31. What is the problem?
observer   (12.14.10)
The secular Zionists should have no problem with this 'ruling'. These are Zionist 'rabbis' preaching Zionist ideology. It has nothing to do with Jewish Law or religion.
32. Religious Zionism is Torah [Re:post #31]
Ami   (12.14.10)
Religious Zionism is based on Yishuv Eretz Israel, so you are confusing your analogies. Ramban's fourth mitzvah based on Bamidar 33:53, the Shulchan Aruch (Even Ezra siman 75), and the Pitchei Tshuva 106 all agree Yishuv Eretz Israel is binding. These poskim did not suddenly invent Yishuv Eretz Israel existed but would have possibly learned it from their teachers before them. A non-canonical text that has historical value that Yishuv Eretz Israel was always considered binding is 1 Maccabees 15, 32-35, which I urge you to look up on Google. Rabbis in Israel should not be exposed to political intimidation no matter what they rule. Halacha is about process, not outcome. And to ascribe purely political motives to Rabbis who you personally disagree with is to substitute yourself for G-d.

To wohom would you rent an appartment? A honnest goy or a crook jew?
34. The original purpose of being Jewish . . .
noa ,   israel   (12.14.10)
was to be a light unto all the nations. Aside from the Halacha, which is not the Torah, how can we do that if we are bigots? And isn't that what we considered anti-semitism, when Jews could not own land or were treated differently from other citizens. I am no biblical scholar, but one thing I do know it states in the bible: Don't do unto others what you would not have done to you.
35. The Land is only!!!! for the Torah observant.
Eliyahu Konn ,   Powell, US   (12.15.10)
Not for the religious or secular that pick and choose what to keep in the Torah. Not for those that bring the traditions of men from other countries and from the dark ages. DNA is forever NOT the determining factor. The Land is certainly not for other religions that don't hold the תנ''ך as their final authority בלי additions. שמע ישראל '' אלהינו '' אחד
36. Torah:It's forbidden to praise goy, do him free favor
Avrohom ,   New York   (12.16.10)
Talkback critics have denounced my referring to what what the Torah commands.. On Lo Teichaneim, see the Sefer HaHinuch (Book of Education on 613 commandments), Rambam (Maimonides), Shulchan Aruch and books by all contemporary Haredi rabbis
