1. Labor and Kadima = Retreat/Surrender/Destruction of Israel!
David   (11.22.10)
2. Oy Vey, what a bad idea.
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (11.22.10)
This is wrong on so many levels I can't begin to explain in a talkback. We need to change our entire political system, get rid of the party list system & make MK's accountable to a constituancy, have a winner takes all system like in America. We need to shrink government, get rid of bureaucrats. Ban public sector unions including the teachers union. Encourage private schools paid for with education vouchers to create competition & give parents the choice of where they send their children. That's just for starters.
3. In the end,
John Prohett   (11.22.10)
Israel will be alone. It is written!
4. Campus anti-Israel is LEFTIST
RayS ,   USA   (11.22.10)
Tehe campuses that have serious anti-Israel activities are COSTAL leftist ,elitist types. THe bulk of USA campus students (central and south east & southwest are like the bulk of US citizen strongly pro-Israel. Even on Eastern US campuses conservatives are growing in strength and they are very rpro Israel. The World anti Israel agitation is OBAMA led and the American people are fed up with him. Even moderate left individuals are seeing thru his veneer. This man is an enemy of Israel and of the United States. America has realized this . It is time Israel does also.
5. Absolutely not!!!!!
Brian ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.22.10)
Adding Kadima will solve nothing and only make matters far worse, including Labor and retaining Barak as DM has been an outright disaster. We need to change the whole electorial process in this nation and quick, it's my greatest hope that this government dissolves and we go to elections quick, this government in no way represents what the people voted for, and what BiBi did in the primaries was disgusting. We don't need Kadima or Labor, Likud needs new leadership, And why the he'll are we still going along with this sham of a peace process, we need to ignore Obama like everyone else, this nation needs the kind of leadership that will make it independent for the first time ever, time to stand the he'll up against it all.
6. Absolutely Yes
Ron ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.22.10)
7. Israel's govmnt. not weak enough for Ben-David
Steve Klein   (11.22.10)
Dan Ben-David wants to see an even weaker government in Israel.
8. Israel must get the patriotic right wing govt. we voted for.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.22.10)
The last thing Israel needs is Kadima in the government. Kadima is already well past it's prime and as shrinking before our eyes. Recent polls show Labor would be lucky to win 7 seats in an election today. The overwhelming majority of Israelis voted for a patriotic right wing government. That is what Israel must get. No more racist anti-Jewish building freezes. No more Two State Final Solution. No moer sick leftist policies. Current polls show the patriotic right would emerge even stronger in an election today.
9. The unemployment and poor educational level
Danny   (11.22.10)
of Haredi is cultural.
10. YES -kadima In-make Obama Happy
Ron ,   USA   (11.22.10)
entangle Bibi, and wreck the present government. This will make Obama one happy fellow. No to Livni !!!! First let us see how well Pres Obma does with his new Congress next year. The US voters weeks ago overwhelmingly rejected Obama. This settlement freeze mess is his creation.
11. #2 Terry. Read David Passig.
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (11.22.10)

12. This is a rather disjointed article. I choose
Robert Haymond ,   Israel/Canada   (11.22.10)
to concentrate on the first part, the attermpted delegitimiztion of the state of Israel on the part of Muslim propagandists and their (faux) liberal counterparts. While we all know how true and powerful this radical view of Israel has become, what the professor fails to see is the evident counterinsurgency in western nations due to economic turmoil and Muslim terror and recalcitrance. The USA has already tipped strongly to the right in opposition to Obama and his policies. In Europe, Geert Wilders' political party has surged in popularity and is now a significant factor in Dutch politics. In Sweden, a country in which one of its major cities, Malmo, has been taken over by Muslim immigrants, a strong rightwing party has arisen and is making an effect in Swedish governmental affairs. Democratic Norway is now on the way towards the very same phenomenon. Minarets are now banned in Switzerland. Burkas in public places are now on the verge of being banned in France and Belgium and in some Spanish cities as well. The German PM has issued a statement regarding the dangers of unlimited multiculturalism. Only the UK, pretty much defeated by the Muslim threat and its own love of political correctness and a forceful misunderstanding of liberalism, is there no significant upheaval against Muslim domination (see Melanie Phillips "Londonstan"). So given the aforegoing scenarios, I think the attempted delegitizimation of the state of Israel is now losing its effectiveness and, in the next few years, as the public in western democracies continues to become aware of the true threats against their respective cultures, Israel will once again be seen as a shining light in a sea of mideastern misanthropy. This passage in no way makes light of attempts at delegitizimation, however. As Jews and as friends of Jews, we must realize that antisemitism, now in the form of demonization of the Jewish state, is always a factor and must continue to be combatted.
