1. This article
Naomi C. ,   Israel   (12.16.10)
It is so wonderful to hear of young Jews such as these who love Israel so much. It seems as though the majority of young Jews around the world are assimilating out of the Jewish People, so kol hakavod to these great youngsters. May G-d bless them!!
2. Great article but the title is misleading
Baruch ,   paris, france   (12.16.10)
How can they be sabras when a sabra is necessarily a native-born Israeli?
3. #2
(12.16.10)
the article said NEW sabras. meaning they were not born in israel, but are new!!!
4. I think that this is a mistake
FD ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.16.10)
I think that "sabras" means those born in Israel. So these great young people are new Israelis but not new sabras.
5. Baruch: Tzabar is Hebrew for Sabra
Ari   (12.16.10)
6. Sabras
Albi ,   Ashkelon   (12.16.10)
It is ironic that sabras are not native to Israel or to the Middle East. All cactii originated in the Americas. Symbols can mislead.
7. Wow, what a bunch of pilpuling hairsplitters we Jews are!
Baruch ,   Paris, France   (12.17.10)
I wrote entry no.2 this morning gently kvecthing at the misuse of the word "sabra" in the headline. I've only gone back to the sceen now many hours later and see that ALL the other comments about this article are about how the word was used/misused. Just goes to show: We Jews will argue any subject to death!
8. Kibbutz Bar'am !
Jew ,   Europe   (12.17.10)
You might as well stay at a nearby Arab or Druse village, equally non-Jewish. Bar'am is the last place you should be as a Jew (especially, making aliyah!). Intermarriage is fully accepted, if not encouraged. You won't see ANYTHING Jewish (synagogue, mezuzot, kosher food, kippah).
9. Yes Baruch, but beware of schwitzing about it.
Ari   (12.17.10)
Your neighbors may not appreciate such "Jesuitism". Especially if they're praying rue Myrha.
10. Welcome Home, Boys!
Israelit ,   Israel   (12.17.10)
I am so proud of you!
11. enough schwitzing and kvetching over this!
manicdrummer ,   Madison, USA   (12.18.10)
Let's schmurtz over it for awhile.
12. 11 I am going to missing the schwitzing
ORA ,   Jerusalem   (12.18.10)
and kvetching when the peacetalks are over.Your suggestion to schmurz over it awhile is accepted with joy.
