1. didnt they get money, to leave ?
eporue ,   europe   (12.15.10)
in exchange they had to sign a form, saying they are leaving on their own will, and wont return, and wont have any other demands ever, etc etc ? that happened to the romanians in france, too. im not sure, but think they got 300 euro each, what is a fortune in romania, and a basis to restart there with some (legal) business...
2. SAME ON "ISRAEL" & SHAME ON SUDAN
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.15.10)
3. Question for Salma
Dr. Jack   (12.15.10)
Why don't the Sudanese refugees seek asylum in Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain and other Islamic countries, where they can be happy and free!! Salma should open her home to the Sudanese brothers and sisters. Would you??? I guess she will keep very VERY, quiet!! Please give me an answer!!
4. Not good PR for Israel especially at this
Moses ,   Johannesburg, RSA   (12.15.10)
time. Apartheid South Africa and Israel were best friends thats why their policies are almost the same. A refugee is a refugee no matter what but treating people from South Sudan like that is a shame, war can broke anytime during referendum or after so what will happen to them? Why did Israelis wait a little longer?????????
5. some clarity on the issue...
Nadav ,   tlv israel   (12.15.10)
there is so much (deliberate) disinformation on these ersatz "refugees." If they are NOT from Darfur, then they cannot claim they are refugees fleeing from war since Sudan is at peace except for Darfur. Israel is NOT obligated by international law to take in "refugees;" according to international law, signatory countries are obligated to receive refugees fleeing war/natural disaster from NEIGHBORING/Bordering States who are NOT at war with it- that clearly leaves out ALL of Africa and especially Arab ruled Sudan. Israel was nice enough to take in Darfur refugees, even thought they are devout Muslims and from Sudan- an enemy country, but this only resulted in Israel being taken advantage of by illegal immigrants. As for children speaking Hebrew, that whole issue is pure none-sense- who the hell in SUdan knows what Hebrew sounds like? In Sudan, HUNDREDS of different languages are spoken across a region the half the size of Europe!?! Aside from that, Southern Sudan, from which almost ALL of these illegal immigrants hail from, are not anti-Israel or anti-Jewish, .i.e they won;t care to hear Hebrew or learn that some people lived in Israel... Finally, after April elections in Sudan, either the South will gain independence from the racist Arab north, or the country will fall into real civil war (again)- in any case, Israel needs to be ready with a clear policy and security fence on the Egyptian border (ASAP)!
6. Israel owes him absolutely nothing.
Tahl ,   Ashdod   (12.15.10)
In other Western countries, all migrants crossing the border illegally are placed in detention or jail, and deported immediately without any options to consider, without any sentiments, without letting the fathers stay to work, without any aids from all sorts of humantarian organizations, without any health treatments, without the media hugging them, and needless to say - without any money given to them! Only in Israel do illegal migrants receive such red carpet treatment, and he still has the nerve to complain.
7. Salama and the leftists should take these people in.
Salami ,   Dawlat Isrā'īl   (12.15.10)
If Salama and the bleeding hearts love these illegal infiltrators so much they should open their houses and neighborhoods up to them. Put up or shut up!
8. THE UN mission is to resolve issues like this . Instead
Jae ,   Lynn US   (12.15.10)
Israel has taken the place of the UN. madness! The UN with its billions and its oil money and western powers has forgotten its mission, instead playing political bedfellow with arab and muslim interests also why is this guy saying its better to die in sudan than live here, and yet he is staying?
9. #3 Dr. Jack ( doctor in waht ?!)
Salma ,   Palestine   (12.15.10)
I believe that we should help our brotherhood regardless of race, color, religion, clearly you don't agree with me ! As for your question with great regret the Arab countries are not better off than "Israel", dictatorship and racism are two sides of same coin As for me I'd like to open my home to these unfortunate refugees, but unfortunately I can't make decision in this regard, as I said yesterday, my homeland is under occupation, "Israel" is contemplating how to get rid of us Palestinians, wonder how can we help others?!!
10. Address the Root of the problem...
Warren ,   Israel   (12.15.10)
Sudan is the biggest country in Africa. Which is been forced to divide its land. With the Northern 70% wanted by Muslims, to form yet another muslim country. Backed by funding from the arab and non-arab states. And the other 30% SOuth is to be left for the "others". Just to make sure that the South also becomes Muslim. There is a large influx of muslims into these traditional african southern cities, which is causing all the conflict in the first place. So pray tell me why Israel should be responsible for solving yet another crisis caused by yet the same group of people. Maybe the UN should get out of their 5=Star accommodations in Israel. And go to the areas in the world, where there really are people dying and suffering in places like Sudan
11. They are NOT refuges
Moshe ,   Netanya   (12.15.10)
They came from Egypt. They can go to Saudi Arabia or Egypt. For $900 they can leave there one year. Where they got $10,000 for trip to Israel? I know the answer. Why Israel?