13. Logic?
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (11.22.10)
Ben David says that terrorists are just beyond Israel's Northern and Southern borders. His solution? Bring Kadima and Labor into government. The terrorists are at Israel's northern border thanks to the Labor party that betrayed the SLA, and thanks to the Labor and Kadima party that lost the Lebanon II war and signed the surrender agreement that allowed Hezbolla to rearm. The terrorists are at Israel's southern border thanks to the Labor and Kadima party that ethnically cleansed Gush Katif, allowing Hamas to take over and losing the Cast Lead operation. Currently, Labor and Kadima support bringing in a new powerful terrorist army to Israel's East. What is the logic to give power back to the idiots who brought the current state, and whose only solution is to make it worse?
14. another academic
mohson   (11.22.10)
After kurtzer, dennis ross, aaron miller, beilin and ben ami, what israel really needs is another ph.d. bleeding nakba to ingratiate israel with the world and UN and to kiss arab rear end as dzimmis. This is what tzipi livni advocates. And she really understands things, doesn't she??!! She says arabs would cut a deal with her cause they trust her and they would recognize Israel. As if to pay her back, Abbas regime comes out with a study that says the western wall is moslem and was never jewish. Okay end of story. Arabs lie their teeth off and believe their lies. I would rather be surrounded by a moslem majority with me holding the guns than to be a disarmed minority surrounded by arab majority. How does israel produce such dumb foolish and cowardly politicians??!!
15. how will kadima in the coalition solve all the problems?
zionist forever   (11.22.10)
Yes there are security problems Yes there is iniquality Yes the education system needs to improve Is How exactly is inviting Livni into the coalition going to change all this? Does a government that includes Kadima going to have all the answers and all the capabilities to solve all these problems? A national unity government of the current coalition members & Kadima would lead to so much squabbling and infighting that nothing would ever get done. Israel has had national unity government in the past and it didn't solve all the countries problems then so there is no need to think it will now. This article is totally flawed in its arguments.
16. To David: Israel Voted Right
Dav Lev ,   Burbank. CAUSA   (11.23.10)
To David: the problem of course is the entire structure of Israeli govt 60 parties for 7m people? How aweful. 12 major parties, going in different directions..most wantiing funding for their pet causes. We call that perks here, and more specivially special interests (unions vs corporations, etc, etc.. Israel also has a major flaw...its knesset members are not voted by the people, called direct elections here. You need districts, 15 to 20, from Haifa in the north, to Tel Aviv, to Jerusalem, to the southern coastal cities, to the Negev, and south to Eilat. Each district so many electors. One legislative body..you need two, an upper and lower. And you need a constitution to define just exactly what Israel is: state of the Jews, a Jewish state, a state for all its people, what? The freeze controversy is but one example of outrageous govt. Bibi goes to this committee and that committee and then to anothe rcommitee. Why? He is the PM. He makes a decision, then goes to the parliament for approval. Thats how you do it. No wonder the world is confused. But for the moment....Israel voted right. Its policies must be right.
17. What a bad idea
SGM ,   Houston, US   (11.23.10)
Yes. But in order to all of those things (which I agree are necessary) first you need the unity government. That will enable legislation that shuts out smaller minority parties from future elections.
18. To Ynet, "Kadima to oppose Referendum Law"
tanya ,   tel aviv israel   (11.23.10)
with LIvni"s picture fits much better here. Don"t you think so.
19. Not what we need
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.23.10)
Kadima is a party made up of the most corrupt ex-Likud members. They belong behind bars, not in the government. What we really need is a government that we voted for, not another bunch of left wing idiots.
