31. shame on arabs
ozan ,   Turkey   (12.03.10)
how can one nation make a celebration about this ıt is so painful circumstance. God helps israeli people. ıt is very bad disaster.
32. Let them laugh while they can
shlomo ,   USA   (12.03.10)
If they try anything it will be quiet different from the last time. The vegetation is just as dry in Lebanon and Israel has the capability of using incendiary weapons if it chooses.
33. #15 so i guess when Germany will have a natiuonal disaster
(12.03.10)
it would be okay for Israelis to gloat and celebrate because of ww2? how would you feel if that were the case. this is not about politics it's about basic human behavior.
34. To: Barbara at No. 14
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.03.10)
Excellent point. Just a few years ago, Greece was horribly beset with fires that raged for months. That is why they were the first country to offer aid and assistance to Israel. Still -- the world IS watching. And reading. The Arabs are NOT doing themselves any favors with such public displays of joy, just as they did not do themselves any favors by rejoicing at the events of September 11, 2001.
35. Incompetence
Isser ,   Maale Adumim   (12.03.10)
It's true about Israel being unprepared for war or other catastrophes. During my many years of miluim I saw all the emergency equipment and their state of disrepair. I certainly hope that in the 15 years since I finished my service these issues were resolved.
36. Ahmed in Nablus
Arnold - Canada ,   Canada   (12.03.10)
To Ahmed in Nablus. I have never seen pictures of Israelis celebrating the death of you Palestinians. Just because you write this stuff does not mean it is fact. But you go on and celebrate all you want. That is a sign of your sickness as a human.
37.  hypocracy indeed!
michael ,   south africa   (12.03.10)
Some people never change in Germany.
38. #25 you forgot all the big fires in the US
rachel ,   usa   (12.03.10)
They were bigger than usual also
39. Hezbollah's Comment
Douglas Fireman ,   Niles   (12.03.10)
Typical of Hezbollah and other Culture of Death societies.
40. Missing the point
Daniel   (12.03.10)
Israel's enemies are not mocking this because they're happy at the deaths, they're mocking it because Israel has (once again) shown itself to be totally incompetant. Israel's main weapon is supposed to be its 'deterance', that everyone is so afraid of its prowress that they don't dare challenge it. Do you think the Arabs are going to more or less afraid of war with Israel now that they've seen the Israelis can't even handle a few forest fires without it turning into a shambles? And not just anywhere but near the border with Lebanon. How do you think Israel will manage when its thousandsof Hezbollah rockets raining down on them? Remember the humiliation in Lebanon in 2006? The pathetic attempt to make up for it by bombing defenceless Gaza refugee camps in 2008? The bungled assassination in Dubai which exposed over 20 Mossad secret agents? The idiotic storming of the Mavi Mamara where 30 unarmed civilians put up a good fight against Israel's elite commando unit? All of that made the Arab world less afraid of Israel, made them realise that actually the Israelis aren't so tough and they're not so smart.

42. One thing about Israel...is that she usually.....
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.03.10)
...learns from her mistakes. This is particularly true for the IDF...maybe less so for our politicians. This fire was probably arson and there's no divine message here. There is a message however, and that is to get our home guard and fire services up to scratch. As for you, Syrian Vulture #13 ..you're the one who should be contemplating your options in the unfortunate case of another showdown.
43. #19 Dino....Well said!
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.03.10)
44. #29 Bless you Geo..thank you for your kind words..
Mark ,   Lodz, Poland   (12.03.10)
45. This shows the incompetence and lies
jason white ,   afula,israel   (12.03.10)
of our elected officials and the civil servants. We should demand that they are fired or leave office and we need new elections with new people running. Enough with the professional politicians. Have a two term limit for all politicians. I wonder who the next retired judge will be to head up a commission of inquiry? I hope that the dried up goat will have half the intelligence of my cat. They will spend months with hearings and issue a report. But by then it will be summer and the arson will continue and there will be no extra firefighters, planes and chemicals.
