First, I want to send my condolences to the families of the victims of this tragic event. Hopefully, the situation will be resolved soon without much more loss. However, I find it ironic and sad that Israel has built so much protection and defenses against missiles and terrorists that it can't even defend itself against a match or lighter. Yes, there was arrogance because the government thought that it wasn't worth it's while to have the necessary infrastructure to deal with a forest fire and now they have to rely on foreign aid to deal with it. It's also a major weakness because there are many Arabs in the north, where there is also a lot of forest area. Especially with the dryness it was a problem waiting to happen.
