard, then of the US Navy, was convicted in 1985 of passing classified information to Israel concerning the military activities of Iraq, Syria and other Middle Eastern nations, 2. noting also that the information dealt with the chemical, biological and nuclear arms build- up in these countries and that Pollard considered he had a moral duty to warn Israel of the developing massive threat to its security and to the lives of its people, 3. whereas Pollard has expressed remorse for his action, 4. whereas Pollard, who was not accused of treason, or of intending to harm the US, pleaded guilty under a plea bargain, and was thus convicted and sentenced, without a full trial, to life imprisonment, despite the Government's promise not to seek such a penalty, 5. noting that the sentence imposed on Pollard was grossly disproportionate to those imposed on others by US courts for supplying information to a friendly power (normally from two to four years), 6. shocked that most of Pollard's eight years in prison should have been spent in solitary confinement and underground, 7. astonished that Defense Secretary Caspar Weinberger, described by one of his Under-Secretaries for Defense as having had 'an almost visceral dislike of Israel', should have sent a message to the trial judge, one hour before the sentencing hearing, asking for the stiffest possible sentence commensurate with Pollard's 'treasonous' (sic) behavior, 8. noting however that Mr. Weinberger stated recently that he thought it was time that Mr. Pollard should be released; aware that Christian and Jewish organizations throughout the world have pleaded for the harsh sentence of life imprisonment to be commuted and that Judge Steve Williams wrote, in a dissenting opinion to an appellate court finding, that 'the government's conduct in this case resulted in a 'complete miscarriage of justice', 1. Urges the US Administration to commute Pollard's sentence to one of time served and to release him immediately; 2. Calls on EPC to intercede with the US government with this end in view; 3. Instructs its President to forward this resolution to the Council, the Commission, EPC and the Government of the United States. Voted almost unanimously on 16th September 1993. 37. Pollard's "SIN": He Permitted Israel to Act in its Defense
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (11.21.10)
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=24659 September 26, 2001 Terror in the U.S. and the Jonathan Pollard case By Larry Dub © 2001 WorldNetDaily.com "... thanks to Jonathan Pollard, Israel was ready with gas masks and sealed rooms when Iraq attacked her during the Gulf War... The usual sentence for spying for an ally is 2-4 years... Indeed, the Government's own Victim Impact Statement (VIS), which was submitted to the court prior to sentencing indicated that Pollard's greatest "sin" was that by giving Israel vital security information which permitted the Jewish state to act in its own defense, he had made Israel "too strong" and thus angered America's "moderate" Arab allies..."
38. IF Morris Pollard Wants His Son Released
Chanawashdc ,   Washington DC   (11.21.10)
he should tell him to apply for parole. Pollard has been eligible for parole since 1992, but has never applied. That he is still in prison is his own choice.
39. Confession & Contrition
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (11.21.10)
Not only has Pollard failed to express contrition about the damage done by his actions, neither has Israel. Israel and Pollard should fully fess up to what they did to damage the US and agents of the US throughout the world and in the Soviet block in particular. There also should be a public expression of contrition. Then, make the US an offer for Pollard, just like the Russians have done for their spies captured by the US. The US is offering $3 billion for a 90 slowdown in construction. Offer the US something proportional for your spy.
40. 37 Lock him up and throw away the Key
lydia ,   Brisbane   (11.21.10)
Israel has repeatedly spied on the US and transferred US tech to America' s enemies, thus causing untold deaths and minimizing whatever advantage could have been gained. Let Pollard stand as a stark reminder to those who would spy on the US and betray America's secrets etc. will pay a heavy price.
41. Pollard absolutely have to remain in jail...
Dan the Jafa ,   Auckland,Aotearoa   (11.21.10)
... for the same reason why the deer stalker who killed a girl in the dark mistaking her headlamp for a reflection of a searchlight in deer's eye must go to jail - to be made an example of. Deer stalkers in New Zealand now know that to avoid a prison sentence they can only shoot a deer after they asked the deer if he is indeed a deer and the deer answers affirmatively. Similarly, Pollard has to remain in jail to remind american jews what will become of them if they do not toe the line. Indeed Mr Pollard must be grateful that his punishment was limited to him alone and didn't target the entire jewish community. Well I guess we live in progressive times and justice for jews is these days somewhat more humane than in the days of Mendehl Beylis and Dreyfus.
42. #17
Jennie ,   Us/Israel   (11.21.10)
Thanx for pasting the ny times magazine article here, sammy, the most leftist, fraudulent and anti Israel, terror justifier publication on the western hemisphere as of late...Just check their recent article named "Why Israel doesn't want Peace"... Great job , sammy....Can you prove whose US agents death, did polard cause & when ? Can you list some circumstneces ? Where was it published? Wonder about your criticism or opinion of scours of islamic terrorists, who penatrated USA, causing US big time harm and terror and to whom we need to thank for our inhenced airport patting down, every time a US citizen, be it a child, an old women or man is taking a flight...All this is compliment of tthe islamic terrorists, but we are afraid to tell it as is or do the profiling of them..But eventually we'll have to !Should I continue, sammy ? Hope you get my point. We know exactly who should rot and where....