12. SEND THEM ALL BACK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ben Yisrael ,   Israel   (12.15.10)
13. #4 In Europe.
tejas ,   India   (12.15.10)
What refugees are doing in countries like Sweden, Norway? How natives are being treated by refugees in Sweden? Who's mistakes? Who is paying for it?
14. #9 Salma help yourself first
Alexander ,   NJ USA/Israel   (12.15.10)
Last time I checked the Muslim's invaded our land not the other way around. So that makes you the ancestor of occupiers and settlers doesn't it? Salma, if you don't like Israel so much then leave. What's stopping you, Jordan is like a 10 min car drive for you isn't it? It can't be that hard for an Arab to start a new life in an Arab country. Besides the only thing that will change for you is your flag will have the star in it that Palestinians removed to make their flag. Well, that and you won't have to see Jews anymore, but isn't that what you want anyway?
15. what can be expected from government ?
Alexander ,   NJ USA/Israel   (12.15.10)
It's a pretty bad situation for these folks, but what are they expecting from the government? Israel has a lot of problems it needs to deal with on it's own and refugee's from Sudan are not at the top of that list. Hopefully something will be done to help these people out of their situation.
16. refugee
colin   (12.15.10)
Did not he state of SUDAN help tou. Go back and get help from SUDAN Israel as a state will not help you
17. Life here worst? GTF out of of here! ah you dont
Omri ,   Israel   (12.15.10)
want to leave? thought so.
18. Sudanese refugees
Ezra ,   Florida   (12.15.10)
Maybe he could do a big favor to his sudanese bretheren by explaining to them how bad it is in Israel. This way Israel will be saved the headache of having them within its borders with all the ramafications that it involves. Stay home in Sudan, will you?
19. #4 Moses from Jo'burg
Raphael ,   Netanya   (12.15.10)
Do you suggest Israel should greet african refugees the same way you took care of zimbabwean immigrants? Mass lynching, prison and expulsion?
20. Salma 9
JUDAH THE LION   (12.15.10)
Salma wrote QUOTE:As for me i'd like to open my home to these unfortunate refugees but unfortunately I can 't make decision in this regard as I said yesterday,my homeland is under occupation.Judah the Lion will answer you,Firstly, you are not under occupation at all and no one is holding you as hostage like your brothers do to the Jews in Arab land. You can sell your house take the money and go to your land in Arabia. If Israel is racist and dictatorship like Arabs, why there are some Arab traitors and advicers to Arafat and PLO in our Kennesset. No one in the WORLD will accept traitors in their parliament. You are VERY LUCKY to live in our LAND OF ISRAEL.
21. Don't come here then!
Daniel   (12.15.10)
22. The Jewish Arab refugees of the 1950's never complained
Esther ,   Netherlands   (12.15.10)
When the Jews from Arab countries came to Israel entire families lived in a tent and one-roomed barracks (tsrifim) for over ten years and they did not have access to proper daily meals. Eggs for example, were only given to children. Usually the family pay check was so small that they were obliged to sell their goodies in the streets. Yet most of these people grew up to be loyal and educated Israeli citizens doing military service without ever complaining. They sought to better themselves. Can you imagine Jews returning to nazi Germany because life in Israel was hard? If this family can return to Sudan, they are not really refugees and Israel owes them nothing.
23. If this is true
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (12.15.10)
Then Amos and company came here for economic reasons and not because of fear for their lives. Those that were being raped and murdered in Sudan certainly have it better here than there. Very telling that they crossed a very large Arab country to get here and refuse to go to any other of our neighbors, even the PA where the UN would feed and house them. Economic refugees have no right to be here and must be sent back immediately.
24. The Good Ship Lollipop
Shlomo Kreplach ,   NYC USA   (12.15.10)
Comments like "send them back" is exactly how many good hearted, hard working patriot Europeans felt about Jews floating about on ships in International Waters after WWII. I'm glad that now many israelis will see the good intentions of those Europeans who shouted, "send them back." They weren't racists but good patriotic people that would not hesitate to keep their nations clean and pure.
25. not only in Israel
David Samson ,   Australia   (12.16.10)
Australia is also so stupid to give illegal immigrants the red carpet treatment. These illegal immigrants receive higher welfare payments that resident Australians plus all living costs and legal coast paid by the Australian tax payer. Is this insanity or what ?
26. Your Illegals ...
John DeLancy ,   Alaska, USA   (12.16.10)
are absolute pansies compared to ours. Our illegals don't work for minimum wage - they work for less! And they do manage to take care of their families, even knowing that our government will not carry them. Tell Mr Sudan to swim the Rio Grande; we'll give him a leaf blower and 2 bucks an hour ... until we get around to deporting him!
27. If life in Israel is harder than life in Sudan ...
John DeLancy ,   Alaska, USA   (12.16.10)
... then why didn't Amos go home with his family??? I was all ready to give Israel's hospitality to these immigrants. Light of the world attracting people to learn the ways of the Jews and all that. But these immigrants sound suspiciously like the immigrants in France and Holland. The only difference is that Israel isn't giving them free support so they can sit about planning Jihad and enforcing Sharia!
