Cameron ,   USA   (12.06.10)
Your rat, your burden.
8. :: #7 - She and husband never harmed the US
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.06.10)
Although statutory espionage, all the information they supplied was about a 3rd enemy country that the US had in its possession and despite a prior agreement refused to give ally Israel. Not one spy who, unlike the Pollards, harmed the US in a serious way has ever spent 20 years in a US prison in the last 50 years.
9. :: #7 - We better use the money to prop up millions illegals
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.06.10)
to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars in 30 years.
10. #6
Brod ,   USA   (12.06.10)
They were Russian spies. Russia was America's enemy during the Cold War.
11. Thank you for taking this POC off our hands

Watch your step. Do not play the sneak & weasel with us. Nothing more to be said on this particular issue.

Sounds more like an AntiSemite vermin.
14. Why did she divorce her husband? How disloyal.
Rivkah   (12.07.10)
15. Should we count, Cameron
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (12.07.10)
The number of spies America sends to sneak and weasel with her own allies? I'm sure it would come up on Wikileaks sometime (if it hasn't by now). And speaking of which, don't you find it odd that Pollard gets such ferocious hatred, while Bradley Manning, who has caused about a hundred-fold more damage to the US than Pollard - gets off relatively easy as far as public opinion, and is a much-less hated figure than Pollard? I bet he would even be set free sooner. Don't get me wrong, I can certainly understand America's anger with Pollard, but your holy indignation is hypocritical and unbecoming.
16. #10 You only strengthen Sarah's point, Brod
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (12.07.10)
American citizens who are spying for the Soviet enemy cause much more damage, and are much more despicable than those spying for a friendly country.
17. Pollard & The Lies
irving ,   Chicago, USA   (12.07.10)
To those of you who still don't realize how manipulated you are relative to the damage done by Pollard, an agent for the Israeil govenment (remember morons he was paid a monthly salary) keep in mind one major fact: Pollard stole and sold to Israel more than one million pages of highly classified documents. Pollard alone said that he screened these one million pages then made up an outrageous lie about some secret treaty under which Israel should have gotten these documents. Think about it: how stupid are you to believe the pro-Pollard nut cases who sell you a bill of goods. Some of you are as stupid as the koolaide drinkers in Jonestown. You are as dumb as a bag of rocks. Know the facts and argue them but acknowledge that Pollard is a traitor to the US. What was Israel doing paying Pollard to steal the secrets?
18. I never did understand
Little Miss Muffett ,   Sitting on a Tuffett   (12.07.10)
I never understood why Pollard was so seriously punished. After all, he was spying for Israel, our friend, not for the Russians or the Chinese. I don't mean to condone what he did, and I know that an example did need to be made of him to send a message to other would-be spies, but honestly I think the US should have only jailed him for a year and then commuted his sentence and sent him to live out his life in Israel. Israel is our friend, and a special friend at that. We should be sharing as much intelligence with them as we can as long as it doesn't compromise our own safety. After all, Israel is in a very precarious position in the world and we have a duty to stand by and help.
19. wasn'
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (12.07.10)
20. wasn't she a drug addict with much emotional probs?
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (12.07.10)
Does any one remember when she came to Israel the first time? It seems to me she had quite a load of problems such as drugs and presonal etc... Can some one verify this? or is it my weak memory????
21. You can count burnt trees for all I care, Tahl at #15
Cameron ,   USA   (12.07.10)
You waste your time, and ours, by endlessly fussing about Pollard. You will abide by our verdict & punishment of that slippery rat. Your nation has a great many more weightier issues to deal with. Get on with it.
22. Too little, too late. How do u give her life back? n/m
sifter ,   chicago   (12.07.10)
23. :: #17 - What was US doing concealing secrets from Israel?
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.07.10)
Israel has been a staunch ally of the US yet at the time and to this day the US has not been fully upfront with information it has on Israel's sworn enemies that want its annihilation and nothing else. All the while the US has been spying on Israel's strategic assets 24 hours a day using Tel-Aviv based diplomats and by other means. The Liberty affair is one case in point. Israel has never made a big deal out of it because of friendship reasons and the US is obligated to return the favor.
24. :: So this is a one sided affair - #21?
Matty Groves ,   Fairport   (12.07.10)
US has the right to spy on Israel for the sake of keeping the Middle East oil flowing, and Israel has no right to spy on US to obtain information vital for its survival in the region? You have a very twisted mind if you cannot understand that Israel doesn't do it because it wants some economic benefit or one leg up on the US.
25. #20 she has emotional problems...she's not a junkie!
(12.07.10)
really! This poor non-Jewish woman took on more than she could chew when she married Pollard. Her first time in Israel she was given an apartment in TLV and a huge Israeli stipend at the time NIS 20,000 a month. Even at today's rate of exchange NIS 20,000 is very close to USD 5,000. Most Americans would be happy with a handout like that! What her story really is none of us will ever know...she's a real miskena (poor thing).
26. Wow! r these TBers really serious? what a pompous bunch!
(12.07.10)
27. It doesn't work this way, Cameron
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (12.07.10)
You badmouth and ridicule this woman, who has done no harm to your country, for no apparent reason but malice. Then you very smugly pontificate to Israel about spying on America. And when faced with some very legitimate and pertinent arguments from critics, you conveniently sidestep and avoid them, only to resort back to empty slogans. Public debate does not work this way, my friend. Your failure to properly address my and Matty's valid points, only strengthens the absurdity of your righteous indignation. Having read many of your posts, you striike me as a rather sharp-minded fellow, so frankly, I expected more from you than this. Indeed my nation has plenty to deal with, but so does yours nowadays, right? Anyways, have a great day and keep warm.
28. US traitors... you will get yours yet...
Bin   (12.07.10)
Pollard's transfer of information the U.S. should not have kept from its alleged ally did no harm to the US, or US relations abroad. His punishment is outrageous... But America will get what's coming to it... a lot less sensational than 9-11, but far more destructive to the core...
29. The item above says:
(12.07.10)
"On Monday, Pollard was flown to Israel by the initiative of the government, in hopes she will rehabilitate in the Jewish state." Did Ann Pollard want to come to Israel or was she kidnapped by Israel in order to keep her quiet?
30. #14 Rivkah- prize for most pointlessly heartless post
