1. "The light shall become dark in his tent,
Norway   (11.28.10)
and his candle that is over him shall go out. The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his counsel shall cast him down. For he shall be sent into a net with his feet, and he shall walk on the toils. A trap shall seize him by the heel; He shall strengthen the thirsty ones over him" (Job 18:6--9).
2. Total fantasy ......
Terry ,   Eilat - Israel   (11.28.10)
Just propaganda for the naive, the gullible, & the uninformed. But, of course, the world is full of people who mistake rhetoric for reality.
3. Interesting Phrase: "unidirectionally negative"
emanon ,   USA   (11.28.10)
Have the arabs made *ANY* concessions? That sounds pretty "unidirectional" to me.
4. israel does everything "unidirectionally negative"?
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (11.28.10)
can anyone please tell me anything remotely positive palestinians have EVER done, ever??? i'd love to know because i've never heard or seen anything of the like.
5. Refusing to negotiate is not the way to get a state
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (11.28.10)
How can the "Palestinian" people not despair when their leaders have given up negotiating a settlement in favor of sound bite rhetoric? The longer Abbas refuses to negotiate the harder it will be for him to climb down from the tree he followed Hilary Clinton up. She and Obama have no problem backing down as they now realize that they made a mistake in judging how far they could push Bibi. When will Abbas learn that he backed himself into a corner and the rest of the world is beginning to see his lack of real ability to negotiate at all.
6. "founded on the basis of values that are...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (11.28.10)
universally shared: openness, tolerance, coexistence, equality, nondiscrimination, and full sensitivity to the rights, needs, and concerns of others. " If only this was true, although it makes great BS for left wing media. Let look at this statement, closely. At the Values: 1) "openness" - They have state controlled media. In Gaza run by Hamas reporters are regularly threatened. 2) "tolerance" - a brief look at any schoolbook, comparing Jewish and Christians to "apes and pigs" respectively. 3) "coexistence" - They want NO Jewish people in their new country. 4) "equality" - see # 2 & # 3 5) "nondiscrimination" - see # 4 6) "full sensitivity to the rights, needs, and concerns of others. " - in the current civil war between Hamas and Fatah at least 1,436 Palestinians have been killed by other Palestinians as of the beginning of Jan. 2010. It sounds pretty though, and if he was sincere he would be right. They are admirable ideas. To quote Salam Fayyad if he can take what he just wrote: "from abstract concept to reality" Then that would be something, what it is now though is only this. Like Arafat he tells the Western Media what he thinks they want to hear. But what does say when speaking to his own people?
7. He has reason to be happy
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (11.28.10)
They have done absolutely nothing and are being handed a state at our expense. The Arabs have no cards at all and yet are betting like they have a royal straight flush. We should call their bluff and just take the entire stakes and see what they think then.
8. "majorities on both sides facor 2-State solution"
William ,   Israel   (11.28.10)
well, with one caveat...why the majority of Israelis support a 2-State solution, with a sovereign Palestinian State and security, living side by side.... "Palestinians" support a 2-State solution as a step to a One-Arab State solution, taking the place of Israel, according to recent polling. Sure, they both have a majority that supports a 2-State solution, but for very different reasons.
9. Unidirectionality
Hal ,   Usa   (11.29.10)
So for the last 62 years the Arabs have been going in one direction, self inflicted statelessness and now they are trying to build a state? At this ratye they will be forming a govt in 2162. Arabicus patheticus.
