32. Violent husbands s/b ostracised
John ,   Philadelphia   (12.06.10)
I agree - if they don't know how to play nice they SHOULD have it cut off....
33. #30--boy are you wrong!
Chava   (12.06.10)
Not only am I not an atheist, I have forgotten more about the Tanach than you will ever know. As a "messy-anic" X-tian, you have no business calling yourself Jewish. You can believe in whatever nonsense and pray to whomever or whatever, but that still doesn't make you Jewish nor does it make you sane.

35. It makes a difference...
to 31 edith ,   Il   (12.06.10)
I am an aguna for more than 15 years- I escaped from my house with my children due to not only violence, but cruelty; I went through a life threatening physical situation, and surgery because of the traumas left by the creature- the guy had a history not known to me but after the facts- I indeed put him in jail for damage proved to endager my life- he has money and "connections" so he came out of jail a couple of days after. The persecution and harrasing, didnt stop; and of course even being a false religious guy, he got away with everything; so a Rabbinical decision was reached many years ago- and NOW actualized and reinforced- and besides the huge sum he ows me since 95 as per qhat was decided -there was also an order of boycot -Herem for him- now after all this years the Rabs around the world are starting to enforce it- although he still scorns and openly stated that the Rabbinical decision had no Torah, Civil, or judicial power, I at last feel the support of Ravs and community. Believe you me IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE
36. All this is done already
to 6 ,   Il   (12.06.10)
We have several non profit organizations who provide shelter, psychological and legal advise to abused women and children from all social strata like Naamat, Emunah and a few other organizations. As per the Rabbinical decisions those are not new; the problem is that the legal and civil power authorities, don't until lately started minding or giving a little more attention to them.
37. Rivka - we are Jewish not Christian
To Rivka Missionary ,   Il   (12.06.10)
You are preaching as what you learned with your christian masters but we are the people with the original book- and laws are not as per your interpretations- you cant tell us or the learned people - what is the correct application- our Torah laws are not abisive- people can be abusive qith our Torah laws- and of course take advantage of dangerous and not rightful and incorrect opinions like yours. Our Torah was given to the people and the judges yhat each generation deserves- it's not unreachble
38. #35...You always knew you were better then he is!...
Edithann ,   USA   (12.06.10)
That's what counts...knowing you are a better person and certainly better off.. Garbage like that should be thrown away as soon as it's recognized... It's only the Rabbis who make the garbage hard to get rid of...and it's always the money... However, if you were a true autonomous woman, what the Rabbis say wouldn't affect you at all... Be an adult and tell them all to 'go to hell'! TATA
39. 33 Omri: Thank you. Rabbi Yeshua loves the people
(12.06.10)
of his heritage, the Jews, and Scripture says when the Lion of Judah comes in all His glory to deliver Israel, he will call the Jews who survive to see his coming, His FRIENDS. He will never forget them even if they don't know him or want to know him. He blinded their eyes to who he was when he sacrificed himself for the sins of the world. He loves them so I try to also. When I see a word from you here or there, I am so happy. I wish there was a place for me in your life and maybe someday there will be. I wish other people knew you as I do for being so kind to me and loving toward your family, devoted to the point it touches my heart and is an inspiration to me. I want to walk like a litte dog behind you and be a part of your family and your life since that is where happiness is like Obed-Edom found happiness in following wherever the Ark of the Covenant was in ancient times. But I am where I am needed for now, in the place of provision instead of the place of hope and dreams which is what your family gives to so many, not just to me. May ha'Shem bless and keep you from the wars that are to come. Don't be killed. Please don't be killed in the coming wars. Please be there when the Messiah comes. R.

earth through many Prophets and people God inspired, not just to the Jews. The Jews were keepers of the Torah and Tanakh and have miraculously kept the true Shabbat and many other aspects of the Torah. That is a wonderful thing. And all who want to be with YHWH eternally must become Jews in their hearts. But Jews like you are so mean, people turn away from what YHWH wants them to turn toward.

Sorry for your fate as an aguna. But isn't the bottom line that unless he willingly gives you a divorce you will remain one? Now, if a woman could get a divorce without it, or if the marriage could be annulled, that would be real progress. So would civil divorce, but it doesn't seem you would take that option were it offered. Be well.
42. to tell someone to go to hell...
edith ,   Il   (12.06.10)
is being an adult? or makes it a competition of who shouts the most and the best- it certainly wouldnt help me- or my children- and of course wouldnt make a hero out of me- i certainly know of who is going to go through real hell-
43. Jews like me?
to 40 Rivka ,   Il   (12.06.10)
What's your type of Jew- the one that falls ignorantly into your opinions- the one who agrees to everything you say - hey news! you're going to have a hard time- finding jews that accept and agree on all what you say- then your great love is really hate- love that kills
44. I cant take the civil divorce offer
to 41 ,   Il   (12.06.10)
Cause I was never married "civilly" I would take an offer to be a widow , though. Dont know if i'd remarry but all these years have been kidnapped from me- and no one to the rescue- I raised my children well, happy and good sense of humor- they are married and have their own children- my beautiful grandchildren- I want my freedom- for itself tohave the option - to know I can choose
45. Rivka , you are as Jewish as t6he pope is

I think you are a good and sincere human being. The posts you write are very interesting. However,as you write in a jewish site, you should sign with your xtian belief.Than you are talking of YOUR belief, and nobody would got mixed up with our jewish belief, which differs in some points with yours.I hope you will not mind my words, and will understand i mean it well with you.TBers won t be anymore angry at you.Keep well.
47. #44 - actually, were there civil divorce in Israel...
Dorothy Friend ,   Tel Aviv   (12.07.10)
...you could probably receive it on grounds of desertion and or cruelty. It doesn't matter how you were married. Rabbis force people who were married civil to divorce Jewish all the time if they want a 2nd marriage under Jewish law. But the men in black really have you up against the wall, don't they? So much for the idea that Judaism is a religion that respects and cherishes women. Be well.
48. On your oppinion about Rivka

44 to 47 ,   Il   (12.07.10)
Men in black- yes right- but again it's men who abuse Judaism- not Judaism men- twisting to their own interests and convinience- I agree with you- The beast is not in Israel- and we were married religiously as well abroad. I've got a Rabbunical decision- and as well apostilled thje document for the different countries- so to make it legal and a document with judicial power- ... lots done... and to do... but one sure thing: i dont give up/ Precisely the acts of men like these ones are really a Hillul Hashem- cause it causes and mislead the peoples believings about Judaism- also the legal system as you see, is not exactly fair and just / I wish you good as well

Rivkah   (12.08.10)
Christians who want to enter YHWH's Kingdom must become Jews in their hearts, too. You want me to call myself one of those idol worshippers with a false day for Sabbath, but that is not what I am. I observe a seventh day Shabbat and Jewish Holy Days (not Christmas or Easter which are pagan derived dates from heathen religions such as the December 25 birthday of Ra of Egypt, Mithra of Persia, Tamuz of Babylon, Zeus of Greece and Jupiter of Rome.) I do not worship JeZeus, a paganized form of Yeshoshua or Yeshua. I am Messianic which is a Jewish religion that believes the Spring Feasts of YHWH were fulfilled and that the Fall Feasts of YHWH will be fulfilled with the Lion of Judah, the Messiah. Please call me what I am which is Messianic.

ORA ,   Jerusalem   (12.08.10)
Thank you for informing me.I was really ignorant in this matter.Messianisme has also some differences with judaisme, and jews who don t know, you are messianic, could believe, that what you are saying is part of judaisme. It would be kind of you to mention it.Thanks Rivka, you are an outstanding human being.
