1. More than one way...
Adam Neira ,   Melb, Australia   (12.10.10)
There is more than one way to skin a cat. Real trust building and peacemaking is a very creative process. The skill of all of the players is the key here. The test is what happens on the ground. May wise heads oversee and facilitate the process. The value of peace to the land is priceless. The true potential of humankind has just been tapped.
2. Can any leftist tell me WHY it is SUCH an
Israeli 2   (12.10.10)
urgent necesity to continue to negotiate...and...while you are at it... negotiate what? The only negotiation that may be valid is to have King of Jordan be part of the negotiation and agree to absorb them within his kingdom. They speak the same language and have for most part the same religion. They may even have the same aspirations.
3. I recall Barak gave them at one point almost
Israeli 2   (12.10.10)
all of Jerusalem. Sharon actually gave them the entire blooming Gazan real estate. Does Barak now want to give them Tel Aviv and Haifa as well?
4. And that is the problem with Ehud Barak...
Julie ,   Israel   (12.10.10)
Ehud Ehud Ehud....... when will you learn the names of the places in your own country ?? Judea and Samaria is what you are referring to. And yes, you nearly gave away our country.

6. Here we go again: the freeze was a gesture, all of a sudden
Bat Zion ,   Central Israel   (12.10.10)
it has become a must? And why has Abbas avoiding the talks during to freeze? Sit down and talk, lets come to SOME agreement, and we can all live happily ever after.
7. There IS a 2-state solution already
Eli   (12.10.10)
religious and secular. Isn't that enough? Sharing it with arabs will make it 3-state which is not part of the deal, unless secularists leave, since without the religious, the jewish character would be missing. If it will appear like any other non jewish country, jews have no right to this state at all.
8. But Momy, I stole my friends' sandwiches last week!
Nour ,   One-State   (12.10.10)
So...it follows that I can steal his juice and candy this week! The logic is so obscenely twisted, it's about time a hard spank is administered! Europe has put the ball in motion, watch for more frequent, and harder spanking.

13. why ????
lolwa again   (12.10.10)
faster to leave the negotiation when it is with standing up ..when you can not understand so standup it is simple ..hahaha once mr. zozo said about the owner of the house ... he wants to rent his ass and want to sit on it
14. So what Barak?
James   (12.10.10)
Just because the Palestinians foolishly allowed Israel to trick them once, doesn't mean they must continue to let Israel play them for fools and build illegal settlements while pretending that it seeks peace. If Israel truly wants peace, then it must stop changing the facts on the ground--its a very simple concept.
15. # 8 how dare you
hummos ,   is ours too   (12.10.10)
our own g-d gave us everything, my father from poland told me so. you have problem go and complain to yours. you cannot argue with arguments.
16. Amusing Nonsense
Mark of Lewiston ,   Lewiston USA   (12.10.10)
Barak wants talks so there would be no reason for elections and he can keep the cushy job. He's no more interested in achieving a settlement than Netanyahu. Both want Eretz Israel and for the Arab population to disappear and certainly never vote. His 2% figure is utter BS. Look only at the land mass of the West Bank that Ariel comprises. The idea of continuing talks before the UN recognizes and admits Palestine as a full member is a waste of time. The current Israeli government was elected to avoid that possibility. And it is doing what it was elected to do - avoid peace. It cannot even talk borders or security without collapse. It refused to even accept and look at a PA proposal on borders. Israel's gov only wants to talk about Palestinian textbooks and the colors of the Palestinian flag.
17. SANCTIONS
Ricardo Macher ,   Karne Shomron IL   (12.10.10)
The only difference, Mr Barak, is that now the world is sanctioning us because of that. We have to stop building NOW otherwise we will be alone in the world.
18. How did your father say hummous in Polish
Cynic #2   (12.10.10)
or falafel or tahina.
19. Not an issue.
Jules   (12.10.10)
The Palestinians refuse to recognize Israel as Jewish state, which means there is nothing to talk about at all. You can't discuss peace with someone who deny your right to exist.
20. Barak is correct: building freeze continues
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (12.10.10)
As minister of defense, he's the one who has to sign to approve building plans in Judea and Samaria. He isn't signing anything. Lazy news readers believe the propaganda the Palestinians put out, and lousy journalists are only too eager to print it. Come see for yourself. The building freeze is on. Wake up world, and stick the Palestinian propaganda where the sun don't shine...
21. Nour #8 you're the thieves
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.11.10)
This is our land - go back to your own. As for Barak he has more than made up by illegally preventing Jews from building on their own land.