46. Not Rejoicing
Alice ,   Pacific   (12.03.10)
The Iraqi commentator is correct - there is no rejoicing in the Arab media over the fires. If you look closely at the above article, they cannot cite a single source saying any such thing. They keep alleging that the Arabs must be THINKING like this, or HAVING these attitudes. AlManar's coverage of the fires was merely factual, and called it a natural disaster. There is a lot of amazment in the Arab media, as in the Israeli media, that Israel has so little fire fighting equipment.
47. Let's put OUR act together
Dangor ,   Canada   (12.04.10)
I don't see why should we worry about Hezbollah. The Israeli answer should be clear: we will be ready next time.
48. Pathetic
Zyx ,   lynx9135@hotmail.com   (12.04.10)
The result of 14 century of ismalic brainwashing. Pathetic stupidity.
49. INFERNO FLAMES
Tal M ,   Qiriat Ono   (12.04.10)
I think that the last thing we need to do now is to give our enemies "the stand" to tell us how they feel about the Carmel's inferno. how about let us finish this worst case scenario, and after that hear or read about they're behaviour?
50. too many lies
Mumd ,   South Lebanon   (12.04.10)
Same as mistraslating the talks of hassan Nasrallah. this some thing you cant prove. go to al manar website and see the israeli lies your self.
51. Israeli Fires
GMB ,   UK   (12.04.10)
Typical dishonesty from Israeli media who would stoop so low as to make anti Arab propoganda out of this. I doubt if anybody celebrates the fires.
52. Hizbollah's indifference
Elie ,   Sydney Aust   (12.04.10)
Just keep in mind, Hizbollah is not Lebanon and does not represent the Lebanese. They will burn the whole country [Lebanon] to serve their own purposes!
53. Stupid Arabs
Mark ,   Los Angeles, USA   (12.04.10)
54. Ahmad Nablusi #4
Mikey ,   SomeWhere OverHere   (12.04.10)
We all remember about Arabs dancing when Scud missiles and Katysushas rained on our cities, as well as when buses exploded on our streets by suicide bombers. Keep in mind that the entire region is in danger from a major earthquake as well, it is just as likely to hit Nablus/Shekhem as Jerusalem or Tel Aviv (a big one hit Nablus in 1927). So do you think we should laugh when it happens?
55. Concerned #25--you can't blame Turkey for Superblazes
Mikey ,   SomeWhere OverHere   (12.04.10)
But you can probably blame global warming. I'm no fan of the Erdogan government and have been very disappointed in Turkey in recent years, but there is nothing to suggest they are to blame for any of this and they are due thanks for the assistance they have rendered along with Greece, Bulgaria, even Egypt and Jordan (and the many other countries). I am annoyed about Israeli unpreparedness, but no country is invincible against nature's power. The fire may have started because of arson, or it may have been an accident. No one knows at this point.
56. Tragedy and those that mock
Joel Weltman ,   Hollywood, Florida   (12.04.10)
It should be remembered that Israel is always in the first rank of disaster aid workers whenever and wherever in the world that natural calamity strikes. Can the same be said of the criminals who call themselves Hamas, Hezboullah, or the rogue states of Iran and Syria? Arabs like these are the lowest of the low who deserve no respect from the civilized nations of the world.
57. # 30
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.04.10)
Over 35,000 dunams of forest have been burnt as of now.Thats quite a large amount. Have a look at a map of Israel, look for the Carmel Forest in the north of Israel & see for yourself. The fires were not all in one place/area & therefore were/are hard to contain.
58. # 4
Birdi ,   Israel   (12.04.10)
WRONG, you did not learn to celebrate death from us Israelis. We have NEVER danced out of joy on the death of your children, nor have we taken pictures-trophies near your children's bodies. Your Arab brothers were burnt alive yesterday & you are rejoicing that ? thats very sick.
59. to 15
(12.04.10)
Adolf Schickelgruber, you are such a good example of your father's mentality
60. and who can blame them... Its a sign from
RJBH ,   Methil   (12.04.10)
The Gods... and they are displeased.
