I live in the Galilee in an agricultural village. When you drive by Arab villages an extremely common site is smoke. This smoke is usually from someone burning garbage, or during this time of the year, they are burning tree prunings, specifically from the olive trees they are picking. There are many people still on the Moshavim (ones that have a majority of sephardi Jews) who will do the same thing. Over the years, there has been a rise in the awareness of the danger of such activities, and often the local fire department might enforce the laws that are supposed to prevent these acts. But there are still many ignorant and stupid people who light fires to clean up brush and whatever. A few months ago a neighbor set a tall palm tree on fire in order to kill it, another common practice here. It was a very hot and dry day too. You have to wonder if such idiots are learning anything now. We don't need terrorists to set these fires (altho that has been proven over the years to exist). We have our own ignorant idiot civilians to do it.

in California, around orange county there r wild fire very often, I don't think you even care about them. some Americans r just idiots.

Many Arabs in the north of Israel and of course most Arabs around the world find a sick sense of joy watching the fires in Israel. But God will send more than enough rain and those that are setting the fires will have nothing to burn.
