Nora Tel Aviv   (12.06.10)
She could try to drive away with her car in order to flee the wildfire. But she didn`t. Instead, Tomer tried to save the whole forty of the prison guards trapped in the burning bus. She and the two other police officers with her, payed heroically the heaviest price of all....their lives.

Greater Love Has No" Man" than to lay down her life for her brethren (Romans 5 Brit Hadash) It was like extended mother love........... Blessed are the pure in Heart for they shall see God. A Righteous woman before the Lord she surely passed into His Presence surrounded by prayer and in His Grace. That is the comfort her family need to know, not secular platitudes

Ahuva Tomer, the forty one people burnt to death on the bus, and the other victims, including 16 year old volunteer, Elad Riban, an only child, may they rest in peace, died because of negligence by successive governments of the State of Israel. The Emergency Services are undermanned and badly equipped because of the failures of our politicians to ensure the safety of the people of our country. What ambulance service in a "civilized" country, a member of the OECD, survives from donations? Yes, two kids may have started the fire but if the right equipment had been on hand, the fire would have been extinguished and the resulting tragedy would not have happened. The real criminals in this disaster are the Treasury, the Government and the Knesset. The only thing that interests them is their own pockets and political survival and to hell with the people they are supposed to serve. Benjamin Netanyahu, praised for his "leadership" by Minister Gilad Erdan in the Knesset today, must resign and call a General Election and there must be a full State Inquiry with the power to impeach. The Buck Stops on your desk, Prime Minister! Some might say that the same self-reeking politicians will come back to the Knesset after an election. If that is the case, then the people of Israel will only have themselves to blame for future tragedies.

This story about Ahuva Tomer's tragic death also appeared in Yahoo News, and attracted all sorts of vile antisemitic sicko's who use it as a platform to air out some unbelievably revolting comments. It is our duty to fight these animals back. So sign into your Yahoo accounts, and then enter this link: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20101206/ap_on_re_mi_ea/ml_israel_fire
26. #23 Negligence - a rampant problem
Josh   (12.06.10)
In most countries they understand the dangers of forest fires. I don't think that is true here, regretfully. In other nations, police are the first ones to call in resources to check and close dangerous roads so that uneducated non-emergency service people do not accidentally travel such a dangerous road. We relly on the police and fire to keep us safe. Should we look at this incident and wonder? Road blocks and air support are called in to give updates and evacuate people. In this case, it was not a bystander but emergency services leading the trek. Accidents will happen, but the basic education and safety rules are written in books and should be taught and tested in our forces. Yeeheeya besder is not always true.
