1. Leave ugly politics aside for once!
Turk ,   Istanbul   (12.04.10)
It is terribly ugly to talk about petty politics at times like this. Nature is burning and people are suffering. At least now, shut up Erdogan. You are embarrassing the Turkish nation. Israelis, we are sharing your pain and we are ready to help you recover from this disaster together. Please just ignore Erdogan, that's how we deal with his ugly politics.
2. What a Little Child,
Jeff T ,   Canada   (12.04.10)
The little Hitlers puppet gets his cue to rattle sabre. This is why you never see talkback Turks in here as they are ASHAMED of this sub human being called Erdogan and his cult.
3. Turkey: 2 stinking planes.Bulgaria sent a 100 men.
(12.04.10)
4. #1 Turk
alexi   (12.04.10)
Well said. There are many secular and even moslem turks who appreciate the disaster and the help that israel has rendered to turkey during its earthquake. It is not the time for anyone to say that you owe me for offering help. If erdogan does not want to do the humanitarian gesture, he should not. You see nasrollah in a classic goulish manner celebrating the misfortune of israel. You also see this from islamic jihad. And if israel didn't exist, they would turn their hatred towards other arab groups. All of these haters will be consumed by the fires of their own hatred. Believe it, they will get burned.
5. Israel appreciates the two planes...
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (12.04.10)
Hopefully it would help renew old ties, but if Turkey expects an apology from Israel regarding the flotilla. Frankly that's old news, and the truth is out about the staged flotilla incident. The facts are this: 1) There was no crisis in Gaza, there fore no need for aid ships. 2) The aid on the ship was useless i.e. outdated medicine, technical equipment needed was not on the ships, etc. 3) The Israeli blockade was legal under International Law as was the enforcement of the blockade. 4) Turkey was given prior notice not to let the ships sail, as is required by International Law. 5) Many of the passengers on board had proven links with terrorists and terror groups. 6) Israel offered to offload the aid and ship it using overland routes and 5 of the 6 ships accepted this offer and there was no violence. 7) All the video's clearly show the terrorists on the 6th ship provoked the violence. In addition a spokemen for the 6th ship stated their goal was NOT to bring aid to Gaza, but was in fact to to break the blockade, which is an act of war against Israel. Based on this and some other relevant facts, Israel certainly owes no apologies to anybody, Why Turkey keeps repeating the same lie over and over again borders on the bizarre.
6. Don't worry Erdogan - we downplay it too!
(12.04.10)
It means nothing cwhen weighted against the racist and hateful incitement and blood libels against Israel on Turkish media and by your government. Don't think for one second that we don't know what we are talking about! We regard this "aid" is a tiny debt payment for our unlimited help we gave Turkey in better days during earthquakes. Your evident hatred is not forgotten or set aside - we KNOW you too well!
7. Good

8. Senior official
Marilyn ,   USA   (12.04.10)
The Wikileaks are more a product of the American people and the need to be in control and to have the truth.
9. Whats all the fuss? he simply stated
Eitan   (12.04.10)
the help is being given for humantiarian reasons, stop barking already.
10. NO, its BIBI who already wanted to bury the flotilla in the
eporue ,   europe   (12.04.10)
ashes of this disaster - with his comment... israel has to apologize for the flotilla and compensate the victims. its the only decent thing to do. ...and dont think, this is not much watched - and expected - by the rest of the world... dont allow your government to step even lower now - by abusing this disaster and turkeys aid to get away with it ... they wont, anyway... doesnt it terrify you, that this now was the first time after he took office, that bibi called erdogan - who, until that, was your strongest and most important alley in the middle east ?
11. neighbors
US ,   USA   (12.04.10)
With neighbors like this ...I would put my house for sale . Israel does not need to ask why their neighbors are rejoicing right now But Israel doesn't get it the easy way ..They need to be kicked out . OK then .
12. This sick antisemite will soon end in defeat !
Jaacov Baumann   (12.04.10)
'' He who curses Israel will be cursed !'' Israels God has many ways to do the job - just waitt and see !
13. Erdogen knows everyone is reading the leaks about him
GZLives   (12.04.10)
and he's reading reading the leaks about what the Sunni Arabs are saying about his new pal in Tehran .... and the Turkish military is reading all of it.
14. Some clarrification guys
Ibrahim ,   Ankara, Turkey   (12.04.10)
PM Erdogan simply said: "The two things are seperate issues" (refering to the political situation with Israel and the fire). PM Erdogan also cables his condolences to the Israeli peoples. What did you want the guy to do...At the very least I am happy to see that my government is not like the Iranian regime. PM Erdogan has common sense and an understanding of human value. He is not cheering like some evil leaders are because 40 innocent people perished in the fires. Please view this man without prejudice and try to understand him. Israel is far better off with Turkey leading the Islamic world than Iran. Also help Turkey assume leadership in the Islamic world by apoligising for the 9 dead Turkish citizens. No matter what these individuals motives were at the end of the day 9 Turkish citizens are dead.
