1. Who?
John Smith ,   London Uk   (11.24.10)
I've never heard of this group , so them not going to Israel is irrelevant. Its no big deal .
2. contradictions and inconsistencies in Israeli positions.
Moise   (11.24.10)
Its okey to boycott other human violator such as iran, N. corea Syria, S. Arabia including culturally but when it come to Israel boycot, for it's ill treatmment and the killing of Arabs, Israel and its sympathizers think academic and music should bring people together not appart. If only Israel had a constant position I would have understood and supported it's position.
3. big deal
Barney ,   USA   (11.24.10)
4. ^ Agreed
Alex ,   Brighton, UK   (11.24.10)
Who the hell are they? They're not worthy of Israel!
5. Israel doesn't need Goy music
Moshe   (11.24.10)
We have plenty of Israeli music and do not need goy bands anyway.
6. Tinder Who?
Nathan ,   Raanana   (11.24.10)
Israel can survive (even thrive) very well without them. Am Yisrael Chai
7. Human rights violator.
Barry ,   Eilat   (11.24.10)
If we played their music to the residents of Gazza, it would be a true violation of human rights and may be classified as torture. It could have been worse, they could have arrived. Baruch Hashem they didn't. Our ears are saved. Yet another miracle in Israel. Anyone think this may have been a publicity stunt to raise their zero profile?
8. Granted, I maybe old, but who are they?
leo ,   usa   (11.24.10)
9. Trendy & fashionable to bash Israel
GZLives   (11.24.10)
so this: Anyone think this may have been a publicity stunt to raise their zero profile? is EXACTLY what's going on. Expect more of the same. A blacklist should be made of these artists with the understanding that they will never play Israel - collectively or as members of any other bands. That ought to make each of them think carefully if this is a good career move for THEMSELVES since you can be sure not ALL members feel the same.
10. Where did you get the idea that Israel boycotts them, Moise?
Serge ,   Montreal, Canada   (11.24.10)
You might spend a little bit of time informing yourself.
11. "political pressures" - a euphemism for "Arab violence"
William ,   Israel   (11.24.10)
Another incident of bowing to Arab/Muslim racism and violence. What a shame, especially for an alternative band that markets itself as "anti-establishment"
12. Interesting placement of article in online Ynet
William ,   Israel   (11.24.10)
Right next to an article entitled "Art as a bridge to peace". Apparently not if self-righteous racist Leftists with an agenda are involved.
13. there must be reprecussions for this.
ralph   (11.24.10)
14. free publicity
ya'akov ,   USA   (11.24.10)
they will get more publicity from doing this than they will ever have again in their career so far. never heard of them until now and now i dont even WANT to hear them.
15. Oh my G-d, Israel is DOOMED, DOOMED!!!
Dan the Jafa ,   Auckland,Aotearoa   (11.24.10)
But seriously, invite somebody else. Somebody people heard about. Someone who matters, you know, like Metallica or Linkin park. Oh wait, they are already there.
16. Eh?
Ferp ,   Australia   (11.25.10)
So your musical knowledge sets up whether a gig's worthwhile to a country? AWESOME.
17. Never hear of these pudwhackers
BH ,   Iowa   (11.25.10)
Probably not missing anything.
18. Who in the hell are the Tindersticks? (end)
george ,   ashdod   (11.25.10)
19. TheTindertwits
Mark ,   Israel   (11.25.10)
Sue them, Mr Impressario
20. Tinder Who?
Lynn ,   London, England   (11.25.10)
Never heard of this group and never want to.
21. Cancellation
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (11.25.10)
Maybe this musical group is a minor player, but the news is good. Little by little, but steadily, the boycott-divestment-sanctions movement is growing, spreading, and becoming more firm. Perhaps no need for a final war to liberate the Holy Land; economic and legal actions hopefully will do the job.
22. Bravo!
Nathan ,   LA, USA   (11.26.10)
I've got to hand it to the Tinderstix (that's their name, right?) on their strong stance, really duping those evil Israelis by adding a second show before canceling both. How were they to know before today that there was a conflict going on in the Middle East? I'm glad someone brought it to their attention and that they backed out out of pure principle rather than simply succumbing to unconstructive pressure. I'm assuming that they stick to this principle in all of their shows, never playing in any country where they don't agree with each and every one of its government's decisions or its citizens' right to security. I'll assume, therefore, that they agreed with both the UK and the US in going to war in Iraq, since they didn't cancel shows in these two countries. And of course their shows in Turkey must mean that they agree with the denial of the Armenian genocide, the ethnic cleansing and illegal occupation of Northern Cyprus, and the bombing runs into Iraqi airspace that kill civilians in an effort to deny the Kurds the right to self-determination. They must agree with all of these things, since it would be suspicious otherwise that they single out the Jewish State with the severe punishment of not hearing their beautiful music.
