Originally we were promised free F35s The freeze was not going to include Jerusalem. Obama would not demand another freeze in 3 months. That offer made the mainstream parties think it was to good an offer to pass up and even Shas backed it. Then we decided to ask Obama to put it all in writing and suddenly everything changed. If we wanted the planes we would have to pay for them ourselves. The freeze must include Jerusalem. If no agreement on borders can be reached within that 3 month freeze Obama would not rule out demanding another freeze. If Obama had been willing to put his money where his mouth was and agreed to put his promises on paper for us to wave if he broke them then he would have his freeze. The fact that he went back on all his promises when we asked him to put it in writing shows he can't be trusted and a settlement freeze should be kept as a bargining chip. If the price is right we freeze but no more goodwill gestures which only result in more demands.

Sir, when the Vice-President of the US, Mr. Biden visited Israel in spring this year and was confronted with the behaviour of Israel's political ruling elite, for many it was clear that Israel does not care about peace in the region as long as they are the strongest power there and the USA does not stop the annual basic financial aid of $3 billion. The Israeli/American lobby is very busy and makes sure that Congress (Senate / House of Repres.) supports the financial aid and also makes sure that the failure of the Iraq war and the many dead soldiers is not associated in the American mind with the unresolved Israeli/ Pal. conflict.