15. #3 ''2 stinking planes''
Robert ,   USA   (12.04.10)
two ''stinking planes'' is as much as, or more than, the amount of help sent by several other of the 15 or so countries which sent equipment to Israel. Do you feel equally ungrateful and disgusted about the number of fire-fighting aircraft sent by these other countries?
16. #1 where were you when Turks were killed in high seas?
Nour ,   Palestine   (12.04.10)
Do you care about your fellow citizens ? I guess you represent Turkish elite.
17. Lesson...
peter vojta ,   czech republic   (12.04.10)
Fires in Israel Obamas "top priority"???..and with comments of open ARROGANCE one can only agree with people like Alzmon, G.Levy and others about the "unparalleled situation" in Humankind history how low can people fall. Every normal human being wants to help in case of disaster ....and when its over, Israel should make changes and prove to the international community that it has place among "nations" and behave according international rules. But r. Ovadia Yosef would has rather different opinion and thats the problem and road to real "disaster"....peter czech
18. Lily-White Turkey
Dallas ,   Canada   (12.04.10)
Erdogan has more to apologize for than Israel ever has. His intransigence and holding on to the flotilla "peace" fantasy shows us that he's nothing but an extremist ideologue and has not the wisdom to discern between a true humanitarian action and a deliberate provocation. He does represent the personality of Turkey, and if I were a Turkish citizen I would consider him a huge embarrassment on the world stage.
19. #14 Ibrahim from Ankara
Dallas ,   Canada   (12.04.10)
Erdogan cannot lead the Islamic world. The suicide activists, as you yourself implied, were provocateurs, and 9 of them died, but really, how can you expect Israel to agree that these wanna-be shahids had the moral high ground? You are expecting Israel to condone islamic "martyrs"? They did nothing except provoke their own deaths by their belligerence, and have no one to blame but themselves. It was "suicide by cop". Simple.
20. #15;Robert, the difference is....
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (12.04.10)
To the best of my knowledge the other countries kept politics out of it. The leaders of those countries did not come out and insist that Israel owes them some sort of an apology for a prior event that at best was questionable. Since #3 chose to be anonymous with their remarks, why are you so annoyed, by them. I thought Erdogan was out of line as well. You would think politics could be put aside for the time being. BTW it seems, according to other articles in this same paper, many in the Arab world are gleeful about this crisis. Like the dancing in the streets on 9/11. So save your hollow indignation.
21. My condolescences
Observer1 ,   Chrangbegbo, Ghana   (12.04.10)
My Condolences to Israel for this natural disaster.I feel your pain. As concerning Erdogan, well, actually when ynet reported that Turkey, too, was coming to help, I read the article to see what this was all about and it wasn't two paragraphs below before I understood that they didn't really decide to send two planes: Germany asked them to. So it follows naturally that the beast couldn't hide its bestiality for too long. Once again, my heartfelt Condolences to the Jewish State.
22. It was the natural thing to do. Israel would do the same
JO   (12.04.10)
no one expects a break in relations from this.
23. #1 Turk , What you should learn from "Israel'?!
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.04.10)
Dignity and respect for the "Israeli citizens" transcends all other considerations. Turk, Mr. Erdogan at least put aside the blood of Nine Turkish citizens and did not hesitate to help the "Israelis", because he's not racist.
24. Ya Salama!
Lippy ,   Proud Israeli   (12.04.10)
Hey Salama, what's with this "Israeli citizen's" and "Israelis" in all your talkbacks? Your keyboard stuck on " " before and after you type an I?
25. #24 you proud of what?!!
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.04.10)
Stupidity, ( I ) guess ;P
26. #16 sour
Jrodstein ,   Basalt, Colorado   (12.04.10)
turk does represent the Turkish elite. He has a brain! You obviously represent the typical arab doffess.
27. 25# proud of still living in our land
ygalg ,   israel   (12.04.10)
despite your countless attempt to do the otherwise you don't have a real history here to be proud of hence why you unable to claim as well you borrow narrations to make yourself count. just like Koran depends on the bible.
28. Salma #25
Lippy ,   Even Prouder Israeli   (12.04.10)
No Salma. You must be the stupid twit. I'm a Proud Israeli because I have a state and citizens thereof, something you don't have and not ever likely to have.
29. Turkey & Israel are secret lovers
John ,   amsterdam   (12.06.10)