43. Free Jonathan Polard !
Jennie ,   Us/Israel   (11.21.10)
Shame on the Israeli government, that in all the 25 years, they didn't take the chance to pursue the release of J.Pollard and request a legitimate clemency for his release to Israel. It would have been possible every 4 years, when the newly elect US President is alloud to pardon a political prisoner by request of a statesman...Non of previous PM's of Israel requested it, to my best knowledge...Why ? Do it , BIBI !!
44. Agree, time to let him go..
David ,   sf-usa   (11.21.10)
He's served enough time and is no threat to anyone. I can think of 50 spies captured since him who were held, then diplomatically released-most of them from China. Even murderers are routinely released after much shorter sentences. I'm not jewish nor Israeli, but this does look like discrimination to me. He's been punished enough.
45. release Pollard
Quecomm ,   United States   (11.21.10)
Those of you who believe he did this for money should recheck your facts. He did not spy for money but rather on the principle that the United States owed this information to Israel. He should have been released many years ago and allowed to move to Israel where he has an open invitation. Such a disgrace this has become when so many others are patted on the head and sent on their way after spying for U.S. enemies when they should be the ones given life sentences.
46. If Israeli PMs hadn't wanted him in jail, he would be home.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Los Angeles, CA USA   (11.21.10)
You can't tell me there was nothing Israel could do to bring him home in 25 years. There is some reason all Israeli PM's, including Bibi, want him to die in an American jail. He has been abandoned by EVERY PM the Jews elected, but WHY?
47. #27 what a joke, Sammy.
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (11.21.10)
Is THIS the best you can find as "proof"? An anonymous 13-line opinion from 1993, based on nothing other than wild speculations and innuendos? Notice the iffy words used there: "officials assume", "officials fear", "may have cost". Where are the sources? Where is the reference to the incriminating evidence? Where is the author's name? Looks like you are really scratching the bottom of the barrel.
48. #16 And you, who pays for you Arik ?!
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.21.10)
any way, Are you kidding?! I wish that the PLO do as "Israel's" foreign ministry did, but unfortunately they don't pay anything :( cuz they don't give great importance to the so-called "Israeli" public opinion, and because it is a bit corrupt, isn't it ironic..don't you think ?! How can a corrupt to think or do somthing with no charge ?!! good morning Ynet : )
49. Pollard
S. Baxxerzy ,   USA   (11.21.10)
1. Israel is not the US's closest ally. Not even close. 2. Get the key to traitor Pollard's cell and throw into into the deepest ocean trench.
50. to salma,# 48
Jennie ,   US/Israel   (11.21.10)
A little bit corrupt ,huh? I love your self critisism, salma....So what does your pali govrnmnts can show for many decades of heavy fundings & contributions by the worlds countries, designated for your authority to build your infrastructures & peaceful trades ? Could you list any of that, achieved with the foreign contirbutions? Please exclude the help from Israel...
51. #40 Lydia's Dirty LIES & Blood Libels
Linda Rivera ,   New York, USA   (11.21.10)
Pollard NEVER gave a single secret to U.S. enemies. He caused the deaths of no one. He did not commit treason. He was not charged, or found guilty of any of these horrible crimes. What did he do? Pollard PROTECTED Israel. POLLARD SAVED LIVES. He gave information to Israel that America had promised in agreement to give, but broke their promise greatly endangering Israel. It is NOT Jews who daily, hourly seek America's destruction. It is Islamo Fascists.
52. It's 25 years...
rachel kapen ,   west bloomfield, MI   (11.22.10)
It's 25 years, and in prison is he and the end of his struggle is nowhere to see. And it's day after day he continues to pay. He pays with his freedon so we can be free.
53. Enough is Enough!
D.Torres ,   NYC USA   (12.06.10)
Jonathan Pollard has been in prison for a quarter of century, that is more than enough, he should be freed. Jonathan Pollard should be freed to live the rest of his life with his family. Enough is enough. Those secrets are no longer even relevant. It is cruel and inhumane to continue to jail this man. Let him go home.
54. he should be release
kozuki ,   london uk   (12.06.10)
its time for the us government relase mr pollard, probably if they do,then the us economy will come out of its slump. remember that GOD still look after Israel and the jewish people.
55. comparison
kozuki ,   london uk   (12.06.10)
The men who have commited murderous crimes in Grenada by brutally killing Maurice Bishop and 7 other members of the Government and during the trial have disturbed the court during procedings, they were all sentence to life in prisonment, but how many years did they served in prison only 20 and they are all out now working for large salaries and getting their pocket fat.So what real damage did Mr Pollard did to the usa,its time to free the man.injustice never done.
