1. dumb careless Arabs destroyed the Carmel
(12.04.10)
2. Aha!!! negligence !
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.04.10)
don't balme the Gov't , you know they're very busy settling (stealing land) in Jerusalem and the Pal West Bank, you can put the blame on Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
3. Do you know how to read?
Paul ,   Israel   (12.04.10)
Read the article! It clearly states that other fires were started by arsonists as the distance between the fires are illogical. Try some humanity and humility for size, you might surprise yourself.
4. To: No. 2
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.04.10)
You think? (Actually, you don't think; that's part of your problem.) Arab negligence led to over forty deaths. That makes it manslaughter, and those responsible are going to prison.
5. dumb #1
zooz ,   gaza   (12.04.10)
what ??? are you joking ??? arabs ??? why would we do that ? what for ? ask your settlers who arson the olive trees that is hundreds of years old .. islam forbids cutting even 1 tree . its easier always to blame arabs because then no one had to hold responsibility . Palestine had been our country for thousands of years and those trees were planted by arabs and moslims , yet when you occupied the country you desroyed every natural location were distroyed and dried up by you . look at Hola , Tvaria , dead sea ... you consumed them and then blame us .
6. # 2 salma
ahoovah   (12.04.10)
Give us a break ! This is not the way you thank people who put electricity and water in your house and gave you modern technology like your pc and internet

WHAT AN DISGUSTING COMMENT THIS SEEMS TO ME - -JOKING AND JERKING AROUND IN COMMENTS, ABOUT MANY INNOCENT CIVILIANS DEATHS. Arn.

cations. so, when now the first (and main) fire was caused by a bonfire, then there must be (circumstancial) evidence, that it was not related to the others - that it was not arson. have they found the people, who lit the bonfire ? if so, will they be charged for a compensation, or not ?
9. #5: its - unfortunately - not avoidable, when land gets "cul

tivated", settled, that nature is destroyed. today, "we" know much more about those issues and how to avoid... so you are free in gaza to make keep it a nature reserve, without streets, cars, production plants (greenhouse effects), or whatever else is damaging (e.g. any plastic (bags, bottles etc), left to rot just at the place you emptied it)... looking forward, to visit your model-country any time soon :)
10. #3 - Actually, it is YOU who do not know how to read
Doug ,   Rochester, USA   (12.04.10)
The article does not "clearly states that other fires were started by arsonists". You just made that up. And Salma's comments about negligence are related to the fire that caused the deaths, that the rabid right has been incorrectly blaming on "Arab terrorists".
11. Osafiya is a Druze township
Sagi   (12.04.10)
and Druze are neither dumb nor Arabs. Apologies please.
12. To # 10
Paul ,   Israel   (12.04.10)
Read paragraph 5, what the police official said. A direct quote. He says VERY CLEARLY " It is not a fire that is consuming an entire area. You can see that the fires are 4 or 5 km apart" and that "these were not set by a spark flying in the air". READ and DEDUCE. BTW, I do not belong to the rabid right. I actually believe in land for peace. Problem is with people like Salma ( which comes from the root meaning "peace", her name is clearly a misnomer), who spreads hate at every turn, and with you too, it seems. There is no way of knowing which fire caused the deaths.
13. Why some want to be political
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (12.04.10)
Because they have nothing better to do. Those who will go unnamed, seem to have a bee in their bonnet, should be ignored. So the investigation has lead to maybe someone didn't put our their campfire. Not at all that unusual. Smokey the Bear here in the U.S. ran at a 20 year campaign about this very subject. It happens, it's tragic but that's all it is. What is more interesting is the other 3 fires set by arsonists. Who were these people? Are they pyromaniacs or is it more terrorism? It all likelihood we will never know. But when people start to post talkbacks that are political in nature about stolen land and such, ignore them. They cannot prove those claims to begin with, and frankly have nothing to do with this conversation about the fires and what caused them. Resist the urge to respond to such ignorant remarks.
14. #11: Druze are Arabs
(12.04.10)
15. ossifiya
avi ,   haifa   (12.04.10)
it looks like the "specialists' are already desperately looking for a scapegoat. ' a bonfire near the druze village ...... blah, blah, blah. on thursday, a private pilot reported!!!! a smoke pillar near the outskirts of ossifiya. that was at 11 am. but the first fire firefighter arrived at the scene at 1 pm. no mayor fire was reported. Would the fire not engulf the village first instead of running it's deadly course across the carmel ridge only to come 3 days later back and theaten the village seriously? doesn't make sense. and what about the fires, 52 reported on TV over the weekend ? near akko, the krajot, maalot. near jerusalem and in the negev? flying sparks? no one ahould so early come to the conclusion that a "druze bonfire" caused the catastrophy as long as there are reports of four original sites. and what about all the other fires, laid to obstruct fighting the fire on the carmel. some druze conspiracy? don't make yourselves ridiculous.
16. local custom.....
galilean ,   Israel   (12.04.10)
It is a local custom to clean up yards, pruning and garbage dumps by burning them. Israel has made this illegal, but our Arab villages ignore this law and burn anyway. You will still find Jewish farmers practicing this custom, but there is more law and order in Jewish villages and so less fires. I am going to use the opportunity of such a tragic event to complain again to our local council about fires I have seen in villages under their control.
17. Yeap
Yossef ,   on my way to J'lem   (12.04.10)
"you can put the blame on Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " OK, I'll do... And now, so what? Do you feel better my dear ? Once I told you, Salma, that you must find a man who deserves you, well, still agree, but choose him strong!!! He better pass a stress-test before :-]) You are so provocative, you're a master ;)
18. Rabbinical teaching doesn't hold water, this is why . . .
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (12.04.10)
Rabbinical teaching doesn't hold water, this is why your country is burning.
19. #5: I have some Anopheles mosquitos for you, in case you've
malaria fighter ,   retired   (12.04.10)
forgotten what was here before Zionists came
20. PEOPLE - IGNORE SALMA
Jew   (12.04.10)
She's craving for attention and has absolutely no ideas to contribute, only her poison. Don't bother with her anymore
21. Why did it take two hours???
Chaya ,   Tel Aviv   (12.04.10)
Why did it take two hours for firefighters to get to the fire????
22. stop blaming each other!
stopthestupidfights   (12.04.10)
It was clearly a series of circumstances that led to this fire! Many are to blame - including arsonists - and people who just didn't take care. But also the gov is to blame: They failed! It is wrong to now blame Druze and Arabs for this, as they suffer the same from it as their jewish neighbors.
23. preliminary
J ,   Isr   (12.04.10)
most of you are ignoring the fact that this is a preliminary investigation. And all of you democracy lovers agree that a person is innocent till proven guilty. if someone was indeed found to be guilty of negligence then yes they must be punished accordingly. and negligence isn't only attributed to arabs, all of us on a daily basis experience how careless and passive israeli drivers (arabs and jews) are. Point is, accidents like this happen all the time and it seems that we didn't recieve a timely reponse to the fire for whatever reason. and more clearly, the goverment wasn't ready to handle this kind of crisis which is negligence on their part! so people, yes, stop making this political and thing positively!
24. It is interesting to c the difference between these TBs....
Peppermint Paddy   (12.04.10)
and the TBs attached to the articles which reported the fire in Jerusalem on 25 July 2010. The 25 July 2010 fire was caused by negligent Ultra-Orthodox Jewish youngsters who just walked away leaving a burning fire going! go back and check what some of you wrote as TBs back then....the tone was completely different! Why is that?
