We have read the transcripts and heard the speeches, not only from Arafat but from other Arab leaders in Israel as well. We always talked about the children, and how they were educated. That NO schoolbooks among the Arabs in the disputed territories or really in any Arab country have Israel on the maps. So what does that tell you They don't except Israel's right to exist. So this poll should come as no big surprise regarding much of the information about how they feel. Although there is some positive points. That Abbas and Fayyad are much more popular than Hamas and their leadership. That the Pals reject Iranian intervention in their political affairs. But still, only 50% would favor accepting Israel as a Jewish state with close to 67 borders. Still only 51% in the WB, and only 12% in Gaza even favor putting Israel on the map. There is a long way to go, Arafat and his people did a great job at brainwashing their population for last 60 years. This should be a wake up call to the liberals of the world.

First, it really doesn't matter what happened in history because Israel is a sovereign State and can do as it pleases without your permission on internal matters. And yes, we are a Jewish State, it's be reaffirmed in the halls of the UN and among media and Intl govt outlets when the constant refer to Israel as "the Jewish State". Second, Lebanon was set up as a Christian State, as Israel was a Jewish one, and several other States were Arab Muslim but specific to certain tribes. While TIP initiated the poll, it was performed by a "Palestinian" polling company (which also works with many other media and govt groups across political lines) and performed face-to-face in both Gaza and West Bank.
