61. May I express my condolence for this disaster.
David Powell ,   Everett, Wa. USA   (12.02.10)
I noticed Prime minister Netanyahu asked Russia, Italy, Greece and Cyprus for assistance, but not Hussein Obama. Too bad, he wouldn't be getting any help from that SOB.
62. Irony
Aharon   (12.02.10)
First, I want to send my condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic event. Hopefully, the situation will be resolved soon without much more loss. However, I find it ironic and sad that Israel has built so much protection and defenses against missiles and terrorists that it can't even defend itself against a match or lighter. I'm a little surprised that Israel doesn't have better infrastructure to deal with such fires, what if it had been a rocket that would have started the fire? A major weakness is shown, and perhaps the government will learn, from this, not to be so arrogant. Whomever is responsible, will have to pay dearly for the destruction they've caused.

Arrogant ? I think not. A major weakness shown? I think not. Israel spends billions on protecting herself & her citizens against terrorism. Our government will learn from this tragedy. Nope, it wasnt a rocket.
64. Arson = Terroism

Who could be to blame? Why it must be the settlers! Or the Haredim! But wait, if either of these groups were even possibly involved, Ynet would be in high dudgeon. I just don't know who could be responsible. Maybe the Amish?
65. All vehicles should be painted with NO BURN paint and a top
Rivkah   (12.03.10)
coat of automotive paint and the fire would have burned right over the bus. With the windows closed, there could have been more survivors if the interior was also sprayed with NO BURN fabric protector. Homes in California fires that don't burn down are usually made of cement or NO BURN paint has been applied to all flammable surfaces. In the construction of vehicles like buses and ambulances, trucks and cars, buses, and RV's, and mobile homes, NO BURN applied at each stage of construction or manufacture would protect people in accidents like this. I have NO BURN sprayed on the inside of my vehicles, old RV on the inside and outside, the outside of a Wells Cargo trailer, the outside of one car, inside the attic, and inside the garage and on the outside of the house on all flammable surfaces. This is only common sense. It is affordable if done a little bit at a time.

Yes, there was arrogance because the government thought that it wasn't worth it's while to have the necessary infrastructure to deal with a forest fire and now they have to rely on foreign aid to deal with it. It's also a major weakness because there are many Arabs in the north, where there is also a lot of forest area. Especially with the dryness it was a problem waiting to happen. Obviously, the government will learn something from this, but it never really should have happened. I also know it wasn't a rocket that caused the fire, but if a rocket were to have landed in the forest, we would be facing the same problem. The point is, the government wasn't able to handle the situation, and that's disturbing.

Because even prisoners got lives too, you know! The fact that they have done something bad doesn't mean that they deserve to die in a fire!!! זה שהם אסירים בבית כלא, לא אומר שמגיע להם למות בשריפה! גם להם יש חיים!!! אסון. ישראל עצובה וכואבת.
73. To: No. 69
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.03.10)
What are you babbling about? There has been continuous Jewish presence since Biblical times. There may have been dispersions, but the Jews always came back whenever possible. There has never been a country called "Palestine;" and it became attractive to Arabs only after the Jews who came in the first and second aliyot drained the swamps in the north, pushed back the desert in the south and turned a barren and desolate land into a lush garden. For you to deny the connection between the Jewish people and Eretz Israel is simply ludicrous. You are an Arab, and you therefore call Arabia home. You are fooling no one.

Eastern European Jews died in the fires? WHAT on earth are you talking about? Read the news where you will see that both Jews and Arabs & Druze died together. Your ignorance is showing.
